I don't want to imitate the real life Rockets, which is the whole point of the association.

Yes, yes, I know. I meant that the Bobcats lol'd at us, since they pwned us in the fourth quarter. :|

Yes, but they are actually good in this association, and Larry Brown hasn't stepped out either.

Only Kevin Martin and Luis Scola showed up in the fourth quarter. Aaron Brooks was needed to jack up and make threes.

Still can't start new threads on the 2K forums, but I'll keep post-padding over there until I get to the point where I can start a new thread. I'll send you a PM to verify if I'm doing this uploading thing correctly.

Re: Chapter 3 - The Fun Begins

Postby Axel The Great on Thu Jan 20, 2011 8:46 am

George7, it'll get interesting in the next few chapters.
The Fun Begins

"So now that you're here, why not just meet the crew?" Alexander asked Axel, after they had discussed their plans to bring David Stern to justice. "Um, sure," Axel replied.

It was Saturday, November 27, the day after the Rockets lost to the Charlotte Bobcats.

Axel followed Leslie Alexander out of his office, and went down the hallway. They went into the main office of the second floor, "This is our secretary of the headquarters, Adriana Garcia. Adriana, this is Axel," Alexander said. They both smiled at each other, and they both said, "Nice to meet you," and shook hands.

Axel took a second look at Adriana, and realized she was very hot. She had light brown eyes, very smooth, tan skin, and long, straight hair. She also had Nice curves and legit-sized boobs, Axel thought to himself.

"You can call me Ms. Garcia, if you'd like," she said. Axel frowned.

"What's the problem?" she asked Axel. He realized Alexander had gone away, and that this was his chance. "There is no problem, there won't be one once your name is Mrs. Gomez in the future," Axel winked at her. Adriana blushed, and looked down at a stack of papers she was organizing. "How 'bout we go out sometime this week?" Axel asked her. She nodded in agreement, still blushing and looking down at her papers.

"Axel, what the hell are you doing? Get your ass back over here! Just made me waste breath!" Alexander snapped into the office. Axel waved goodbye to Adriana and walked away.

They went into another office. It had two desks in it, and a big window to look outside. "This is where you'll be working alongside Daryl Morey," Alexander said. "He's at a meeting right now with the team doctors discussing how the team's doing in terms of health."

"So what do I do? Am I supposed to help him arrange trades, or things like that?" Axel asked. "Yes, basically there are times when he has a lot to do in a day, but he can't do it all. Sometimes, there've been others to fill in for him, but now, you will be the one to do that," Alexander answered him. "And you'll be helping him organize things like who sings the Star-Spangled Banner, halftime shows, and other things at the Toyota Center for Rockets home games."

"Am I gonna get to attend the team's practices?" Axel asked. "Yes, quite a bit actually. Since you are about the same age as the players on the team, I imagine you'll be able to associate well with them. You'll be talking to their agents, and things like that. Since you say you specialize in scouting college prospects, you'll be able to help our scouts evaluate talent from the upcoming draft," Alexander explained.

"Sounds good, looking forward to the next few days then," Axel said, eager to start work.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next day, Axel joined joined the Rockets players at shootaround, got to know most of them, shot threes and free throws with them, and even got autographs from Kevin Martin, Yao Ming, Luis Scola, and others. He attended meetings with Daryl Morey as well, and was dismissed from work in time to watch the Rockets play against the Oklahoma City Thunder that night.

"Hope everyone is doing well and had an excellent Thanksgiving holiday. I'm Bill Worrell joined by Basketball Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler and you're watching Rockets basketball here on Fox Sports Houston," Axel turned on his TV to watch the Rockets game at home.

"And now your starting lineups brought to you by Toyota. For the Thunder, the youngster Serge Ibaka is out there at the five, and there's reigning scoring champion Kevin Durant and Jeff Green at the three and the four, and then there's James Harden and Russell Westbrook in the backcourt."

"And for the Rockets, at center there's big Yao Ming, then the two forwards, argentinian Luis Scola and the defensive stopper Shane Battier, and the guards, Aaron Brooks and leading scorer, Kevin Martin," the starting lineups were announced by Bill Worrell. "And so the Thunder win the tip, and the fun begins..."

Re: NLSC Two-on-Two Tournament

Postby Axel The Great on Thu Jan 20, 2011 8:47 am

Wanna see how dominant your NLSC Draftee can be? Well, here's your chance! The 2011 NLSC Draftees will take part in the 2-on-2 tournament, which will be held yearly. That means the NLSCers registered for the 2012 Draft will take part in the 2-on-2 tournament for next season, and so on and so forth.

Now you might be asking, why 2-on-2 and not 1-on-1? Well, all players will be CPU controlled, and in 2K11 CPU controlled players have shot chucking fests in 1-on-1 games, so hence the 2-on-2, to eliminate the shot-chucking. Now, you won't be paired up with anyone in your draft class, you'll be paired up with a current NBA player. Every player gets to choose who they want to be paired up with, the list of players will be below the schedule.

Your NLSC Draftee is 70-rated. You get 2 Dream Points for participating in a game, and 5 Dream Points for every game won. The one to accumulate the most wins after the tournament's end gets 20 Dream Points to spend on their attributes for their real draftee. Second place gets 15 points, and third place gets 10.

If you are not registered as an NLSC Draftee, send me your info, which is on the third page of this post.

So, now that that's out of the way, here's the schedule for the tournament:

Round One
Liam Washburn vs. Thierry Tirieux
Willie Lewis vs. Xavier Nelson
Zee Otoo vs. Valdis Iesalnieks
Justine Jones vs. George Koukoulis

Round Two
Liam Washburn vs. Willie Lewis
Thierry Tirieux vs. Xavier Nelson
Zee Otoo vs. Justine Jones
Valdis Iesalnieks vs. George Koukoulis

Round Three
Xavier Nelson vs. Liam Washburn
Willie Lewis vs. Thierry Tirieux
Justine Jones vs. Valdis Iesalnieks
George Koukoulis vs. Zee Otoo

Round Four
Liam Washburn vs. Zee Otoo
Thierry Tirieux vs. Valdis Iesalnieks
Willie Lewis vs. George Koukoulis
Xavier Nelson vs. Justine Jones

Round Five
Justine Jones vs. Liam Washburn
George Koukoulis vs. Thierry Tirieux
Willie Lewis vs. Zee Otoo
Valdis Iesalnieks vs. Xavier Nelson

Round Six
Liam Washburn vs. Valdis Iesalnieks
Thierry Tirieux vs. Zee Otoo
Willie Lewis vs. Justine Jones
Xavier Nelson vs. George Koukoulis

Round Seven
Liam Washburn vs. George Koukoulis
Thierry Tirieux vs. Justine Jones
Willie Lewis vs. Valdis Iesalnieks
Xavier Nelson vs. Zee Otoo

If you find a mistake in the schedule, just tell me and I'll fix it.

Now here's the list of players to pick from. To make this fair for everyone, these aren't stars like MJ, Kobe, or LeBron, but these are still players that can dominate, they are just overshadowed by the superstars of the NBA. Here is the list:

Code: Select all
Pick who you wanna roll with for seven games:

Josh Smith
Ray Allen
Gerald Wallace
Stephen Jackson
Carlos Boozer
Chauncey Billups
David Lee
Luis Scola
Kevin Martin
Roy Hibbert
Eric Gordon
Lamar Odom
Zach Randolph
Kevin Love
Michael Beasley
Andrew Bogut
Brandon Jennings
Emeka Okafor
Devin Harris
Brook Lopez
Gilbert Arenas
Andre Iguodala
Elton Brand
LaMarcus Aldridge
Tony Parker
Andrea Bargnani
Al Jefferson
John Wall
Rashard Lewis

Taken Players:
Thierry - Andre Iguodala
Houndy - Josh Smith
Lamrock - John Wall
Justine. - Michael Beasley
|)e8* - Gerald Wallace
George7 - Carlos Boozer
Valdis - Chauncey Billups
z02 - Kevin Martin

Note: These are all high 70's-low 80's rated players. Remember to choose wisely. Whatever player you choose, post his name below. If you don't want any of those players, name another, and I'll tell you if he's legitimate for the tournament.

So here's a feature we'll try for the first few rounds: game of the round. Everyone (whether you're in the tournament or not) casts a vote via PM, and the game with the most votes gets recapped in-depth. If you're in the tournament, you can't vote for the game you're in, and everyone can only vote once. If it's a successful feature, then I'll do it for all of the tournaments. If votes are scarce, then I'll either recap all of the games with the same attention, or choose the game of the round myself.

Also, I don't mind if you trash-talk, whether it's to me (for whatever reason you feel the need to trash talk to me) or another person (for the tournament only), but just no flaming or acting like little kids. Good luck to all!

Alright guys, thanks for choosing your teammates, they are very delighted to be working with you. :P Round One preview will be up sometime within the next few days, along with Week Six Recap. Since Week 6 consists of five games, there will be two parts to it, the first being the two month-ending games. Afterwards, I'll post the results for the prediction game.

In case anybody's wondering, I'm still accepting applications for NLSC Draftees. Fill out this information if you're interested. There's still two spots left in the 2012 Draft Class, if you'd like to participate in this tournament next season. :)

Rules: The only rule is the first to 21 wins.

Lamrock vs. Thierry
Image vs. Image

Liam Washburn has: John Wall
Thierry Tirieux has: Andre Iguodala

The quickness of the duo that is the Wall-burn (Wall-Washburn) connection will be tough to handle for Thierry and Iguodala. However, the size and versatility of Andre Iguodala, and the mid-range game mixed with the athleticism of Thierry Tirieux gives them the upper hand in this battle. Look to see Iguodala posting up either Wall or Washburn, since size could be what will decide this game.

Houndy vs. |)e8*
Image vs. Image

Willie Lewis has: Josh Smith
Xavier Nelson has: Gerald Wallace

This is likely the most evenly matched game of the round. Nelson and Lewis are maestros at the mid-range game, and both are very athletic. However, there's the fact that Lewis is a pesky defender, and Nelson will likely have a tough time getting his points. Wallace and Smith are both versatile forwards that rebound, block shots, and play perimeter defense. Whomever can get the hot hand in this one is likely to win, since it's hard to pick out any advantages.

Valdis vs. z02
Image vs. Image

Valdis Iesalnieks has: Chauncey Billups
Zee Otoo has: Kevin Martin

What the Martin-Otoo duo has: the three-point shot. Kevin Martin's driving abilities will surely make this a tough challenge for Iesalnieks and Billups. However, both Otoo and Martin are defensive liabilities. The duo of Iesalnieks and Billups will have to exploit that, and the mismatch that is Iesalnieks on Otoo. Look for him to post up.

George7 vs. Justine.
Image vs. Image

George Koukoulis has: Carlos Boozer
Justine Jones has: Michael Beasley

Beasley and Jones may have the combined size advantage, but Koukoulis has the penetration game, and Boozer has the strength and the post game. If Carlos Boozer has his way, this could end up being a very easy game for the Bulls fan-player duo. Beasley and Jones will have to look for their shot early on in the game, and stop both Koukoulis and Boozer from getting close to the basket.

Every game will be recapped like I've recapped Rockets games, with screenshots and everything. Also if you don't like your current profile picture, the screenshots that I'll be taking will be able to be used as your profile pic. Just tell me which one you'd like to use and you're set.

Good luck!
