Hey, this is not funny... I think X fiddled with my injury rating... I could play with a dislocated neck, much less a sore one

Maybe you should try playing your guys less minutes.

Simmons only ghad a mior injury but brought him back into the game so I could beat the Warriors.....the price I paid I guess.....

could be....although the only matchup we'd have is who can eye the most hot girls in teh crowd (ala Paul Shirley) from the bench....who ever wins takes the series....

If you eye a good looking girl and Sit eventually gets to pork her how many points will each of you receive? This is a point system, isn't it? BTW, paul Shirley is hilarious.. (Y)

you can show me the high life of O-Town....

Eeeeerrrr, there's better night life in Jacksonville for all I know...

I know what it is, you want in on the game....unfortunately I don't think your team will make the playoffs

as for Paul Shirley, yeah, he's my type of guy....he's an NBA baller that I can associate with....and with that self-deprecating style of humour he has, anyone would think he was an Aussie or something :o

that it is Captain Kirk, that it is

reason why I was drinking in front of computer because I had come home from a bbq and did not feel like watching X Factor and the other crap that was on  I'm glad I didn't take Sit's advice and play any games....could have fallen out of my playoff spot

tell me you play the bugle, awesome instrument :D

but yeah, I don't think the team sucks right now, that's a bit harsh....just going through a rough patch, but now my team (and dweaver) is healthy again, so I think I will get back on the right track....

pHLo wrote:yeah... i hope that u'll make the playoffs... u're still in a playoff spot, right ?

yep, I'm still safely tucked in the 6th or 7th playoff spot....fortunately the East isn't as strong as in dweaver's Knicks dynasty or I'd be in trouble....

I play 58 game seasons so I'm just past the half-way point....I've done recaps up through 31 games, have already played the next 2 and will finish off the last 2 games of January today and post game and monthly recaps later tonight.....

Okay , that does it, First you deny me the infamous 'Detroit Warehouse' and now I don't even get to be a part of the 'NBA chick radar' game... This is totally unfair... Hah, I know what I'll do, I'll bring Bogut into my dynasty and shorten/widen him to Pero Cameron size... That'll teach ya...

my team (and dweaver) is healthy again

Hmmph.. I shouldn't have been injured in the first place... but I'll let this one slip...

I have to close 2007 NLSC draft entries if you are a PG....I've already got 9 1st Round PG prospects (Paul, Felton, D. Williams, Jack, Ukic, Gilchrist, CK, iLLuzionz and pHLo)....if you're another position then I can fit you in but it's getting crazy as far as PG talent goes at the moment, so if you want to be an NLSC prospect and you'll be a PG, you'll have to wait until 2008 draft

CATS WIN 3 OUT OF 4 TO CLOSE MONTH

Here goes the final 4 game recap for January 2007.

Jan 22, 2007 - Charlotte 103 @ Houston 86 [HUMAN GAME]

In the 1st half this game was very scrappy, and it wasn't until the 3rd quarter that the class of the Bobcats got up over the Rockets to move the team to a 17-15 record. Okafor and Arenas were bigtime for Charlotte, but the key to the victory was in stopping Yao and T-Mac who only combined for 17 of the Rockets' 78 shots from the field. Honor Glow really showed that he should be playing bigger minutes for the Rockets. Whenever he was on the court, which wasn't much, the team seemed to play better and he's a dead-eye shooter who doesn't mind putting his body on the line for the team.

Image
You can't blame Watson for confusing this game as a rugby game as he makes a diving tackle at Mo Taylor, with the ever-watchful Honor Glow shocked by the scene

Other pics:
Watson will know in future never to leave Glow this open as he drills a 3
'Meka shows T-Mac what he thinks of his past practice of not giving it all in games
Watson took offence to Glow stating that he had better abs. He was probably right, but Watson took it upon himself to initiate a situp contest during half-time

BPMM Points: Arenas 3pts, Okafor 2pts, Nene 1pt

Jan 24, 2007 - Charlotte 91 vs San Antonio 87 [INTERVENTION GAME]

Intervening in the 4th quarter and down by 4 points against the defending champion Spurs was always going to be a big test. Some clutch plays by Emeka Okafor and Marko Jaric proved to be the decisive factor in this one. The win improves the Bobcats to a 18-15 record.

Image
Marko Jaric's 3 in the dying minutes was a dagger that the young 'Cats needed to take this one

Other pics:
Newly signed Luis Scola hits a tough shot over Guy Dumars, but it was not enough in the end for the Spurs

BPMM Points: Jaric 3pts, Okafor 2pts, Dumars 1pt

Jan 28, 2007 - Charlotte 95 vs Houston 93 [SIMMED GAME]

The Bobcats used a strong 1st quarter against the Rockets to gain the upper hand, and spent the rest of the game scratching and clawing to hold onto the lead. They did, barely, as the team squeaked out a 2 point victory. Bobby Simmons had a superb game (24pts, 11rebs, 4asts, 4stls) and shut down Tracy McGrady (10pts on 4/20 FG & 1/9 3Pt), which in the end was probably the difference between the 2 teams. This is the team's 3rd straight victory and moves them to a 19-15 record.

BPMM Points: Simmons 3pts, Arenas 2pts, Jaric 1pt

Jan 29, 2007 - Charlotte 97 vs Cleveland 98 [HUMAN GAME]

This was a see-sawing game in which Drew Gooden and the Cavs played hard on the boards and defensively to keep the game close. In the end of the game, it came down to a shootout between Lebron James and Gilbert Arenas, but it was a controversial foul with 1.7 seconds to go on Drew Gooden, which led to him hitting 1 of his 2 free throws, that ended up splitting the 2 teams. This hard loss puts an end to the team's 3 game winning streak and it drops them to 19-16 with this loss.

Image
This Gilbert Arenas 3 should have been enough to put the game into OT, but a controversial call put an end to those hopes

Other pics:
Arenas goes up for the slam
It got really testy in this tightly fought matchup, with tempers flaring as "That Guy" showed a Rasheed Wallace-like rage as he shoved Eric Snow to the ground
High school prodigy Gerald Green had probably his best night as a pro as he hit a couple of jumpers
Despite his shooting struggles, Lebron was able to get up and throw one or two nasty dunks down
Walton hustled with the best of them in this game as he grabs another offensive rebound
Lebron James waited until late in the 4th to step his game up and this 3 pointer over a double-team was a huge basket for the Cavs

BPMM Points: Arenas 3pts, Walton 2pts, Van Exel 1pt

Unfortunately the game did have its casualties as Bobby Simmons went down with a foot injury.

Image
Just as everything seemed to be turning around for the Bobcats, Nene comes up grimacing in the team's heartbreaking loss to the Cavs

The verdict wasn't too good as Nene would miss at least the next 13 days of action.

I also updated the BPMM Leaderboard and the Record Book....January update will be put up either later tonight or in the next day or two....

enjoy

Nice results... you seem to be a lock-on for a playoff spot... Go 'cats!!!

LMAO at that situp contest pic...   Hassakis would have outlasted you both, though... you could play the piano on his sixpack...

Nene out, heh... I guess my little voodoo thingie worked... GIVE LUKE MORE PLAYING TIME or Arenas gets it next...

yeah, I win a few, lose a few, win a few, lose a few....fortunately I'm out East....

rather than having a 1-on-1 bball competition like Micchy_boy (which makes me wonder where Micchy_boy has gone) had in his Lakers dynasty, perhaps a 1-on-1 situp competition for NLSC-ers....the winner of each matchup moves to the next round....I took Honor Glow down in the 1st edition, so I'm through to Round 2

Nene out, heh... I guess my little voodoo thingie worked... GIVE LUKE MORE PLAYING TIME or Arenas gets it next...

you obviously weren't paying attention as I was giving him more time prior to Nene's injury....now you go and curse my team.... who knows, Arenas might go down with that sore toe again :(

now that I think about it, that Nene injury is very similar to GA's last year....what the hell is going on with all my player's losing time due to toe injuries :(

I knew that, but there is never enough time for Luke being on the court...

perhaps a 1-on-1 situp competition for NLSC-ers....the winner of each matchup moves to the next round....

Round two should be bench press competition... I just lifted 300 lbs  last night, after one week of rotting in bed... Man would I be the favorite in that...

JANUARY 2007 SUMMARY

Entering the month, the Bobcats were playing well and holding a 14-10 record. The month of January was up-and-down as the team finished the month with a 5-6 record, which leaves the team with a 19-16 record overall. The month could have been a lot worse as the team opened up the month by losing 5 of its first 7 games to drop to a 16-15 record, but a 3-1 finish salvage the month for the Bobcats and kept them in prime position in the Eastern Conference. Te team is currently 5th in the East. Injuries were the word of the month as the team had injuries to Bobby Simmons and more recently, Nene, that haven't helped the team's cause. Fortunately, the Bobcats are deep in the frontcourt and other players can step in and help the cause. Luke Walton is one such player who played really well in January after having a subpar start to the season. Jaric has also fitted in nicely as he helped the team in a huge win over the Spurs. Let's see if the team can continue to roll towards the playoffs. It should be interesting either way.
