THE FACTS: This was expected to be a very fast pasted game, and even more exciting as Warriors fans get to be the first to see Blake Griffin in action. Warriors fans were not disappointed as Blake Griffin put on a show, by scoring 40 points and almost recording a triple-double, oh and the Warriors won in a blowout.
THE STAT: How does a team shoot 54% from the field, keep their opponent to only 43%, out-assists 32 to 28, out-rebound 52 to 39, block more shots 8 to 6, and score 30 more points in the paint (76 to 46), and still lose!? Easy, let them hit 12 three pointers and turn the ball over 33 times!
QUOTABLE: Blake Griffin on his near triple-double "Those things don't matter to me, I played terribly, my 7 turnovers really hurt the team. We need to play better together to get a win."
HOT: Blake Griffin's debut in the NBA read like this:
36 mins, 40 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 blocks, 7 turnovers, 18/27 (67%) FG, 1/1 (100%) 3PT
NOT: Ryan Gomes shot a miserable 2/7 (28%) from the field
GOOD MOVE: Blake Griffin rebounded the ball with less than 10 seconds to go at the end for the 1Q, went coast-to-coast and made a floater with 0.9 seconds remaining to put the Clippers within 3 points. The Clippers would take the momentum into the 2Q and even take a lead as high as 6 points before letting the Warriors rain 3 pointers after 3 pointers
BAD MOVE: Clippers had 33 turnovers in the game and allowed the Warriors to shoot 12 3-pointers (12/23 - 52%), also Eric Gordon was in foul trouble most of the game, but still managed to score 25 points - sadly he was the teams second leading scorer despite limited minutes
Injuries: Craig Smith did not dress for the Clippers
Monta Ellis collided with Chris Kaman late in the 3Q and had to leave the game with a lower back strain, he is expected to be out 1-2 weeks.
Reggie Williams did not leave the game, but after reported a bruised tailbone.

BLAKE GRIFFIN & ANDREA BARGNANI NAMED PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Congratulations to Blake Griffin for earning player of the week in his first week in the NBA. Despite losing to the Warriors, his play has quickly proved all the doubters about his recovery from knee injury.
To put this in perspective, Blake Griffin's 40 points was only 1 point away from the Clippers rookie record (set by Eric Gordon) and is currently the highest point total recorded by anyone in the league so far in this early season.
Blake Griffin's stat line:
40 points, 18/27 (67%) FG, 3/5 (60%) FT, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 0 steals, 2 blocks, 7 turnovers

LEWIS-LANDRY SWAP TEAMS
Incoming: PF Carl Landry (1YR/$3M), C Samuel Dalembert (1YR/$13.43M)
Incoming: SF Rashard Lewis (3YRS/$63.42M - $19.57M '10-'11), PF Trevor Booker (2YR/$2.54M - $1.24M '10-'11), C Hamady Ndiaye (1YR/$473K)
The Sacramento Kings and Washington Wizards have announced a 5-player trade today, headlining Carl Landry and Rashard Lewis.
Lewis has been in trade rumors every since he was obtained from the Orlando Magic in a trade that moved Gilbert Arenas to Florida. Lewis joined a team that had a glut of talent in both forward positions, with Andray Blatche, Josh Howard, Al Thornton, and Yi Jianlian. Also with the addition of SG Allen Iverson, Nick Young has been trying to get as many minutes possible from the SF spot as well.
Rumors first stated the he may find his way to join Milwaukee to join Brandon Jennings and Andrew Bogut, but nothing ever materialized. Nothing until the Kings were rumored to be open to moving PF Carl Landry. The Wizards instantly made a strong offer.
Carl Landry was expected to do big things with more minutes since being traded from the Houston Rockets a few seasons ago, but has not been able to preform as strong in a starting role for the Kings. This move will allow Landry to return to the bench and back up Andray Blatche. When rumors first started with Landry, he was quoted saying, "Whatever happens, happens."
The addition of Lewis for the Kings comes at the right time as they have been falling out of favor with Donte Greene and Omri Casspi is still hurting with knee tendinitis. Lewis fills a major hole in the Kings lineup while Jason Thompson is expected to be successful in the minutes Landry has made available.
ROY OUT 6 TO 8 WEEKS WITH A BROKEN BACK
All-Star Brandon Roy broke his back early in the 3Q against the Toronto Raptors. He was going up for a dunk on a fast break where he was brought down hard by DeMar DeRozan. DeRozan was trying to make a play on the ball and was not intentionally trying to hurt Roy. The severity of the play forced officials to charge DeRozan with a Flagrant 1 foul and prompted to eject him from the game.
DeRozan is not expected to receive any additional punishment, but the league is reviewing the incident.
Roy on the other hand will be out 6 to 8 weeks. the Trailblazers free agent splash, Wesley Matthews, will need to step up in Roy's absence if they still have plans on making the playoffs.
In other news: Greg Oden is surprisingly health.
