awesome game by atkins and grant in game 2, specially the 17 rebs by grant. hope he still plays that way in real life, he sucks big time now maybe because he's getting old and maybe because of injuries. oh well, it's good to see he's ok in your dynasty at least.
tough lost in game 3, that sucks.... it's a close one. manu did it again

...... seraph

yes that was a tough loss... i think moving Odom to SF affected his rebounding. so i considering putting him back to PF. But Grant is doing well at PF positionjxuusa wrote:oh man thats gotta suck, i hate losing in the last seconds.

Game 4 Recap: San Antonio Spurs @ Los Angeles Lakers
Mismatch
Tim Duncan led his team in this game and
maybe lead his team to the Conference
finals as they now lead the series 3-1
LOS ANGELES (Ticker) –- Spurs showed why they are the favorite to win this year. After trailing most in the 1st half, Spurs used their defense to come back in the game. Then they showed their offensive skills and pull away for a blowout win.
Lakers played aggressive early in the game. They didn’t settle for jump shots and always tried to put it in the hole. As a result, Spurs committed 8 fouls which gave the Lakers 12 free-throws. They also forced Duncan, Ginobili and Parker into foul trouble. With that, Lakers held a 9 point lead in the 1st period. Bryant scored 17 points in this quarter. The Spurs bench tried to cut the deficits but a buzzer-beater by Atkins made it an 8 point lead, 32-24 at the end of the period.
Lakers continued they aggressive playing and extended their lead to 16 points. Spurs starters came back and trimmed the lead to 7 points but Lakers brought it back to 12 points. With 4 minutes left, Lakers lead 50-38, Barry and Parker led a Spurs 11-2 run to make it just 3 point game. Another buzzer-beater, this time by Odom put the Lakers lead to 5 points. The score was 58-53 at halftime. Bryant led the Lakers with his 21 points and Odom added 8 points. Barry again came from the bench and scored team-high 10 points while Duncan scored 8 points.
Spurs, then put a defensive clinic in the 3rd period. They limited the Lakers to 28 % shooting in this quarter after shooting 53% in the 1st half. Lakers only scored 16 points while allowing the Spurs 29 points. Spurs grabbed the lead exactly 4:59 left in this quarter, 64-62. From then, Spurs outscored Lakers 20-12 to hold an 8 point lead entering the 4th period. Lakers now trailed 82-74.
After showing great defense, Spurs showed more offense in the 4th quarter. They extended their lead 94-79 midway in the quarter. Lakers cut that to 8 points, 94-86 with 3 minutes left. But that was the closest they came. Spurs then extended their lead and ended the game with their biggest lead, 21 points. The game ended with the score of 115-94, the only blowout game in the series.
Bryant finished with 28 points but scored only 7 points in the 2nd half. Chris Mihm almost has a triple double with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Spurs player finished in double figure led by Ginobili’s 25 points. Parker and Duncan added 24 points each. Rasho Nesterovic was the only starter not in double figure, scoring only 8 points but grabbed 20 rebounds.
The Spurs now lead the series 3-1 as they head back home for Game 5. Lakers will need huge adjustment and lots of determination to come back from this 3-1 deficit.

Game 5 Recap: Los Angeles Lakers @ San Antonio Spurs
It's all About Defense
Tim Duncan made a crucial block on Brian
Grant to protect thier 1 point lead in dying
seconds of the game.
SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) –- Brent Barry showed why the Spurs signed him 10 months ago. With Ginobili hobbled with foul trouble, Barry stepped up big time to help the Spurs avenged their last year playoff exit and eliminated the Lakers.
The game was pretty close early in the game. But things changed when Ginobili was called for 2 quick foul. Lakers took advantage of that and raced to a 5 point lead, 15-10. They extended it to 9 points, 23-14 with 2:43 left in the quarter. Both Bryant and Odom scored 6 points while Duncan paced the Spurs also tallied 6 points. Spurs finished the 1st quarter without an assists and trailed by 6, 25-19.
Spurs cut the lead to only 1 point midway in this 2nd quarter. Then they tied the game at 36-36 with 2 ½ minutes left. But Bryant put the Lakers back on top, leading an 11-6 run to end the quarter. Bryant scored 11 of his 17 1st half points. Bowen had team-high 9 points while Duncan added 8 points and 6 rebounds. Ginobili scored 4 points and 3 foul in 10 minutes.
Once again, Spurs made a come back in the 3rd period behind their good defense. They cut the deficit to only 1 point. Fans gave a big applause when Parker blocked Bryant from behind and Ginobili stole the ball as Odom goes for a jumper. Spurs again tied the game at 57-all. And they successfully grabbed the lead at 62-61 with Duncan follow-up dunk.
At the end of the 3rd period, game was tied at 65-all.
Spurs opened the 4th quarter with a 3 point basket by Bowen. They extended their lead to 5 points but Lakers regained the lead at 71-70. An 8-0 run by Spurs led by Barry put them ahead by 7 points. But with the series on the line, Bryant single-handedly brought Lakers back in the game. Lakers even took a 2 point lead at 82-80, 5 minutes left in the game. Both traded baskets and features several deadlocks and lead changes. With less than 1 minute left, Bryant lay-up put the Lakers ahead, 91-90. Duncan then scored on the other end to put the Spurs back on top, 92-91 with 21 seconds left. In the next Lakers possessions, Duncan blocked Grant’s lay-up and Parker got the loose ball. Lakers fouled Parker but he splits his free-throws giving the Spurs just a 2 point lead. With 1.9 seconds left, Spurs made sure that they will not lose this game with a buzzer-beater like Fisher did last year. They put one great defense; they covered Bryant and forced Odom to give the ball to Atkins. Atkins then tried a desperation shot which only hit the rim and bounce out. Spurs win 93-91 and took the series 4-1.
Duncan finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blockshot, the last one was a crucial down the stretch. Brent Barry added 18 points to make up for Ginobili’s worst game in the series. Bruce Bowen led all Spurs with his 21 points. On the other hand, Bryant led Lakers 27 points and 10 assists. All Lakers’ starters finished in double figures.
With that lost, Lakers were eliminated and now looking forward for the off-season to improve their team. This game also marked the last game of Coach Rudy T who already announced that he will step down after the playoffs due to health reason. Lakers will now find a new coach for next year.
The Spurs will now face Sacramento Kings, who swept the Dallas Mavericks. Their series will begin on Saturday with Kings hosting Game 1 at Arco Arena.

also i dont have salary cap space to sign good players. plus i edit most players salary like AK, TP, J-Rich. Gasol and players that sign contract extension so they will not be a free-agent.jxuusa wrote:sucks that you lost, but now you can get to the offseason and start the nlsc players.
