Peja, Bibby, and Mobley had big games, but you still came out with the win. Good job on that, Shawn Marion 18 boards

the powerhouses out East and the old rivalry out West (Y)

I remember Mario Elie thrusting a stake through the hearts of Barkley, KJ and any last championship hopes (Y) was one of my favourite NBA moments ever when Elie hit that baseline 3 and did the kiss to the crowd....gold moment :D

I'm hoping this playoff series brings similar drama

Nice work Mafia, an impressive sweep. Do you expect the Rockets to provide more of a challenge? They certainly seem to have developed a knack of eliminating higher seeds.

thanks, nice to see you back posting. a suns vs. pistons/heat championship would be great, but the rockets will be tough

thanks, i think the rockets will definitely be a challenge due to the fact that its harder for amare to dominate against yao. tmac didnt really do that much damage against me during the season, but i expect him to change that in the playoffs. they have been the sleeper in the playoffs, so it will be exciting.

Amare Stoudemire scored 19pts and grabbed 8 rebs in the Suns win

PHOENIX, Arizona (AP) -- The America West Arena was stunned in the first 3 quarters of Game 1 in the Western Conference Finals. Their high-powered offensive Suns' team only had 68 points after the 3rd quarter, but they still led by 10 points. The problem was that the Rockets had a chance of making a run in the 4th quarter because the game was going their way the entire time. "We let them control the game and they were shutting down our running game early," Marion said. "They did a great job on us, until in the 4th quarter when we broke out." The Suns really did break out, scoring 36 points in the quarter and making a total of eight 3-pointers in the quarter, while only missing three of them.

Jim Jackson returned to the lineup tonight which was unexpected, but he ended up playing 7 minutes and scoring 5 points along with grabbing 3 rebounds. "Since I was practicing, the coach wanted to give me a run tonight," Jackson said. "I'm feeling good, but I'm still not 100% yet, I'll say I'm about 85% as of now." The Suns shooting was very rigged in the early going, as they were 5-21 from downtown before heading into the 4th quarter. "We had too many turnovers in the game," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We only forced 10, but we ended up with 14 of our own." Houston wasn't shooting all that well either from the field at 40%, compared to the Suns 45%.

The Rockets missed 4 consecutive shots on their first 4 possessions of the 4th quarter and allowed the Suns to score 5 straight points that put them up 73-58. Tracy McGrady finally ended the streak by making a jumper to move the Rockets within' 75-60 with 10:11 left in the game. Phoenix grabbed their largest lead after Richardson was found on the wing for the open 3-pointer that put the Suns up 82-62 with 8:24 left in the game. After the Suns were able to reel off three straight 3-pointers on their last 3 trips, the Rockets still managed to keep the lead at 20 points with 5:51 left in the game. The Suns were shooting an amazing 6-7 from downtown in the 4th quarter. Joe Johnson added to the number by making his 3rd three of the night which put the Suns up 99-73. Steve Nash sealed the game after making a 25-foot shot as the shot clock expired to give Phoenix a 104-80 lead with under a minute left to play. Joe Johnson and Shawn Marion both scored 23 points apiece. Marion was just 3 assists shy of a triple double with 16 rebounds and 7 assists. Tracy McGrady led the Rockets with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and 8 of those 25 points coming from the 4th quarter.

thanks glad you liked it. i wanted to try and do something a little different for the preview, at least for game 1 because you always have something to talk about for the other games, but in game 1, you basically just talk about stats from the season so i just looked up alot of stats.

Eastern Conference Finals

(3) MIA vs. (5) DET 118-86 Pistons
Pistons lead series 1-0

That score really surprised me alot. I didn't think the Heat would get blown out by 32 points.

me neither, they lost by like 40 to the celtics in round 2, so i expect them to make a comeback, they are only down 1-0
