Chapter 5 - Not so perfect...

December 7,Berto Center(Bulls Training facilities) - Minutes after the evening practice session had ended ,all the players were heading into their cars. Greg Monroe put his bag into the trunk of his new Hummer H3 SUV, which bought a week ago ,as he established himself a little better into Chi-Town.

"Hey Jo!" He said to Noah, who was coming out of the building, and was clearly distinguished by his hair " Do you want me to throw you somewhere?"

"No,thanks bro "He replied "I'm just waiting for my girl to pass by. We're going out tonight for a dinner in Deerfield"

"Oh,ok. Have a nice time then!" He switched on his engine, and drove out of the parking lot.

[... ]

5 minutes after ,Greg opened his car radio, and tuned to ESPN Chicago. It had the Sport Headlines...

"... Chicago Bulls won the San Antonio Spurs yesterday night, 92-93 ,with a clutch dunk by Tracy McGrady, who stated on the press that he feels revitalized after his trade on the Bulls.

Chicago Bulls' young Center out of Georgetown, Greg Monroe, will be honored by his University,as his jersey number will be retired on a special ceremony. The young center, who will visit the University of Georgetown in a week, in order to attend the ceremony, stating after the match with San Antonio, that he feels really honored and happy to be considered that good in order to have his jersey retired."

He laughed with satisfaction after listening to these news, but his cellphone interrupted his listening.

"Hello?" He answered the phone. it was by a private caller.

"You must feel honored from the retirement of your jersey, right?"the mysterious caller said.

"yeah,but who is it?"Greg replied

"A person who should have been at your place!"he yelled "I'm the one who should have had his jersey retired! I'm one of the best big men in Georgetown history!!"

"Ok. But what can I do for you?" Said Monroe, who was equally irritated as confused by this.

"You can do something! You'll pay for those who forgot me!"
He yelled again. Greg realized that the person he was talking with wasn't on his mind

"Bro, are you nu..."He tried to say,but he was interrupted by 2 shots ,which hit his back right tire. Those shots were followed by a bang, and a clear indication that his tire had flatted out
"What the f..."He yelled,as he lost a little the balance of his car, which was rammed at once by a black SUV,before he could do anything to in order to control the car.

He had now lost the control of his car completely, which got off the road, and hit a pine tree. Greg felt a hard bounce, and a great pain coming from his back and his foot. His head was also aching. It was ready to explode.

He faded away, waking up at a hospital 2 hours later....

Chapter 6

Northwestern Memorial Hospital , 1 hour after the incident. Greg Monroe is on Emergency Room, while Bulls GM George Koukoulis, head Coach Tom Thibodeau and Monroe's good friend and tutor both on Detroit and Chicago the previous months,Chris Wilcox entered the hospital.

"What happened? " Wilcox asked

"The only thing we learned is that he had an accident with his car.He crashed on with a tree while going to his home after the practice." Koukoulis replied

"Do we know his situation? Is he ok?" Wilcox asked anxiously. He had a bad feeling about it.

"Calm down Chris." Thibodeau said to him "He's on the right hands"

"I'm going to get us some coffee for the wait" George said "if you learn anything, let me know"

[...]

Ten minutes after, Monroe's doctor headed out from the Emergency Room. He went towards the place Koukoulis,Thibodeau and Wilcox were sitting.

"Is he ok doc?" Wilcox asked

"Mr. Monroe is out of danger." he insured "But,we encountered some problems"

None of the three was sure whether to calm or not. After a moment of silence Koukoulis said

"So,he will be ok. But not entirely?"

"Well, let me explain you" Doctor started talking " He had several damage on his body from the strong collision. His foot seems to be broken, while he has some problems with his back as well. But the most important is that he has no internal bleeding or concussion, and he's not mentally affected by the crash. We will know more after the examinations" He concluded.

"So,he's out for the season?" Thibodeau asked

"I'm afraid so. After the labs we will know for sure whether he will be able to play basketball at high level again, because his crash was too strong and we may find another problem" The doctor noted

"Crap..." Both Koukoulis and Wilcox said, while Thibodeau remained skeptical. Wilcox's bad feeling was true...
"Thanks for the information Doc" Koukoulis said

"When can we visit him?"asked Wilcox before the doctor would leave

"Tomorrow."he replied "He would better calm down a little tonight"

[...]
Somewhere in Chicago, 30 minutes later. A man was sitting on a McDonald's resaurant, eating his Big Mac with fries, while listening on the radio.
"Chicago Bulls young Center,Greg Monroe, had a terrible car accident on his way back from Bulls' training session. The young man's car hit a tree, after being out railed from it's path, and driven out of the road. Accident's causes remain unknown, as there was no slippery surface near, that would outbalance the car. The athlete is out of danger, but he has suffered several bone fractures, which can ruin his NBA career, even before it actually started " The report concluded

The man smiled with joy.He knew his jealousy was satisfied....

I remember seeing a Ewing Georgetown jersey on display at the Basketball Hall of Fame on a picture, so I doubt its Ewing (the caller said he should have had his number retired  ) ... not Mourning, he's a nice man. It's Hibbert to me!

Nice to see predictions coming up (Y) I've decided to raise the points of the first question by 20,because of it's difficulty, and the variety of options. So the winner will get a great boost there (Y)

For those who want, send me your infos in pm ,i might extend the Draft Class of 2011 to more people if it is needed.
And as bombdiggity is inactive for about 2 months,i'm going to get him out of the 2011 draft, maybe put him on the next one,if he returns at a later time.

So keep em coming!

T-Mac scores 27, as Bulls bounce back in win over Mavs

Before this game there was no person that could think that T-Mac would be the top scorer of the game. None would think as well that he could take the team on his(weak by the injuries) back and lead them to a blowout win over Dallas Mavericks. But all of them were amazed by the huge performance T-Mac showcased today, giving us a glimpse of vintage T-Mac,who made a name for him self in Houston and Orlando, and would be even greater if it hadn't been for the injuries.

Dallas just couldn't cope with Bulls' terrific game offensive, scoring many points and not slowing down. Having Derrick Rose on his usual double-double performance in two parts today, scoring 14 on the 1st half and being a leader on offense, and then dishing 10 assists on the second half to help on the creative part of Bulls game, Kyle Korver playing again what he can play, being a prolific scorer and a red hot player, Hoozy Boozy stepping up his game from match to match, adding another double digit game with 12 pts,and Joakim Noah being a monster on the paint, grabbing 13 rebounds and having 4 blocks(though he scored only 4 points, again not good offensively), Bulls just couldn't loss that one.

"I'm too happy to play like that. I feel totally revived here and I will say it again and again whenever I have the opportunity to do so" Said T-Mac "This win is for Greg ,who can't play with us after his terrible accident. We all hope there is a way he can return to the team, and we will all support him,on his try to come back strong" added McGrady emotionaly
