In reality a goaltend, but cool screen all the same. :)

I thought that too, but if you look at LeBron's block on Rondo it's the same story.

Yeah, sometimes the team tears itself apart by missing FG after FG.

It's not quite the same. In your screenshot, Jeffries arm is coming up through the bottom of the rim, a common occurrence in basketball video games that should technically be a goaltend. That's what I was referring to, if his arm were outside the rim it would just be a good block. But given the rim physics/interactions in NBA Live 10, we can call it a good block all the same. ;)

and considering it's Howard? Jeffries is probably headed to the ER immediately after that photo to reattach his severed arm lol

I think Jeffries disappeared from the game after that block.

10-game summary

The Rockets went a nice 8-2 in this 10-game stretch. Below are the top 5 Rockets whom are on fire this season:

5. Chase Budinger- In close games, he was able to hit contested shots in order for the Rockets to pull away. He especially lit up against the Mavs, hitting 3 straight shots in a row to help the Rockets to victory.

4. Donte Greene- A reliable back-up in case K-Mart isn't feeling it. He shows more confidence shooting 3's, and has quickly found his role and place on the Rockets bench.

3. Aaron Brooks- He can tell you that "sharing is caring". The leader on the team in assists (7.8 a game), he can also score, especially off some inbounds passes.

2. Kevin Martin- The leading Rockets scorer, and the most unorthodox jumpshot, he and his partner-in-crime Yao are the ones lifting the Rockets this season. A very reliable FT shooter (95%), and leader in FT makes and attempts, he proves to be a better version of Tracy McGrady.

1. Yao Ming- He can score, defend, rebound, and get those pesky other Centers in foul trouble. When he can't score on the low post, he relies on perimeter shooting. He is the main reason the Rockets have beaten big name teams this season, because he disables their big men, leaving an open field for those offensive rebounds.

These are the top 5 scoring options on the Rockets, and together, they hope to bring a third championship to the Rockets franchise this season.

3-game Recap

[26-4] Houston Rockets 105-108 Cleveland Cavaliers [19-12]

Image
Australian-born David Andersen made his NBA debut and had 9 points and 5 rebounds.

In a close game, the Rockets came out of Cleveland empty-handed and split the season series. Again, LeBron James wasn't the one who did the dirty work, but it was Mo Williams and Antawn Jamison. Mo Williams was the performer of the game with 27 points and 15 assists, while Jamison was the Cavs top scorer with 32 points and 10 rebounds. Kevin Martin tried himself in the clutch position, hitting 2 clutch threes and going 4/4 from behind the arc. But in the end the Cavs emerged victorious. Also note: Luis Scola is out with a sprained finger (injured in the simulated Nets game), and Jared Jeffries was out with a broken arm (blame Superman). David Andersen and Jermaine Taylor made their NBA debut. David said, "With two valuable players out, Jerry and I better try to make the most out of our playing time, as Scola will come back in two weeks."

The Rockets blew an 18 pont lead in the 2nd quarter, and the game was just bucket trading afterwards. Chris Paul was all over the game and he scored 20 points and dished out 11 assists. Yao was the performer of the game with 19 points, 11 boards, and 3 solid blocks to go with that.

The Rockets found themselves blowing another double-digit lead, this time 23. The Mavs got close in the 4th, coming within 9, but Bud's hatred against the Mavs showed again as he scored 15 points and helped the Rockets to a second consecutive win. The Rockets swept the season series against the Mavs for the first time since 1998.

Sometimes Andersen steals some of Yao's rebounds, that's one reason Yao has pulled less than his average (12.7), but yeah, he's a nice backup (or in this case starter), and I like using perimeter big men. :)

It's pretty rare for me to get the Chuckwagon to the line, but that game he went 2/4. I thought about using Shane Battier on either Mo or Jamison, but then he was doing a pretty good job on LeBron James, only allowing him to 24 points (compared to 30 the first time I faced the Cavs).
Hyperize. wrote:Isn't Jordan Hill 6-10, and Mo Williams only 6-1? :eh:

LeBron and Mo are closer to the "camera" than you think.

Yeah, but like I said, he's closer to the "camera" than he appears. Plus the guy has massive hops, so celebrating like that he would get more air time than most players. :D

Rockets sting the Hornets, again [30-5]

Postby Axel The Great on Sat Jun 05, 2010 5:15 am

2-game recap

[28-5] Houston Rockets 91-85 New Orleans Hornets [11-19]

Image
Bud delivers a stinging dunk.

The Rockets faced the Hornets again, this time at New Orleans, where the fans were fired up by former WWE Superstar Ric Flair (wooo!). The Rockets and Hornets were tied together throughout the whole game, the Rockets never got out to a double-digit lead. Chris Paul had a better scoring night with 27, and Emeka Okafor had 16 boards, but couldn't complete the double-double and only had 9 points.

SPOTG-

Hornets- Chris Paul- 27

Board Crashers-

Assists-
Rockets: Aaron Brooks- 7
Hornets: Chris Paul- 6

Yao didn't need a flyswatter to take on the Hornets.

Box Scores-
22 19 24 26 91
18 24 17 26 85

[29-5] Houston Rockets 86-69 Los Angeles Lakers [25-8]

The Rockets are 3-0 against the Lakers for the season series in an unexpected result. The first quarter was the most exciting quarter in the game, no bother watch the last 3. Derek Fisher was out with an injury, and the Lakers only scored one three. The Lakers looked like they just woke up from a nap, because their best player , Kobe, only scored 18. Both team's defenses were alert though, which contributed to this low scoring game. Overall, this game is meaningless to both teams, as it was probably the most boring game of the season. The Rockets head to Phoenix to look for an exciting game.

Announcement

I will be gone this coming week, as I am taking a trip to Orlando. I won't be playing any games obviously, but I might be able to surf around here, one way or another. :cheeky:

Thanks to all of those who read this dynasty, and for the next week, I might just read up on other dynasties on here.

Thanks. :D

Just disappointed the the Magic didn't get to the Finals, I might have joined in on a celebration party if they won game 2. I wouldn't see myself going to a Finals games, I don't have that kind of money. :(
