Thanks for the kind words guys. Added Wallaces Play of the game against the Bucks. No ingame commentary since I could not find any fitting lately.
Jackson was just unstoppable. I ran the post up play I guess about 10 times. When he was hot then, he hit everything, not only post ups on AI but also contested shots from mid rang etc. (Y)

Reading your pictures take me back to year 7 and 8, trying to learn German, they weren't very good years. A huge 52 by J-man, and that was an awesome alley-oop in the video too!

Around the Cats ...

Being at 2-10 is never nice. I thought we improved pretty much but did not use our chances to close out games late. I was sitting in my office sipping coffee. It was not that I was desperate in any way, but I found myself thinking about what was going wrong and how I could improve this team and it's play all the time as I was looking out of the window. The Arena was beautiful. But we did not have enough fans visiting our games right now. Half of the stands were blank in our home games. We just did not have somebody the fans could identify with. I took another sip. I needed a lot of coffee lately. Been busy with all that financial stuff. The Bobcats were definitely not making any profit right now. The teams just was not successfull enough. And there was no role model like player. No Kobe or LeBron .... okay, that was a problem many teams had. But hell, we did not even have a Gasol or Shaq. Gerald Wallace was the born second or third option. Being a great defender and someone who crashes the boards and dunks it down. But he had almost no shot and lacked the offensive fundamentals. I felt it was too late to improve his game. Stephen Jackson played great lately, man, this guy can score on you almost every time. Almost. He was just too much of a headcase. And I did not know why he was called "Captain Jack". He did not show any leadership. He was late on coaching sessions. He jacked up shots like there was no tomorrow. And goddam, we were relying on him and these shots. Than we had Boris Diaw, very gifted, with great offensive fundamentals. But he was just too lazy. Lacked of athleticism. Actually he turned out to be a spot up shooter in the last games and was our second best three point shooter. Raymond Felton was a Point Guard definitely to my liking. He played well defensively and was able to set up his teammates. His drive was fantastic. But he could not shoot the ball well, something I didn't bother though. Still, he was not a guy you'd expect to lead a team. No All-Star. My eyes turned through the office. There were pictures of the players I had always liked on the wall. Magic, Larry, Scottie and, for sure, MJ. I knew I had a team full of role players every contender would love to have on its roster. But I had not go-to-guy. I stared at MJ. How would it be to have a go-to-guy like him on the team?
"KNOCK KNOCK"
Somebody knocked at the door. "Come in, please".
It was MJ. I had not seen him for about two weeks as he had been busy, that's what he said."Ay Yo, Chris. I thought it was time to get into touch. Haven't heard much of you lately. I don't have too much time though. How are you doin'?", he had a smile on his face. I'm doing fine, thanks for ..",
Ohhh, that's great!", he interrupted me quickly.
"I just wanted to tell you that I'm satisfied with the improvement of the team lately. I'm sure we will make it to the Playoffs despite our bad record so far. You really turned things around a bit. I hope you continue to work like this. Now you have to excuse me, I have an appointment at the golf club", he said and disappeared from the door case. "But ...", I could not find any words that fast and he was already gone. I only heard a quiet "Bye" from far away. I did not know what to think about the whole situation. We needed better players for sure. But I did not want to do any trades, especially with MJ showing trust into my work with the current roster. He did not seem to be angry with our latest bad achievements. But I was. But would he agree on any deals? I decided not to waste more thoughts about the roster but to read through the new scouting report Ron Harper left me on my E-Mail account. Dreaming of the franchise players of the better days I started reading the report of a potential franchise player of the future. It was about John Wall.

Ron Harper wrote:Image
Hey Chris, first of all nice win against the Sixers. Jax was on fire. He seems to really fit into your game plan. I liked his scoring. 52 points, hell yeah.
Well we're talking about scoring. Here is my scouting report about a guy who could be an explosive scorer in the NBA one day, John Wall.
Wall is a 6-4, 195 pounds Point Guard out of Kentucky. He's in his freshman years but there had already been a lot of hype about him in his high school days at Word Of God. He is 19 years old but has already declared that he would like to enter the upcoming draft. Here is what you should know about him.

Strenghts:
- very, very explosive and athletic, great finisher above the rim
- also able to finish in traffic, does not loose his body control
- he does not have CP3-speed, but a CP3-first step
- his ball handling is A+
- has very long arms and knows how to use them
- has great instincts and know when to find open teammates

Weaknesses:
- despite a decent shooting form, he is no threat from outside
- good passer in transition, but not on set plays/halfcourt
- he can dunk, but his layups and teardrops still miss too often
- he is turnover prone, throwing too many bad passes

Well, this does not sound better than Willie Warren, but that's just because Wall is still very raw. But his potential is unlimited. He is the prospect with the best future if you ask me. I love to watch the kid playing and you should also have a look at some of his games at Kentucky. If we keep our 2-10 pace and end up with a high pick, so far, he is my recommendation. My next report will be about Cole Aldrich. You'll hear from me.
Harper

I was drawing a picture of this guy leading our franchise in my mind, although I told myself to stop dreaming. I headed over to the gym to get back to the real life Bobcats.

Image

After some exercises to train strenght and after some weight lifting I decided to end the training with a 5on5 scrimmage. The atmosphere was quite good as the players knew we were heading into a week with three home games in a row. That's always good news, to stay at home for a while. The match went up and down and Stephen Jackson was hitting shot after shot. I was pleased with my big men DeSagana Diop and Nazr Mohammed whom we definitely needed. I decided to not extend the contract of Melvin Ely and Alexis Ajinca did not make huge steps on the Maine Redclaws. After a three by Augustin, Jackson ran down the court to finish the fastbreak. He took a big jump from the low block to finish with an easy dunk. Suddenly out of nowhere Rookie Gerald Henderson came up and tried to block the dunk attempt.
He fouled Jax hard but I did not know how he did that, but the ball bounced into the basket. Jax went down but was able to absorb his fall. Henderson fell down hard on his back.
Jackson built up above him. "You think you can stop me? You think you can fuckin' stop me?", he gave him an evil gaze. "Moron, you cannot stop me. None of you can stop me. Ima score fuckin' 50 on all of you", Jackson yelled at the rookie. Both were in pain but Gerald definitely more. "Fuckin' rookie. Now get up and take it like a man. You just WON'T FUCKIN' STOP ME".
I noticed that all the guys felt like it was a bit too much from Jax, but not even Gerald Wallace tried to intervene. It was the leading scorer against the Rookie. No chance. I ended the scrimmage here and told them to get to the shower. Henderson seemed to be alright and said he just needed some ice on his back. I did not like the whole scene but there was not much you could do except than hope that this would not be a daily routine.
As the gym was empty and the players were in the cabin, Flip Murray stopped and gave me some words. "Coach, I want to talk to you about my playing time. My agent and me think that this is nowhere near the time I got promised when I signed my contract. I was supposed to be the sixth man!".
I knew that I did not give him the time that fit with his role but I just thought he could not help us enough on the court right now. I tried to explain myself: "Look, Flip, right now I don't see the point of letting you play more because ...", suddenly I stopped. I had an idea. With Jackson seemingly loosing the ground under his feet I thought it would be a great idea to get him back on the floor. And how to do it better than by cecreasing his minutes?
"Well, you're right. I will try to give you more minutes next week. That's four games where you can show me what you got ...".
"Great, thanks Coach, you won't regret it".
We both left the gym as the lights turned out and another Bobcats day was over.

Nice recaps. Wall is a rich man's Derrick Rose, so he would be a good pickup down the road. Based o the current record and your Knicks dynasty, there is a good chance you'll get him too.

2-10 sucks, but at least Captain Jack been scoring at will. Gut feeling you're about to post your first winning week. Don't let me down!

Boris Diaw and Stephen Jackson are looking to avoid another loosing week

Image Week 5 (22nd-28th of November)

The Bobcats are on their way to a four game week, the first of the season. At least three of those four games will be at home and only the last game of the week will be at Washington. With two tough losses last week the Cats stand at 2-10 which is worst in the league so far. At least Stephen Jackson showed his value as he scored 29.3 points over the last three games. It will be all Eastern Conference this week with games against the Pacers, Raptors, Cavaliers and Wizards. It will be important to get more fire power on offense as the Bobcats only scored 91.3 points per game. Raymond Felton is looking to continue his streak of two games with 9 assists and wants to score more as he only averaged 8.3 points on the three game road trip. The week will start off with the Pacers visiting Charlotte on Sunday. On Wednesday the Raptors come to Charlotte followed by the Cavaliers on Friday. The Bobcats will end the week on the road @Washington on Saturday the 28th. That will be the last game of November.

Image The Pacers (3-7) will come to Charlotte on Sunday. Currently at 3-7 they are on the 2nd last spot in the Central Division. While they have been flowing on offense so far, their defense has been very inconsistent. The Pacers are the 2nd team in fouls per game this season with 25 allowing their opponents to get to the line too often instead of playing solid D. On the other side of the court though, they are the best free throw shooting team at .83%. Danny Granger is leading the way with a stellar scoring season so far. He's among the best five scorers of the league with 27.7 PPG. TJ Ford has been the second option on the Pacers so far averaging 17.7 points. But behind these both there is not much left. Tyler Hansbrough is punishing critics who thought he was too small and light to make it in the league. He is averaging very solid 9.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in 23 minutes of action. The Pacers come off two tough losses. One against the NBA's number one Cavaliers. LeBron posted another monster statline with 31 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals and Shaq Daddy added 18 and 10 to make it a 99-107 loss for the Pacers. The game before they lost to the Knicks as they could not get their offense rolling, 100-83.

Image The Toronto Raptors (4-9) had a great start into the season loosing only one game of their first five, against the Cavs. But after this stellar start the team completely fell apart and managed to loose eight games in a row. Riding on this 8-game loosing streak the Raptors will try to snap it at Charlotte, who has the worst record of the league. The Raptors are last in a not very good Atlantic Division with the Celtics and Sixers struggling. All that happened despite a monster season of Chris Bosh. The Texas native is averaging 27.5 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game this season. Bosh is believed to leave the team if they do not make the Playoffs once again as he can opt out of his contract after the season. The Raptors tried everything to give him enough support. Offseason acquisition Hedo Turkoglu has so far not found his rhythm and is only averaging 14.5 points per game. Andrea Bargnani is playing a very poor season so far with 10.8 points and 5.5 boards per game.
The only surprise has been Marco Belinelli, who got acquired in the Turkoglu trade. The young Italian is averaging 17.2 points in his last two outings and 13.2 points over the course of the season. He ranks 2nd in three point shooting with a respectable .61%. But the Raptors are still experiencing the same problems. They allow the most points in the league (107.7 OPPG) and are the 3rd last team in rebounding with 38 board per game. Further they are lacking good defenders and shotblockers as Chris Bosh alone is averaging 1.9 of the 4.2 blocks per game (2nd last in the league). The Raptors come off a big home blowout against the Heat. Dwyane Wade scored 33 and Michael Beasley tied a career high 36 and grabbed 11 rebounds. The Heat held Chris Bosh to only 13 points and won 124-89. Before the game against the Heat the Raps were on a four game road trip in the West loosing every game, with the last being a 91-97L @Utah against the revived Jazz.

Image The Cleveland Cavaliers (11-3) will be the last visitors of Time Warner Cable Arena this week. Right now the Cavs are the best team in the league and the stats prove it. LeBron and company are first in PPG with 111 and are defending at a third best with only 93.3 OPPG. Further they are first in field goal percentage with .51% and three point shooting with a remarkable .45%. "You can argue that we are on a run, but that just shows what this team is capable of. We can win it all this year if we just continue to play like we do right now and can transfer that into Playoffs. We're scoring much, but we ain't no fastbreak team. We like halfcourt playoff basktball just the same.", LeBron James told media last week. James is doing everything to defend his MVP title as he is having one monster season so far. How does 31.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 7.6 dimes, 3.6 steals, 1.6 blocks and a career best .44% from downtown sound? Shaquille O'Neal has brought the team what they wanted when they acquired him. The ex-big cactus is adding 15.9 points and grabbing 7.0 rebounds. Mo Williams adds 16.3 points on .413% from three point range. A surprise has been Leon Powe so far. Coming back from injury earlier Powe is averaging 9.3 points and 6.9 rebounds in 27 minutes per game kicking Anderson Varejao out of the lineup. Despite all the good facts, the Cavs are coming off a 104-96 home upset against the Sixers. Andre Igoudala stole the show and had 23 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists to counter LeBron's 36/5/8 statline. Allen Iverson added 18 points as the Sixers ended a four game winning streak by the Cavs. In their last game the Cavs blew out the Bobcats in great fashion 82-117.

Image The Washington Wizards (4-8) will host the Bobcats on Saturday to end the week for Charlotte. Washington is nowhere near where they wanted to be with all the injured players making a comeback. At 4-8 they are only second to last (in front of the Bobcats) in the South East division. Right now they are on a three game loosing streak with their last game being a tough 101-110 loss @ San Antonio. Randy Foye, who made it to the starting lineup scored 28, but the Wizards could not defend the Spurs' "big three" as Tony Parker, Tim Duncan and Richard Jefferson all scored 20+. Go-to-guys have been a problem for the Wizards so far despite having a good defender on the wing in Caron Butler, who is averaging 16.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists this season. This could also be seen in their loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder when Kevin Durant scored 25 and grabbed 13 boards in a 87-79 home loss for the Wizs. Gilbert Arenas is playing a good season after being out for nearly 1 1/2 years. Gil is scoring 20.6 points per game and grabbing 5.5 rebounds. He also brings 5.0 assists to the table. With Jamison also adding 15.9 and 9.1 and Foye averaging 14.7 points it seems like the Wizards offense should be clicking. But they are just too ineffective shooting a 3rd worst .41% from the field. Their defense is also very shaky as they are among league's worst in steals and blocks. Let's see how they can handle red-hot Stephen Jackson in the upcoming week.

Great writing man, you have got me hooked!! Im guessing its safe to say Jackson is on the block after his fiasco with Henderson? Since he's scoring well... maybe you can find some interest for him with other teams while he's hot. Wall would be a great addition.... but since I don't see you being a lottery pick, you will have to move up to get him. Maybe move Jackson later on for the rights to a top 5 pick?

Thanks for your comments guys. ;)

Drausus, actually I'm not sure wether or not I should move Jackson. I'm not a fan of big deals already in December. He is on a scoring spree and I'm not sure what I could get back. Sure, he's out of control and insane, but without him we will fall apart completely on offense. It will be a tough decision about Jax. About Wall ... I'm just scouting the top picks first, but as you mentioned, I don't want to end up with the number one pick.

Danny Granger and the Pacers were too much offensively for the Cats

Granger, Ford lift Pacers past Cats

ImageImage
Charlotte, November 22nd
The Indiana Pacers managed to grab an important road win against the Charlotte Bobcats in a game you would not vote to see if you could. The Pacers had 22 fouls and 11 turnovers, but Charlotte managed to shoot a poor .43% from the field to give the Pacers the nod. From the very first beginning Danny Granger and TJ Ford led the Pacers to a decent lead. They had 14 and 11 points apiece and especially Ford was tough to stop as he went to the line 7 times in the first. Indiana had a 8 point lead after the first quarter. But the Bobcats came out hot in the 2nd as they went on a 10-0 run with Gerald Wallace scoring 8 of these 10 points. He had 14 of his team-high 28 in the 2nd quarter alone and hit a buzzerbeater as the teams went into halftime. The Cats were still down by one. In the 3rd quarter the Pacers went on a 8-0 run with Danny Granger and TJ Ford scoring 6 and 7 apiece. Both teams struggled with fouls and the Pacers led by 4 at the end of the 3rd. The 4th quarter went back and forth. TJ Ford had some key turnovers and allowed the Bobcats to score easy points. He had a season high 7 turnovers in the game. WIth 1:20 left to play the Pacers were up by three and the Bobcats had possession. Stephen Jackson, who played decent minutes on SF got open for three but could not hit it. On the other end he made a bad foul to give TJ Ford the chance for a three point play. Ford gave the Pacers a 6 point lead and while the Bobcats again could not use their offensive possession, the Pacers did a good job on offense late in the game. With the Bobcats defense being all over Ford he kicked it out to Danny Granger, who hit the dagger for the Pacers. Granger had 27 points, Ford a game-high 32. Brandon Rush added 13 for the Pacers. Stephen Jackson who played 40 minutes because of Boris Diaw's foul trouble had 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Diaw added 16 and Raymond Felton 17 and 7 assists, but it was not enough. The Cats shot a stellar 26/30 from the line but only 1-10 from downtown.

Andrea Bargnani and Jose Calderon came up big late

Raptors' Euro connection spoils Bobcats

ImageImage
Charlotte, November 25th
After snatching their 9 game loosing streak the day before against the Indiana Pacers, the Toronto Raptors went on to beat the Bobcats on the road thanks to their late scoring spree. The game was all tied after three quarters as Toronto hit 4 shots without a miss to come out of the gates in the 4th. Having a decent 7 point lead the Raptors got a bit lazy on D and allowed the Bobcats to come back. Stephen Jackson hit a big three from one meter behind the line to give the Cats a 2 point lead. But the often criticized Italian Andrea Bargnani scored 8 points in a row to give the Raptors a 8 point lead with 2:40 left in the game. The Bobcats were never able to come back after this run.
But Charlotte did not play all too bad in this game. They led by 5 points at the half thanks to the poor shooting of the Raptors who needed almost 3 minutes to score their first basket of the game. Gerald Wallace came again up big with 10 points in the first. In the 2nd quarter the Raptors struggled with fouls as Jose Calderon and Marco Belinelli sat out with 3 fouls. Belinelli though scored a team high 20 points to continue his strong play. He is averaging 19.5 points in his last four games. The young Italian fouled out late in the 4th though. The Raptors were able to come back in the 3rd with Calderon scoring 7 points and Chris Bosh adding 5 of his only 11 points. He also had 13 boards. Andrea Bargnani added 14 rebounds and 15 points and Hedo Turkoglu had 14 in the Raptors second straight win.
For the Bobcats Gerald Wallace had a game-high 25 and Stephen Jackson added 23. Flip Murray had 9 points, 4 assists and 2 steals in 19 minutes and DJ Augustin scored 9 points in 8 minutes.
The Charlotte Bobcats drop to 2-12 as they give up their 3rd game in a row.

The King is not amused: Bobcats upset Cavaliers

ImageImage
Charlotte, November 27th
After loosing three straight the Charlotte Bobcats managed to surprise the number one Cleveland Cavaliers in the Time Warner Cable Arena. The Cavaliers, who came off a heavy statement win against the Pistons at the Palace, were not able to hold off the Bobcats. LeBron James had 26 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the Cavaliers' road win @Detroit, as the Cavs only allowed 55 points for the whole game (91-55). The Pistons only hit 18 of 74 shots and came short 6 points of the worst amount of points scored by a team. (Bulls - 1999).
In the first quarter the Bobcats did not start all too strong and fell behind by 6. Stephen Jackson scored 16 points in the first but LBJ countered with 11. In the second quarter the Bobcats went on a run thanks to solid play by their complete roster. Stephen Jackson scored 9 points and Gerald Henderson added 7 to lift the Bobcats to a 9 point lead at the half. "I don't know what happened. Maybe not everyone on the team took these guys serious. Those are the losses that happen, but they happen too often for us right now. First the Sixers, now the Cats. We gotta step up", a not amused James said after the game. Behind good play by Flip Murray, who had 16 points in 26 minutes, the Bobcats held on their lead in the 3rd. Stephen Jackson could not miss from downtown. He was 8-11 for the game tying his career-high in three point field goals made from the 2002 season. The Cavaliers were not able to come back and rested their stars in the end to give the Bobcats a big home win. LeBron James had 28 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Shaquille O'Neal added 17 and 8 and Anthony Parker had 19 points. But the Bobcats had 6 players in double figures with Jackson leading the way with 33 points. Gerald Wallace added 10 and 11 boards. The Cavs suffer their 2nd loss in the last 5 games.

The Bobcats celebrate their first consecutive wins

Charlotte wins shootout in Washington

Washington, November 28th
In the end, it looked like a private duel between two guys who have often proved to be capable of doing big things. Stephen Jackson who looks like being in the best shape of all time on the Bobcats, and Gilbert Arenas who had shown before that he is back this season, had a shootout you won't see often these days. Jackson had 40 points and hit the game winning shot to lift Charlotte over the Wizards and Arenas, who scored 43 points on 14-31 shooting. Both teams did not show a great effort on defense and thus the game was a dynamic, high scoring affair. The Bobcats came out hot in the first as Gerald Wallace scored 10 points, Boris Diaw added 8 and Stephen Jackson 6 points. The Wizards had no foul in the first quarter and made it easy for the Cats to score inside baskets. Gilbert Arenas started his show in the first with 11 points. The Bobcats led by 2 however. In the 2nd quarter Raymond Felton came up big and scored 8 points and Rookie Gerald Henderson added 7 but the Wizards relied on Arenas and Nick Young who scored 9 apiece to give the Wizards a 4 point lead at the half.
In the 3rd quarter the Wizard went on a big run. Arenas scored 14 points consisting of drives, threes and pull up jumpers, just the whole repertoire. Washington grabbed a 13 point leader when Stephen Jackson decided to take over. He scored 13 of his 40 in the 3rd and cut the deficit to 4 after three. In the 4th both teams battled hard. Newly acquired Earl Boykins scored 8 in a row, two threes and one mid range shot two bring the Wizards up by 12. But sophomore DJ Augustin answered back. He hit a mid range jumper with the foul by Arenas and led the team with Ray Felton resting. It was Augustin who tied the game at 99 with a layup after a strong urge by the Cats. Arenas and Jackson then went back and forth hitting jumpers respectively. The game was tied at 110 with 11.3 seconds left in the game. Stephen Jackson got the ball downlow and posted up Randy Foye. Before the double could help out he faded away and hit the shot to give the Cats a 2 point lead. The Bobcats then fouled Gilbert Arenas to send him to the line.
"You know this guy, when he's hot he can hit the three over the defender. I did not want him to hit the dagger and said we had to foul him", Coach Hov told the press afterwards.
And it was a good decision by Hov. Arenas missed one of two and the Wizards had to foul. DJ Augustin hit two free throws and Tyson Chandler one to seal the deal for the Cats, who won their first consecutive games of the season and are at 4-12 right now.

D-Wade scores 41 in Florida battle
Dwyane Wade showed why he is the leading scorer of the league with just over 30 points per game as he scored a game high 41 points to lift the Heat past the Magic, 107-88.

CP3 handss Bucks third consecutive loss
Chris Paul is not playing a good season so far. The Hornets are below expectations and Paul's averages are all career lows. But he showed a classic CP3 performance against the Bucks. Paul scored 35 points and dished out 13 assists to beat Brandon Jennings and the Bucks who suffer their third consecutive loss. CP3 also added 7 rebounds in the 80-101 win.
