THE FACTS: The Hawks have been a very good road team and the Clippers have been a good home team, in this team the road team won. VDN decided to try a half court offense instead of the typical run-n-gun offense they have been using all season. The reason because the Hawks were using a small lineup with Joe Johnson playing SF, VDN thought a steady offense would allow the Clippers bigs to dominate the inside. Little did they know, Josh Smith was going to be everywhere. Smith's stats may not show it, but he was a part of every single defensive play, most of which having to do with containing Blake Griffin to only 6 points after 3Q. Still, the game was very close with the biggest lead all night being 9 points. VDN decided to abandon the half court sets in the 2nd half, but with Blake Griffin in foul trouble and Eric Gordon struggling, the Hawks would cruise to another road victory, going 4-1 on their current road trip. Wilson Chandler was hot in the first half, but cooled in the 2nd. Jamal Crawford on the other hand was hot all night scoring a season high 40 points to seal the game.
THE STAT: The Hawks owned it on the free throw line making 32 of 40 attempts, the Clippers shot a better percentage but only attempted 16 FT, making 14 of them. The Clippers 26 fouls compared to the Hawks 9 was the difference maker
QUOTABLE: Blake Griffin, "Some games just go that way...You just have to look forward and get ready for the next game."
HOT: The half court offense the Clippers used in the first half lead to a great shooting night for Wilson Chandler going 4-4 from the 3PT line, 5-6 from the floor, his only missed shot was a blocked shot
NOT: Blake Griffin struggled on offense, scoring only 6 points after 3Q (only 1 dunk per quarter)
GOOD MOVE: On the fast break, Eric Bledsoe crossed up the defense and instantly threw a lob for Blake Griffin
BAD MOVE: With the Clippers down by only 2, Baron Davis had the ball on the fast break and tried to throw a though lob to Wilson Chandler on the wing, but the ball just sailed out of bounds as veteran Joe Johnson kept Chandler from getting to the basket
Injuries: Joe Johnson bruised his hip midway through the 2Q, training staff took a look at him, but he continued to play through the game

THE FACTS: The Jazz have been a poor home team, but Clippers have been a poor road team, put that together and it lead to the Jazz snapping their 7 game losing streak. The last time these two teams met, Deron Williams was still a Jazz. Now with Devin Harris running the show, he was able to get Blake Griffin on the bench in foul trouble in their first two possessions of the game. The Clippers, exhausted from their loss last night to the Hawks, would continue on to their worst quarter performance of the season and would have seemed to continue the trend in the 2Q if not for Eric Gordon catching on fire, making 5 3PT shots in the final 4 minutes to tie the game going into half time. Poor execution would continue for the Clippers in the 3Q, until Eric Gordon would spark the offense and give the Clippers their highest lead of the night at 9, but Devin Harris continued to drive in the paint and get the Jazz back in the game. In the 4Q, exhaustion could clearly be seen in the Clippers as they again started to trail. 4 consecutive 3PT shots from Wilson Chandler would give the Clippers a small lead. The Clippers were up by 3 in the final minutes of the game, but they could not match the energy the Jazz had as Devin Harris and Mikael Peitrus would take over the game in the final moments and seal it for the Jazz, ending their 7-game losing streak while the Clippers drop to 3rd in the Western Conference.
THE STAT: Devin Harris shot 20 of 23 from the free throw line, the Clippers as a team shot 15 of 21 from the free throw line
QUOTABLE: Baron Davis on his technical foul, "I was just looking out for my guys...the refs were calling stuff for them [Jazz] and nothing for us [Clippers]. I had to say something....some home court advantage huh?"
HOT: In the final 4 minutes of the 2Q Eric Gordon hit 5 3PT shots to tie the game at the half, he also tied the franchise record for most 3PT shots made in a quarter (Quentin Richardson & Norm Nixon), that going along with another her made in the 1Q, he also tied the franchise record for most 3PT shots made in a half (Norm Nixon)
NOT: Baron Davis struggle on offense, it wasn't just his shot this time, but he had a season low 3 assists
GOOD MOVE: Eric Gordon cleanly blocked Mikael Peitrus' shot attempt and ran it back for a highflying dunk
BAD MOVE: Without the game being even a minute old, Devin Harris drew 2 quick fouls on Blake Griffin on the Jazz's first two offensive possessions, Blake Griffin would not reenter until the 2Q which he played the entire quarter

BARON DAVIS FINED![]()
The Commissioner David Stern has issued Clippers' guard Baron Davis a flagrant foul and fined him $1,000 for taking down Devin Harris in their loss against the Jazz in Utah on February 28, 2011.
The play in question:
The referees originally did not call anything on the play, but the league was watching the game and after reviewing the play has decided that Baron Davis actions were excessive, thus warranting a flagrant foul.
Baron Davis was also issued a Technical Foul earlier in the game after mouthing off to one of the referees. After the game he also commented how the fouls were only going in the Jazz's favor, claiming home court advantage. Sources say that these comments are what got the commissioner and the league to review the play in the first place. A way to keep players in check.
Neither David Stern or Baron Davis could be reached for comments.

THE FACTS: In their last matchup, Dirk Nowitzki did not play due to an injury, but that did not stop Caron Butler and Jason Terry from dominating the game. This time around Dirk is playing and between him and Caron Butler they controlled both ends of the floor against the Clippers. It did not help with Eric Gordon and Blake Griffin struggling from the Mavericks defense. Eric Gordon missed his first 7 shots and did not score until the 2Q. The Mavericks lead grew as high as 20 points in the first half, but the Clippers kept fighting and eventually got it down to 10, but a strong offense performance by the Mavericks pushed the lead back up to 17 by halftime. In the 3Q, the Clippers got hot from the 3 point line, even Blake Griffin hit 3 of them, and late in that quarter they got as close as 8 before the Mavericks would oppose their strong play again and push the lead back to double digits. In the 4Q the Clippers made a big run by not allowing them to get a field goal until 4 minutes into the quarter. With only 6 minutes left in the game, Eric Gordon came up with a steal and then a fast break alley-oop to Blake Griffin to cut the lead down to 4. But soon after the Clippers game up 9 straight points to be behind by double digits again. The final 2 minutes became a shootout for the Clippers as they tired to make a late desperation comeback, but unfortunately for them the Mavericks started hitting from beyond the arc as well. In the end the lead and the constant pressure being applied by the Mavericks was just too much for the Clippers to over come as they drop their 3rd straight game.
THE STAT: Baron Davis nearly recorded a triple-double in their loss tonight, 23 points-15 assists-7 rebounds
QUOTABLE: With 2.2 seconds in the 3Q, Blake Griffin stuck into the play to steal the ball and score a much needed basket, this is what he had to say about it: Blake Griffin, "I knew we were down and needed a bucket. I didn't think they were going to set an offense, just in bound the ball. So I just jumped in there and got it."
HOT: Rodrigue Beaubois scored 12 points on 5-5 shooting, including a 3 pointer, in only 9 minutes of playing time
NOT: The Clippers bench was outscored 17 to 37
GOOD MOVE: With only 6 minutes left in the game, Eric Gordon came up with a steal and then a fast break alley-oop to Blake Griffin to cut the lead down to 4
DEFENSIVE GEM: Jason Kidd passed by Baron Davis and thought he could lay it up around Blake Griffin, little did he know Eric Gordon was lurking on the weakside and got a massive block
BAD MOVE: The newest Maverick Corey Brewer went up for a jumpshot, contested by Wilson Chandler, DeAndre Jordan, and Blake Griffin, he ended up shooting an airball, and along with it a chant from the fans, "AIIIIIIRRRRRRRR-BAAAALLLLL!"

THE FACTS: The Clippers came out with something to prove after losing 3 straight games. Baron Davis continued his offense tear as he was the leading scorer in the 1Q when the game was close. It was fast passed, high scoring game as the Clippers came up with 28 fast break points. The Clippers realized something early on, Baron Davis was too strong for Raymond Felton to guard and had his way and then Eric Bledsoe was too fast for Raymond Felton and just continued to blow by him right away, often setting up the offense before Felton can catchup into the front court. Felton, a candidate for MIP, had his worst night of the season as he struggled to guard either of the Clippers point guards. Blake Griffin had a quite night with 22 points and a season low 3 rebounds because he was limited in minutes due to foul trouble. Luckily, Eric Gordon, who struggled in the first half again, put on his best Blake Griffin impersonation in the 3Q and put on a dunkfest for the crowd. But the real star of the night was Baron Davis, who not only got himself involved scoring 33 points, but also got his teammates involved with 21 assists. By the 4Q the Clippers had enjoyed leads as high as 29 points. The reserves played most of the 4Q minutes allowing the starters to rest up for their next game against their rivals, the LA Lakers
THE STAT: The Baron Davis show took over in the 3Q as he lead the Clippers to score 50 points in that quarter alone
QUOTABLE: Baron Davis, "Some nights you feel it and some nights you don't. For those nights you are feeling it though....it's on!"
HOT: This is now the second game since the fine than Baron Davis has turned on his scoring, he put up a season high 33 points to go along with 21 assits
NOT: All-Star Raymond Felton, a leading candidate for MIP, had a horrible night scoring only on 4 of 18 shots and turning the ball over 12 times
GOOD MOVE: Eric Gordon was doing his best Blake Griffin impersonation in the 3Q when he put the ball behind his back before throwing down a reverse jam
BAD MOVE: Wilson Chandler got the ball on the fast break and blew a wide open, point-blank layup
