Hey guys, just a heads up:

We're into the the next month already and this is where I will be playing/simming games. If you want results for the simmed games then there will be a section in the very first post especially for it. There will be no updates for the simmed games so you will have to check in with that section for the results.

Miami, Florida (AP)- The Miami Heat will look to defend their home against the Philadelphia 76ers in this Eastern Conference rivalry game.

Dwyane Wade has been on an all-star surge as of late and will try and fend off Andre Iguodala and the 76ers. Wade, averaging 28.3 points per contest is playing superb ball and is getting help from everyone on the roster, thanks in part to GM Fajardo. Michael Beasley is looking like he can be the rookie of the year if he continues to put up the numberes he's putting up. Beasley is averaging 24 points a game with 7 boards a game as well.

Adam Morrison has proven in the last game that he can be the 6th man for Miami as he scored 22 points in his last game against his former team. Now, with the addition of Hakim Warrick to that front line, Miami could have a very interesting bench unit this season. Warrick is averaging 18 points game- look for that to increase as the season goes along, especially under Erik Spoelstra and GM Fajardo.

The 76ers are coming into the game 2-2 as they are being led by Andre Iguodala who is averaging 18 points a game. Iggy will look to hand the Heat their first loss of the season with the help of Andre Miller who is averaging 12 points a game and 8 assists a game.

And with that, we bring you to our "Key Matchup of the Day!"

::Key Matchup of the Day::

#9 Andre Iguodala v. #3 Dwyane Wade

This will be a great amtch between two top scorers in the league. However, I would have to give this match-up to Wade as he is playing as if theres no tomorrow! Wades 28 points a game will be shown at home against Iggy's 18 points. However, Iguodala can spark at any time and can do spectacular things on the court when he's hot.

In general, if the two players play at the top of their games then this could be a great matchup to watch.

Maybe you should combine Blounts big contract with cook or quinn and try to get a consistent point guard to back up chalmbers.

Not a bad idea. But I'll wait a long while before i make another trade. Plus, I kinda like Quinn but if all else fails I'll mos def look into getting a back up point with consistency...

Hey guys, quick question... does the fatigue play a huge role in the way the player plays in the game? cuss im looking at the 76ers and andre miller is exhausted (Full fatigue bar), Iggy is tired (almost full bar), thaddeus young is tired (look at iggy), elton brand is exhausted (look at miller), and dalembert is exhausted (miller).

so how will that affect their gameplay when i play em?

"Wade, Defense, Give Heat Easy Win Over 76ers"

Miami, Florida (AP)- This wasn't even a close one to call. Right from the gates Miami showed its superb defense and offense and threw it all at Andre Iguodala and Philadelphia 76ers as the Heat won 103-73.

Dwyane Wade gave the fans yet another All-Star game with 28 points, 4 assists and 4 steals leading all scorers. Wade, who shot a mere 10 of 27, got most of his points from behind the charity line as hit 8 of 11. "All I was trying to do was attack the rim. I knew that I could make those shots and if not, I knew they would foul me to stop me," said Wade after the game. Beasley added 16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and a block before having to come out of the 4th quarter with a sprained ankle (More on this injury later).

Adam Morrison proved to be a great addition to the team as he had 22 points on 8 of 16 shooting plus 1 block. "He was great off the bench for us," Erik Spoelstra said during the post-game show. "If he can be this consistent off the bench, we might actually have a good shot in the playoffs." Jermaine O'Neal had 9 points to go with 10 rebounds and also went 7 for 8 behind the line.

For the 76ers, Andre Iguodala and Willie Green were the only two players in double figures in scoring as the 3rd highest scorer on the team was Samuel Dalembert, who had 7 points. Andre Iguodala had 16 points and 8 rebounds as he just couldn't fend off the Miami Heat by himself. "They played us great. We were all tired from the previous game, so that really took its toll. You can't be tired when you play the Heat because they can and will run it down your throats," says Iguodala after the game.

Andre Miller wasn't of much help but dished out 8 dimes and WIllie Green led the 76ers in scoring with 19 points.

Game Notes: The 76ers are the 3rd team that Miami has kept under 40% shooting. Philadelphia shot 30%. Miami had 20 steals and 9 blocked shots in yet another great defensive game. Miami's bench played extremely well scoring 44 points.

Beasley Injury: Gone for 7 Days

Image
Beasley (above) will be out of the lineup for 7 days

Miami, Florida (AP)- A minor blow to the Miami Heat as SF, Michael Beasley, will be missing 7 days worth of action due to a sprainedankle he received after landing awkwardly in the teams win against the 76ers. Fortunately, Beasley is participating in light practices as he slowly looks to recover in time for the teams home game against the Portland Trailblazers.

However, until that time, it looks as if Beasley will be out of the line-up and out of play as Adam Morrison will take the starting 3 spot and James Jones will look to get some playing time in order to heal Beasley's ankle faster.

::We're Lucky::

After getting his MRI, Beasley's test concluded that he had suffered a minor injury; a sprained ankle, after landing awkwardly in the Phildelphia game. "Does that hurt?" said the teams trainer. As he twisted Beasleys ankle slightly. "Ahh, just a little. Its not that bad," said Beasley. As the trainer continued to tend to Beasley, GM Fajardo came in with Spoelstra with a look of concern. "Hey mike, how r u feeling? Feel any pain?" asked Spoelstra. "Naw coach. There's pain, but its not that bad."

The trainer sat up and told Spoelstra and Fajardo, "Beasley will be fine. Luckily it was just a minor sprain. He should only be out for 7-8 days tops. However, he should look on resting it." Spoelstra thought about it and came with a conclusion, "Hey mike, listen, you're young and hopefully u understand but im going to bench you for the 7-8 days. Ill play u on the 7th day and well see how u r from there. No sense in risking further injury to that leg." With a look of disappointment, Beasley replied, "Yeah, I understand. I feel like im letting the team down though and- owww!" the trainer twisted the ankle a bit more to make sure on his analysis. "Sorry," said the trainer.

Jon intervened, "Listen mike, you might feel like your letting the guys down but don't you think they'd rather play with a healthy Beasley or a injured one. Especially if we plan on going into the playoffs. We simply can't afford to aggravate that ankle of urs." "Yeah, ur right. Okay. I'll heal it and be back to help the team." Replied Beasley.

As they left, Jon turned to Spoelstra and asked him what the plan was and Spoelstra responded, "I'll start Morrison and give James Jones playing time till Beasley comes back. I think we'll be fine till Beasley comes back."

"I hope so," Jon said. And the two went to their separate ways: Spoelstra to the locker room, and Fajardo his office.

With Beasley out, how will this affect the team heading into their game against the San Antonio Spurs?

::New Orleans Arena::

New Orleans, Louisiana (AP)- New Orleans is coming off a 95-91 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats, the team that the Miami Heat dominated not too long ago. If the Hornets can barely come off with a win against Charlotte, maybe they'll have n even tougher time against Miami.

Chris Paul is looking to lead his team, like he has been doing since he's gotten into the league, past the fast paced Miami Heat led by Dwyane Wade. Stat-wise, the Heat easily got this one in the bag. The Miami Heat have allowed only 76 points a game against the Hornets' 96 points allowed a game. The Hornets will need to be playing big defense if they plan on holding Miami to under 96, or at least score the ball with a higher percentage than Miami. Miami and New Orleans are shooting close percentages but Miami also takes that category with 47% on the season.

Chandler and David West will need to work hard on the glass if they plan on helping there teams get that W because Miami is coming into the game averaging 8 more boards than they do. Rebounds can dictate the flow of the game and can be a huge factor as to who wins. And last, if Miami can stay aggressive and get to the line they can shut out the Hornets easily. The Miami Heat are 2nd in the league in free throw attempts this season so far with 141 attempts (Thanks in part to Dwyane Wade).

And with that, we bring you to our "Key Matchup of the Day!"

::Key Matchup of the Day::

Image Image
#0 Mario Chalmers v. #3 Chris Paul

This will be Chalmers' first chance at showing what he can do against an elite point guard in Chris Paul. Paul is having a slow start averaging 16 points a game and 4.6 assists per game. However, Paul is the kind of guy that can get hot on any given night. His speed will no doubt be a factor in the matchup, however, Chalmers height advantage could possibly slow Paul down.

Chalmers is averaging 6 assists and 2 steals per game so this game can be determined by how these two point guards can create shots for their teams. Chris Paul is averaging 3.2 steals so this match-up can be decided in a couple of ways. If it was defense, I'd still have to give it to the Heat just because they have been winning due to their defense. But don't rule out the Hornets yet.

This one could be a great game.

"Wade Carries Heat to Win"

(Click Team Banners for Box Score)

New Orleans, Louisiana (AP)- The New Orleans Hornets were looking to recover after a loss at Charlotte. However, they would have to face one of the NBA's most "don't sleep on them" teams in the Miami Heat. Unfortunately for the Hornets, they will have to look elsewhere as the Miami Heat won 99-85.

Both teams were sluggish in the first quarter as they just couldnt seem to get a shot in at all. Miami shot for 31% in the 1st quarter while the Hornets shot a low 28%. The second quarter was just a mericiless to the Hornets as it was in the 1st as they shot and even lower 20% from the field. This quarter however was perfect for the Miami Heat as they shot 62% from the field, being led by Dwyane Wade and his 21 points at halftime. Morrison was really stuggling on the court as he finished with points- but was active on defense with 3 steals.

Mario Chalmers had a 4th quarter surge as he scored 14 of his final 17 points in the 4th quarter alone so go along with 5 assists and 1 steal. Jermaine O'Neal recorded hsi first double double as a Heat with 12 points and 15 rebounds to go with 2 blocks on defense. Did we forget? Dwyane Wade ended the game with 37 points 4 assists and 4 steals (again!). Warrick almost had a double double with 8 points and 8 rebounds.

Things were pretty balanced on the Hornets' side of the ball as Peja Stojokovic had a team high 15 points to go with 6 rebounds. Chris Paul led his team in assists with 9 of those but had only 8 points in the game. Moe Peterson had 9 points but grabbed 13 rebounds, David West had a double double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, and yet another double double for Tyson Chandler with 11 points and a team high 16 rebounds.

Things were looking up for the Hornets as they led in the 1st quarter 26-21, but the 2nd quarter was real cruical quarter as they were outscored 29-14. This loss puts the Hornets at 2-4 on the season and boosts the Heat to 5-1.

Game Notes: The Hornet's were yet another team Miami kept under 40% shooting. The Miami Heat had 13 steals on a very active defensive night which included 8 blocks.

Injury Bug Continues in Miami

Image
Morrison (above) will be out of line-up for 10 days

Miami, Florida (AP)- The Miami Heat have suffered yet another blow to their Small Forward position. With Beasley looking to make a successful comeback against the Blazers, Morrison wil be in uniform, but out of the lineup as he suffered a strained MCL in the team's game against the Hornets.

Morrison, 24, will look to make a compelte recovery in 10 days in time for the Indiana Pacers as they will face them in Miami on November 22, 2008.

::America Airlines Arena::

Miami, Florida (AP)- The Heat will look to face a young and uprising team in the Portland Trailblazers. Being led by Brandon Roy and Lamarcus Aldridge, the Blazers are one the teams expected ot be in the playoffs this season. With Gred Oden holding it down in the middle, this Blazer team is as scary as any team out there.

Wade will need to bring his 28.4 points a game into this matchup as they have lost yet another shooter in Adam Morrison who will be sidelines in today's game due to a strained MCL. The good thing however, is that Michael beasley will look to make his return against the Blazers after suffering a strained ankle a week ago. However, it is confirmed that Beasley isn't 100% and will be playing short minute per quarter as he is expected to be 100% in time for their next game.

Jermaine O'Neal had a stellar game getting his first double double in the teams win over New Orleans. If he can pull of those statlines again, I think it would really take a load off of Dwyane Wade. Mario Chalmers came into his offense groove as he lit up 14 of his 17 points in the 4th against the Hornets so hopefully they haven't gotten ice cold because without Morrison and a 100% Michael Beasley, Wade will need all the help he can to fend off the Blazers.

For Portland, they have once rookie of they year, Brandon Roy leading them into this game. Roy is averaging 17 points a game and 7 assists per game. So look for this game to be highly decided on how well he performs. However, the Blazers have so much offensive talent that they might not even need Roy to give 100% to win. Lamarcus Aldridge is coming in averaging 17 points a game also, to go with almost 10 boards a game! If these two can get themselves established early, this could go be one hell of a back n forth game

Greg Oden is the talk of the town. After missing all of last year, Oden is coming into the game averaging 10 points a game and 8 boards a game. If I were Miami, I'd box this guy out every single time the ball is in the air because he can most positively finish with the best of them.

And with that, we bring you to our "Key Matchup of the Day!"

::Key Matchup of the Day::

Image Image
#7 Brandon Roy v. #3 Dwyane Wade

This match-up will be a best determined by who can get to the rim and make an impact. Roy, at 6'6" can drive to the lane and finish and or get fouled while scoring. Wade, can do the exact same! It will be a great sight seeing these two superstars go at it for 40 minutes however, in the end, only one will come out with their respective team a winner.

I'll look for Wade to pound the ball against Roy the whole game. And the same for Roy. But I like Wade and the Heats chance in this one. But if Portland makes the upset, well, it wouldn't be a surprise to me. This game is more of a toss up than a forsure victory for either team.

"Heat, Wade Coast to Win Over Blazers"

Image
Wade & Roy standing side by side during free throws

Image Image
(Click Team Banners for Box Score)

Miami, Florida (AP)- This was a very close game; in the first half. Miami's defense once again was the difference maker and took this Blazer team by the ankles and simply dragged them all over the arena as the Heat blew away the Trailblazers 121-92.

Miami had probably one of their best offensive games they've had in a long while! Miami shot 48 for 85 which is 56% from the field! Being led by not just Dwyane Wade, but by Mario Chalmers, Michael Beasley and Hakim Warrick. All four players scored above 20 points (With the exception of Chalmers, who had 19). The Miami Heat were simply lights out from every where inside the arc.

Beasley showed no signs of lag as he was fresh from his injury. Beasley scored 23 points in his comeback to go with 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Mario Chalmers tied the Heat record for steals with 8 steals in the game. He is tied with Tim Hardaway. Hakim Warrick had one of his better games scoring 22 points to go with 6 rebounds and Wade capped it off with 27 points, to go with 9 assists.

Brandon Roy and the Trailblazers kept it as close as they could. Unfortunately, they were only capable of keeping it close through the 1st half. Roy ended the game with a double double scoring 11 points and dishing out 11 dimes. But had a worse 7 turnovers. Jerryd Bayless led the team in points with 26 points off a 12 of 20 shooting night. Lamarcus Aldridge was not a problem for the Heat as he was in foul troublethe entire game and eventually fouled out in the 4th. Aldridge ended the game with 4 points and 6 rebounds.

Greg Oden had a 12 rebound night and Steve Blake had an 8 point, 8 assist night. The other bright light came from Martell Webster who scored 14 points and grabbed 6 boards.

Game Notes: Tim Hardaway was in attendance to see Chalmers tie his record. Portland was the 1st team to score 40% against Miami. Miami had 43 points off the bench. There was a sellout crowd tonight in Miami.

Hey guys, got a trade proposal but wanted to run it through you guys first...

Okay, so I was thinking about getting Channing Frye...

I tested the interest meter of Portland and it seems they'll take Jamaal Magloire along with my future 1st round pick for Frye and some other player making under a million...

Thought's on this trade?

I think it's nice because Magloire is already in his 10th year I think, Frye is way younger, but I think you should wait a little until you make another trade. :wink:

I personally like Magloire a lot. It depends on who the other player is you receive. But if it's youth you're looking for, then you should go with it.
