Note: This is my first recap. Unfortunately, I am unable to get pictures, since this is a console dynasty, and none of the pictures looked good. I tried to be innovative and spice things up though, so I hope you enjoy. Also, be sure to post comments.

November Recap

November 5

The Orlando Magic completely dominated the season opener vs. New Orleans. They opened the first quarter with a small 21-18 lead. Then, Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu exploded, adding fifteen of his eventual 23 points in that second period alone, as he led the Magic to a twelve point lead at the half.

The Magic came into the third strong, but they were essentially just trading baskets. 72-56 coming into the final period. In the end, Peja Stojakovic was the only player on the Hornets trying as the Magic blew out the Hornets on their home floor, 97-75.

ORL 21 27 24 25 97
NOH 18 18 20 19 75

H. Turkoglu: 23 points (POG), P. Stojakovic: 27 Points

November 6

The Magic expected another easy win in Charlotte, but that cockiness ended up costing them the win. After scoring the first 6 points of the game, the Magic's weak defense let the Bobcats go on an insane 21-2 run. The Bobcats finished the quarter leading 30-13.

This lead continued throughout the game. Despite the loss, Grant Hill came off the bench to have a great game. After his excellent 27 point, 10 rebound performance, he was inserted into the starting lineup. Brevin Knight was the easy choice for Player of the game, finishing with only 13 points, but an amazing 24 assists! Primoz Brezec, Gerald Wallace and Matt Carroll had surprisingly excellent games. The trio combined for 67 points!

ORL 13 27 32 29 101
CHA 30 24 28 34 116

B. Knight: 13 points, 24 assists (POG), G. Hill, 27 points, 10 rebounds

November 9

In an extremely high scoring affair, the Orlando Magic defeated the Dallas Mavericks 129-118. The first half was very close, and both teams were hitting all their shots. It looked like the Phoenix Suns were playing against themselves. The first half score was 70-65, Orlando.

The Magic did not disappoint in the second half as they made the sold-out crowd proud in their first Home game of the season. The Mavericks played terribly in the third quarter, and the Magic took advantage. Going into the final period, the Magic were up by 22 points. The Magic let their bench play the final quarter, but the Mavericks were down by too much, as the Orlando Magic won 129-118. Jason Terry was unable to be contained with 37 points and 10 assists, but he was his team's only star that night. Dwight Howard exploded with 27 points and an extremely impressive 21 rebounds.

DAL 39 26 14 39 118
ORL 41 29 31 28 129

D. Howard: 27 points, 21 rebounds (POG), J. Terry: 37 points, 10 assists

November 12

What a roller-coaster game it was at the TD Waterhouse. The Los Angeles Lakers started the game off poorly, but started playing better late in the 1st quarter, and they only trailed by six at the end of the first period. That solid play continued into the second quarter, as the Magic only led by three at the end of the half. Kobe was unstoppable, finishing the game with 37 points, and Travis Diener, a player acquired the the Lakers/Magic trade at the beginning of the season, played extremely well, scoring 26 points and dishing 17 assists.

The Magic's lead grew to 8 at the end of the third, but the Lakers didn't give up so easy. With a minute to go, the Magic brought in their bench, thinking the game was over, as they were up by eleven. With a series of missed Orlando shots, and Kobe Bryant dunks, the lead was just 1 with 14 seconds to go. The Magic took a timeout, and grant hill hit a jumper with 2.4 seconds to go to push the lead to 3. After a missed 3 pointed to potentially tie the game by Vladimir Radmanovic, the Magic celebrated their third victory in 4 games.

LAL 28 25 25 36 114
ORL 34 22 31 30 117

T. Diener: 26 points, 17 assists, (POG) Dwight Howard: 24 points, 18 rebounds

November 24

In one of the biggest blowouts in franchise history, the Orlando Magic destroyed the Portland Trailblazers from start to finish. The home team Magic simply walked all over the Blazers. After taking a 60-30 lead at the half, the Blazers trailed by no less than thirty points the whole game. Grant Hill led all scorers with 29 points, while Brandon Roy with 17 points was Portland's top scorer. The final score was 120-84.

POR 14 16 22 32 84
ORL 28 32 34 26 120

J. Magloire: 13 points, 14 rebounds, (POG) D. Howard: 18 points, 15 rebounds

November 27

The Philadelphia 76ers came to the TD Waterhouse hungry for a win and were a tough match for the red-hot Orlando magic. The game was a shootout. The teams stayed neck and neck for the first three quarters, and the Magic led by just two points.

Finally, the Magic exploded in the fourth. Going on a 17-6 run en route to winning their forth straight game: 127-116. Allen Iverson led his team with an amazing 44 points and 15 assists, but it wasn't enough. Kyle Korver and Andre Iguodala had good games with 25 and 27 points respectively. Rookie guard J.J. Redick finally got some decent minutes, and finished the game with a career-high 24 points. 5 players on the Magic scored 15 or more.

PHI 30 35 26 25 116
ORL 32 35 26 34 127

A. Iverson 44 points, 15 assists, (POG) D. Howard 24 points, 11 rebounds

November 29

The Orlando Magic bench really got a chance to shine in the final game of November. All of the Magic starters got into early foul trouble, so Brian Hill decided to switch to a bench lineup in the second quarter. They certainly made the most of their minutes, has they ended up with an 18 point lead midway through the second. After a strategic timeout, the Celtic went on a huge run, led by guard Delonte West who was red hot from the field. The Celtics only trailed 64-58 at the half.

The second half was all Boston. Delonte West was the star of the show, with an amazing 40 points and 15 assists. Paul Pierce benefited from those assists as he scored 37 points, including 14 free-throws. The starters had a bad game. Dwight Howard has just 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jameer Nelson had 13 points and 12 assists. Trevor Ariza broke out of his shell and finished with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks.

BOS 28 30 35 38 131
ORL 33 31 31 21 122

(POG) D. West 40 points, 15 assists, J. Nelson, 13 points, 12 assists

Current Record: 5-2

Power Rankings, Team Standings, League Leaders, Roster Movement and More Coming Very Soon!

Note: Thank you to super_man322000 for being the first to reply. I don't know if I will win a championship, at least in my first season, but I am gunning for a high playoff seed. I may only do one season though because I have made a few mistakes so far, and this is just my first.

Also, My quarters are still too long. Should I switch to 6, 7 or 8 minute quarters? Please post comments.

Power Rankings

---The Top Five---

1. Miami Heat - 4-1 - The Defending Champions are off to a great start to the season. Superstar guard Dwyane Wade is #2 in both steals and assists.

2. Los Angeles Clippers - 4-0 - Following their Cinderella run to the Western conference semi-finals, the Clippers are the only team that is currently undefeated. Will they be undefeated by the end of the year? Only time will tell.

3. Dallas Mavericks - 5-2 - After a 1-2 start, the Mavs have won four straight and are the hottest team in the league. Dirk Nowitzki is one of the top MVP candidates this year.

4. San Antonio Spurs - 2-1 - Despite the season being just 3 games old for them, the Spurs are a safe bet to win the title. The Big Fundamental is averaging 11 rebounds and 3 blocks per game.

5. New Jersey Nets - 3-1 - The big three is leading New Jersey to the second best record in the east. Too bad Jason Kidd is having a poor start to the season.

---The Contenders---

6. Orlando Magic - 5-2 - Despite blowing an 18 point lead in a loss to Boston, the Magic are still one of the biggest surprises of the season. Dwight Howard is #2 in Rebounding, and Jameer Nelson is #2 in Assists.

7. Denver Nuggets - 4-2 - They are tied for the top spot in the surprisingly good Northwest division. After trading away Andre Miller, how will Earl Boykins do with the starting position?

8. Utah Jazz - 4-2 - Looks like that strong finish to the 2006 season was no fluke. Can Kirilenko and Co. make it to the playoffs for the first time since the Stockton/Malone era?

9. Boston Celtics - 4-2 - The come from behind victory in Orlando was a big deal. Delonte West is playing like an all-star, and Paul Pierce is still in his prime. The Celtics could have a deep Playoff run this year.

10. Washington Wizards - 3-2 - With Caron Butler, Gilbert Arenas, and Antawn Jamison all having good seasons, going to the Playoffs in inevitable.

11. Phoenix (2-2)
12. Golden State (2-1)
13. New Orleans (3-2)
14. Houston (4-3)
15. Detroit (3-3)
16. L.A. Lakers (4-3)
17. Seattle (3-3)
18. Sacramento (4-4)
19. Minnesota (2-3)
20. Portland (3-3)
21. Milwaukee (3-4)
22. Philadelphia (2-3)
23. Chicago (1-2)
24. Charlotte (2-4)
25. Cleveland (1-3)
26. Memphis (1-5)
27. Toronto (1-3)
28. Indiana (1-4)

Finally, I'm done with updates. I quadruple posted to be easier on the eyes, plus I will update in these posts as I go along.

Wow the huge update looks awesome... I'm glad that you have so realistic stats in your dynasty(well except some stats, like Brevin Knight 12 APG)... Really nice job you've done so far man, keep it up (Y)

Thanks! Brevin's 12 APG is because of poor defense on my part in the game vs. Charlotte. I'll play the next month soon, but I don't know how many minutes to play. So far I average 116.1 PPG and my team actually has a higher Defense rating than offense.

When I get the next recap up (in next couple of days), I will do recaps differently. Rather than doing monthly reports of games, I will do game-by-game updates. Also, I may sometimes post previews.

Coming soon: A Blockbuster trade between Orlando and a Northwestern Team, and a game.

SNEAK Preview: Magic (5-2) @ Knicks (0-4)

Starting Lineups (ORL):

PG: J. Nelson (81)
SG: L. Sprewell (82)
SF: G. Hill (84)
PF: H. Turkoglu (80)
C: D. Howard (92)

Starting Lineups (NYK):

PG: S. Marbury (85)
SG: J. Rose (76)
SF: Q. Richardson (79)
PF: C. Frye (78)
C: E. Curry (80)

The Knicks are still looking for there first win. After the bizarre trade which sent starting SG Jamal Crawford to Denver for PG Andre Miller, the Knicks have 4 very talented Point Guards in their rotation and are forced to start veteran Jalen Rose. Meanwhile, the Magic are trying to bounce back from the tough loss to Boston and get their 6th victory of the season. (2nd road win)

Recap coming soon. PLEASE reply.

Well, you aren't going to like the trade... The Delonte thing was a mistake, it was actually 15 assists. I suck at guarding point guards. Also, in this update, I switched to 7 minute quarters, and to All-Star difficulty.

Here is the update:

BREAKING NEWS!

In the biggest deal this season, the Seattle SuperSonics, Toronto Raptors and the Orlando Magics have agreed on a 3 team trade involving eight players.

Orlando gives: G Carlos Arroyo, G Keyon Dooling and F/C Darko Milicic
Orlando recieves: F/G Morris Peterson, G Luke Ridnour and F/C Chris Wilcox
Toronto gives: F/G Morris Peterson and G Anthony Parker
Toronto recieves: F/C Nick Collison and F/C Darko Milicic
Seattle gives: F/C Nick Collison, F/C Chris Wilcox and G Luke Ridnour
Seattle recieves: G Anthony Parker, G Keyon Dooling and G Carlos Arroyo

The Magic easily got the most out of the trade in the short run, trading 3 players who were rotting away on the Injury reserve and receiving three very talented players. The Magic now have one of the deepest rosters in the league. The one drawback to the trade is that all the players received are expiring contracts, and Luke Ridnour most certainly demands a large contract, as does Morris Peterson.

The Raptors got rid of Morris Peterson, a player who has been on the trade block, and Anthony Parker, an aging 6th man they received during the off season who hasn't had a great season. They received two young big men with bright futures that strengthen their front court's depth.

The Sonics got rid of Luke Ridnour, who has been on the Trading Block all season, Chris Wilcox who hasn't been playing like he did towards the end of last season and Nick Collison, a player that has complained about not getting enough minutes. They received three guards: Arroyo and Dooling can back up Watson at the point, and Parker will be second to Ray Allen at the shooting guard position. This seemed to be a bad deal for them, but they accepted the deal with enthusiasm.

Raptors new Depth Chart:

PG: Nelson, Ridnour, Parker
SG: Sprewell, Redick, Bogans*
SF: Hill, Peterson, Ariza*
PF: Turkoglu, Brown, Gugliotta
C: Howard, Mihm, Wilcox*

Peterson scores 31 as Magic defeat Knicks

December 3

Magic (5-2) @ Knicks (0-4)

The Magic could have easily blown out the New York Knicks. Everybody who saw the game knows it. But as Orlando coach Brian Hill said after the game, "A win is a win". Though the Magic had their regular starters start, about 2 minutes into the game, new additions Luke Ridnour and Morris Peterson came on the floor. The Magic dominated the first quarter, leading by as many as 20, but the Knicks managed to cut the lead to 11 by the end of the quarter, as the Magic got cocky.

The rest of the game was pretty much trading baskets. Only twice did the Knicks cut the lead to single digits, but every time the Magic's lead extended to 20 points, the Knicks would go on a small run. Morris Peterson lit it up in his first game with Orlando, scoring 31 points at the SG and SF position. Stephon Marbury played well, scoring 26 points and dishing 16 assists, but the rest of his team didn't step up and the Magic won it, 112-101.

Jameer Nelson, who is injured with tendinitis won't miss any games, but he wasn't playing his best. He shared minutes with new guard Luke Ridnour and was limited to season-lows 7 points and 5 assists. It is the first game is didn't get a double-double this season. Despite Morris Peterson leading both teams in scoring, reliable Center Dwight Howard's 23 points and 10 rebounds granted him the Player of the game honors.

ORL 31 27 30 24 112
NYK 20 23 31 27 101

Leading Scorers: ORL: Peterson (31), Marbury (26)
Top Performances: ORL: Dwight Howard (23 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 2 steals, POG), Stephon Marbury (26 points, 16 assists)

Coming soon: Grizzlies (2-5) @ Magic (6-2)

Starting Lineups (ORL):

PG: J. Nelson (82)
SG: L. Sprewell (81)
SF: G. Hill (80)
PF: H. Turkoglu (78)
C: D. Howard (92)

Starting Lineups (MEM):

PG: D. Stoudamire (78)
SG: E. Jones (81)
SF: R. Gay (80)
PF: P. Gasol (92)
C: H. Warrick (75)

The Grizzlies have only won two games this season and are experimenting with different lineups to see which ones work. This should be a good game as the Grizzlies are better than their record suggests and are a great defensive team. If the Magic win this game, they will stay on top of their division.

I just played the Memphis game, but I will post the recap tomorrow most likely. Post feedback on the trade and recap. Thanks!

Seattle got owned in that trade and its not realistic if you ask me, giving away their two best big men and their best PG for 3 role players at best. Terrible deal. On the other hand you raped both the teams.

Actually, you got Mo-Pete, so I'm satisfied.

I've got a 3-way to work once. I was Portland.

Aha, I found a link.

The odd thing about the trade is that Seattle's interest meter filled up first. The only reason Wilcox was included was because of cap space issues. Maybe the fact that all of the players I offered had inflated Overall ratings because of recent intense practice made it possible.

Seattle did do poorly with that trade, but the Sonics management sucks in real life. That is why the Knicks acquiring Miller is so realistic. Toronto didn't do to bad in the trade. They needed backup big men and they traded 2 old shotting guards they wanted to deal anyway for a couple young PF's.

I should get up the Grizzlies and Nuggets games up soon.

Grizzlies never lead as Magic hold on to narrow victory, take division lead

December 4

Grizzlies (2-5) @ Magic (6-2)

The Magic returned to the TD Waterhouse for their last home game for almost a month to face the Grizzlies. In trying out different lineups, Forward Hakim Warrick has the starting Center position, despite having the 7-foot Gasol. The Magic got off to a good start, taking a 22-16 lead after the first, and were up 47-28 at the half. The Grizzlies fought hard to take control in the second half, at points during that period the Magic lead was down to 1. Orlando managed to hold them off and still had a five point lead going into the final quarter.

In their second best defensive performance of the season, the Magic held of Memphis in the final quarter, containing rookie forward Rudy Gay, who scored 19 points, but hurt his team by going 5/9 from the free-throw line. In the lowest scoring game of the season, the Orlando Magic held off the Memphis Grizzlies 82-77. They are now 7-2. 5-1 at home, and 2-1 on the road. Jameer Nelson had another quiet game, and he has dropped from 2nd to 5th in Assists Per game. Dwight Howard didn't exactly explode either with a mere 13 points and 11 rebounds. Morris Peterson came off the bench, with 24 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds and was named player of the game. He will most likely start the next game in veteran guard Latrell Sprewell's place.

MEM 16 12 29 20 77
ORL 22 25 15 20 82

Leading Scorers: MEM: Gay (19), ORL: Peterson (24)
Top Performances: MEM: Gasol (12 points, 13 rebounds), ORL: Peterson (24 points, 3 Assists, 3 Rebounds, POG)

Coming Soon: Magic (7-2) @ Nuggets (5-2)

Starting Lineups:

PG: J. Nelson (82) vs. E. Boykins (78)
SG: L. Sprewell (81) vs. J. Crawford (81)
SF: G. Hill (80) vs. C. Anthony (89)
PF: H. Turkoglu (78) vs. K. Martin (77)
C: D. Howard (92) vs. M. Camby (88)

While the Nuggets have a slightly better starting lineup, the Magic have one of the league's deepest benches, and have deadly 3-point shooters. Both teams lead their respective divisions and are coming off multiple wins.

Reminder: the rosters are the default ones, hence why the Nuggets don't have Iverson. After I finish this one (will only do one season) my next Association will have updated rosters.

Nuggets recap coming soon. Please reply so I don't have to triple post. ;)

Since Denver doesn't have Iverson it shouldn't be very hard. But there's Melo and it shouldn't be easy, I think you have somethin' like 67% chances to win...

Crawford dominates as Nuggets blow out the Magic

December 6

Magic (7-2) @ Nuggets (5-2)

The first quarter was pretty close, with both teams not playing their best. After the first quarter, the Nuggets led by 3. While the Magic continued their lazy play, Denver dominated, outscoring the visiting team 32-21 in the second period.

Coming into the second half, the Magic emerged as a new team, turning a 16 point lead into a 7 point lead. A timeout by the home team killed the Magic's momentum as Crawford began to dominate by picking off passes and hitting almost every shot. 85-74 Denver going into the final period.

Desperately trying to pull off a comeback, the Magic got in foul trouble and forced a lot of three point shots. The Nuggets cruised to the win 108-89. Jamal Crawford was the clear player of the game, finishing with 32 points, 6 assists, 4 steals and 3 rebounds on 12/17 shooting. Morris Peterson scored 28 in his first start of the season, but shot a low field goal percentage. Jameer Nelson and Dwight Howard both had quiet games. Howard got his usual double-double, but Nelson continues to struggle, scoring 8 points and dishing 7 assists.

ORL 21 21 32 15 89
DEN 24 32 29 23 108

Leading Scorers: ORL: Peterson (28), DEN: Crawford (31)
Top Performances: ORL: Howard (10 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks), DEN: Crawford (31 points, 6 assist, 4 steals, 3 rebounds)

Coming Soon: Magic (7-3) @ Jazz (4-2)

Starting Lineups:

PG: J. Nelson (82) vs. D. Williams (76)
SG: M. Peterson (78) vs. R. Brewer (74)*
SF: G. Hill (81) vs. A. Kirilenko (89)
PF: H. Turkoglu (78) vs. C. Boozer (82)*
C: D. Howard (93) vs. M. Okur (84)

* Denotes Key match up

Coming off a disappointing loss in Denver, the Magic hope to recover against the Utah Jazz. A player on the Jazz that Orlando must be weary of is Andrei Kirilenko, who is a monster on Defense. The Magic hope to win on size and depth as they have a much better bench and an extremely dominant Center in Howard. The Jazz will hope to win on Defense and their 3-point shooters to win. The Jazz are 4-0 on their home floor.

Hill Clinches Victory with Clutch Game-Winner

December 8

Following an embarrassing loss in Denver two nights ago, the Orlando Magic came into Utah hungry for a win. Playing solid defense, the Magic got off to an early 7 point lead at the end of the first quarter, and they led by 9 at the half. Morris Peterson scored 20+ points for the fourth straight game. The Jazz and Magic basically traded baskets in the third period, Orlando still leading 66-60 going into the final quarter.

Utah dominated the fourth. Ronnie Brewer played almost the entire game, but never slowed down, finishing with 25 points. The Jazz started the quarter with an 11-4 run to take the lead, then the rest of the fourth was a seesaw. After Tom Gugliotta missed a short-range jumper, Kirilenko got fouled on the fast break, but with his poor free-throw shooting, missed them both. In the last minute, the lead was traded back and forth until the last ten seconds. Utah led 89-88. The Magic took a timeout. Jameer Nelson dished his 12th assist of the game (Finally getting back on track with 14 points, 12 assists, 2 steals, a rebound and a block) to Grant Hill, who made an open midrange jumper with 4.4 seconds to go to give his team a one-point lead. Playing tough defense, the Magic did not allow the Jazz to score, as Deron Williams bricked the potential game-winner.

ORL 25 20 21 24 90
UTA 18 18 24 29 89

Leading Scorers: ORL: Peterson (25), UTA: Brewer (25)
Top Performances: ORL: Howard (14 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 steals, 2 assists, POG), UTA: Kirilenko (24 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks)

Coming Soon: Magic (8-3) @ Suns (3-3)

Starting Lineups:

PG: J. Nelson (83) vs. S. Nash (92)
SG: M. Peterson (79) vs. R. Bell (76)*
SF: G. Hill (82) vs. S. Marion (94)
PF: H. Turkoglu (79) vs. B. Diaw (82)*
C: D. Howard (93) vs. A. Stoudamire (93)*

* Denotes Key match up

The Suns haven't played many games this season, but so far have gotten off to a disappointing start. The Suns have a much stronger starting lineup, but their bench is paper-thin compared to Orlando's. The Magic have been the surprise of the season and are very difficult to beat. However, they are 3-2 on the road compared to their strong 5-1 record on their home floor. To contend with Phoenix's strong shooters, the Magic must be perfect on defense.

NBA News/Injury Report

Forward Kwame Brown of the Orlando Magic twisted his ankle in practice. Recovery will take take about 4 days. As a precaution, Magic coach Brian Hill will put Wilcox in the lineup to take his place. Chris Wilcox was recently acquired in a 3-team trade from the Sonics. He has yet to play a game since the trade.

The Charlotte Bobcats have signed Point Guard Raul Lopez to a 1 year contract worth 2.28 Million dollars. With two strong point guards already in the lineup, this trade brings suspicion of a trade.

Thanks for the praise Drex. My goal is to be the first (and most likely last) person on this forum to complete a season in 2K7. I know you can't get pictures but it is a superior game. Why can't anyone stick to a season. Arrrgh... Anyway, enjoy the most unrealistic game of the season.

Six Magic players score twenty as they blow out Suns in crazy game

December 11

When the two highest scoring teams in the league face each other, you know that it will be something special. After 3 straight games scoring less and 100 points (2 of those games wins), the Magic turned in the opposite direction when they came to Phoenix. After the first quarter, the Suns were up 36-31, which suggested big trouble for the Magic, who enter the game 0-2 in games in which they trailed in the first quarter. The Suns played well in the second quarter, taking a 53-40 lead. The Magic took a crucial timeout and killed the Suns momentum. Latrell Sprewell was huge for the Magic off the bench, stealing the ball 7 times and eventually scoring twenty points as he turned the 13 point deficit into a 7 point lead at the half.

Morris Peterson and Dwight Howard were quiet in the first half, as Jameer Nelson and Latrell Sprewell were the stars of the show. They exploded in the second half. Dwight Howard finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists, recording his second triple-double of the season. Morris Peterson scored 21 points in the end, 10 in the third quarter. The Suns and Magic basically traded baskets in the third quarter. In the final period, all of the Magic's players were scoring at will, hitting all of their shots.

Steve Nash played very well for his team, scoring 42 points and dishing 17 assists. Shawn Marion only chipped in 7 points, but grabbed 20 rebounds. He suffered from foul trouble the whole game. Jameer Nelson had a great game, scoring 22 points and dishing 12 assists. In the end, the Magic prevailed. With about thirty seconds to go, all five of Orlando's starters had at least 20 points. Latrell Sprewell had fourteen points at the time, but after getting an and-1 dunk, then hitting a 3 pointer with 4 seconds left, he finished with 20 points. in a game totally governed by Offense, the final score was 139-117.

ORL 31 39 29 40 139
PHX 36 27 25 29 117

Leading Scorers: ORL: Howard (23), PHX: Nash (42)
Top Performances: ORL: Howard (23 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, 3 steals, POG), PHX: Nash (42 points, 17 assists, 2 steals, 1 rebound)

Coming Soon: Magic (9-3) @ Spurs (3-3)

Starting Lineups:

PG: J. Nelson (83) vs. T. Parker (83)*
SG: M. Peterson (79) vs. M. Ginobili (87)
SF: G. Hill (82) vs. B. Bowen (76)
PF: H. Turkoglu (79) vs. R. Horry (75)*
C: D. Howard (93) vs. T. Duncan (96)*

* Denotes key match up

The Spurs haven't had a great start to the season, and hope to not fall below the .500 mark. This is the last game of 2006 for the Orlando Magic, and after this, they will no longer have such a packed schedule. Dwight Howard will meet his match with superstar Tim Duncan. The Magic's strong offense will be given a run for its money with the Spur's suffocating defense.

Anyone still reading? I know this isn't a flashy story or anything, and I should rely on people replying but still... Anyway, here is the last game in the year of 2006, with a new and slightly improved format...

Magic start out strong, but get blown out by dominant Spurs

December 13

The Magic came to San Antonio off a big win in Phoenix. Facing a tough defensive team like the Spurs was a bit of a shock. Orlando played well enough in the first quarter, finishing the period up 31-24. Everything fell apart in the second quarter however, as the Magic got lazy and were dominated by the suffocating Spurs defense. Leading by 8 at the half, the Spurs continued their strong play into the second half, and led by 18 going into the final period. The Magic made a strong effort to come back, once dropping the score to 7 but they couldn't stop Duncan's Spurs, who finished the game on a 14-5 run en route to a 114-97 victory.

Despite the win, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was unhappy about the game because the Spurs allowed the Magic to score 97 points. Tim Duncan dominated at the Center position, not scoring as much as Dwight Howard, but grabbed an insane 19 rebounds. This is the first game of the season that Howard did not grab 10 rebounds, and only finished with a disappointing 8. Also, Morris Peterson only scored 18 points, his lowest total since the trade that brought him to Orlando. Tony Parker was the easy choice for game MVP with 27 points and 15 assists.

ORL 31 17 20 29 97
SAS 24 32 30 28 114

Top 3 Scorers (ORL): Howard (22), Peterson (18), Hill (17)
Top 3 Scorers (SAS): Parker (27), Ginobili (24), Duncan (13)

Top 3 Performances (ORL):

1. Nelson (16 points, 12 assists, 2 steals, 1 rebound)
2. Howard (22 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block)
3. Peterson (18 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist)

Top 3 Performances (SAS):

1. Parker (27 points, 15 assists, 2 steals, 1 rebound, POG)
2. Duncan (13 points, 19 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal)
3. Ginobili (24 points, 9 assists, 3 steals, 1 rebound, 1 block)
