X's Bobcats Dynasty '07/08 (NBA Live 2005)

A collection of memorable stories from NBA Live's franchise and career modes.

Well, it was interesting because:
Jaric is a much better point guard and simmons will give you good shotting and nice inside presence whereas wallace is just a dunker while korver is just a straight-up shooter, and i have no idea what whillie green does.

as for getting Kapono, as you said, it is good because he can shoot and you need that. You are stronger inside and have not lost much speed or shooting

BOBCATS BACK ON TRAIL FOR PLAYOFFS

Here goes the final recap for the month of December. I'm especially doing a 5 game recap to catch up. I'll try and get the December Summary (which should be considerably shorter than that boxscores won't need to be in them) tomorrow night, time permitting....

Dec 16, 2006 - Charlotte 104 vs Washington 111 (OT) [HUMAN GAME]

This was an epic game throughout with the Wizards always holding the upper-hand throughout the game. It wasn't until late in the last couple of minutes of the game that the Bobcats made one last charge which was capped off by a Nick Van Exel 3 pointer to send the game into OT after Larry Hughes' game-winning 3 clanged off the rim.

ImageImage
Silva "Melo" Biason hits his only basket of the game (above left). Nick Van Exel (above right) shows everyone why the Bobcats brought into town, to provide clutch play in the dying seconds

However once the game moved to OT, Washington stepped up in the clutch behind Antawn Jamison and Larry Hughes to squeak out the win. The . This loss drops the Bobcats to 11-9 overall. There was solid play from most players with the exception of very poor outings by Gerald Wallace and Andrew Watson, which really hurt the team's chances in this one.

BPMM Points: Okafor 3pts, Nene 2pts, Arenas 1pt

Dec 20, 2006 - Charlotte 109 vs Orlando 88 [INTERVENTION GAME]

The Bobcats' 1st game after the trade turned into a rout as the Bobcats were far too strong today for their division rival, Orlando Magic. The trial of starting Arenas at SG worked against the Magic's small backcourt as he went off for a big game. The win moves the Bobcats to a 12-9 record. Bobcats' newcomers Bobby Simmons and Marko Jaric both had solid debuts in their new colours.

BPMM Points: Arenas 3pts, Okafor 2pts, Simmons 1pt

Dec 23, 2006 - Charlotte 88 @ Washington 87 [SIMMED GAME]

This simmed game turned out to be another epic game against the Wizards. Charlotte had a great 1st half and led by 18 points at the break. This game sent a scare through me as the team only scored 27 points in the 2nd half, which was less than in each of the 1st and 2nd quarters. The Arenas' experiment continued to work well as he exploded for 31 points against his former team. Marko Jaric provided solid support off the bench as the team moved to 13-9 record.

BPMM Points: Arenas 3pts, Jaric 2pts, Van Exel 1pt

Dec 27, 2006 - Charlotte 114 @ Chicago 122 [HUMAN GAME]

The team broke out to an early lead in this one as it looked to be a blowout. However, as the game went along the Bulls got stronger and stronger, and the interior defense of Tyson Chandler was terrific. But it was a certain guy call Jordan, no sorry Gordon, that made the difference in this one as he took over in the 4th to steal this one away from the Bobcats. The loss drops Charlotte to 13-10. "That Guy" Dumars had a huge game, but it wasn't enough. Rookie Tiago Splitter also showed flashes of brilliance during the game and provided a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing game.

Image
Simmons was solid, but solid was not enough on this day

BPMM Points: Dumars 3pts, Okafor 2pts, Splitter 1pt

Dec 29, 2006 - Charlotte 98 @ Atlanta 91 [INTERVENTION GAME]

Intervening in the 4th quarter and down by 3 points, this game shaped up for a good finish. The Hawks came out strong and looked to have this game in the bag as they were up by 10 points with 5 minutes to go. However the Bobcats, led by Arenas, Jaric and Walton, scored 15 straight points to steal this one in Atlanta. The big win propels the Bobcats to 14-10 and 4th place in the Eastern Conference.

Image
In what was probably the biggest play of the game, Arenas absorbed the contact and made the basket with his left hand. It was the straw that broke the camel's back

BPMM Points: Jaric 3pts, Walton 2pts, Arenas 1pt

I know pics aren't proportioned that well, but had already done them and can't be bothered adjusting them, but future ones should be more consistent

I'll probably do December Summary tomorrow night.....

enjoy

yep, exactly....as you can probably see from the 5 game recap, Jaric is basically being used in a PG-type role even though he defends opposing team's SG's, which has allowed Arenas to play off-the-ball and light it up a bit more....and I'm happy with Simmons who I can also play as a SG if I need to put a big lineup on the floor with "That Guy", 'Meka, Nene/Splitter/Walton and Arenas/Jaric :D

Watson finally broke out of his shooting slump in final game of the month so he seems to have settled, which is good....

keep the comments coming people....

I really like how you sucked at first (like the real Bobcats), but a constant-losing dynasty isn't fun so it's good you're getting better now (I mean in the simulation games too).
If 14-10 gives you 4th place in the East then it must be the weaker of the 2 conferences again I guess?

You're doing a lot better than the actual Bobcats.

He's in season 3 - 2006-2007... how do you know that the actual Bobcats won't be 14-10 to start the 2006-2007?

This is the most realistic dynasty, in my opinion, and how he has been able to keep it realistic for 3 season is just awesome!

cheers guys....didn't know all that losing would have such a positive effect on everyone :?

I never meant to lose all those games back then but Jason Hart and Bernard Robinson just couldn't get the job done for me

and CK, the 14-10 record I believe is good enough for 4th just....although if I lose a game or two then I dropped to about 7th or 8th so it is quite an even Conference....but once again, the West is the Best....but you'll get to see that in the monthly summary I put up tonight....

also, I'd like to think that the Bobcats could look at my dynasty as an example on how to structure their rise over the next couple of seasons

I concur! The Bobcats should keep their cap space and sign both Yao and Amare Stoudamire on 2007!

both those guys resigned in '06....the '07 class is Lebron, Wade, Melo and Bosh

I've actually been basing my last 3 season's moves on having the cap space to snare one of these guys....I would love Wade to fall into my lap as a SG to play alongside Arenas....but I'm prepared for all of them to be re-signed....

DECEMBER 2006 SUMMARY

Entering the month, the Bobcats were on a 4 game winning streak and sitting at 7-6. To start the month of December, the team won it's next 3 to move to 10-6. However, the Pistons, Lakers and the Wizards all got wins over the Bobcats in the space of 4 games, which dropped the team to 11-9. Sensing that a change was required to get the team back on track, the Bobcats sent Gerald Wallace, Kyle Korver and Willie Green to the LA Clippers for Bobby Simmons and Marko Jaric. The move has appeared to pay huge dividends as the team won 3 of their last 4 games of the month to move to a 14-10 record overall, sitting in the middle of the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Haslem, well he hasn't had too many FT attempts so I'd say he'll drop as season progresses....

as for Arenas, yep, he's playing much better for me this season than last season....I guess I understand his game a bit better and he is my main offensive weapon and has been my most effective sim player as well....

yeah, we kicked your team's ass  but yeah, you didn't play as Cat Mobley seems to want to own every minute of every game :o

NLSC PLAYER UPDATE (DEC '06)

This is a monthly section that will highlight different NLSC Players each month. With many new NLSC players gracing the courts in the 2006/07 season we cross to Florida to check on the a pint-sized NLSC draft pick who has Magic supporters glowing with pride .

PG- Will Sit (Sit), 5'7", 133lbs (16th pick in the 2006 NBA Draft by Orlando Magic)

Image
"Hey Sit, I dunno if the Jedi Mind Trick works on a basketball"

Will Sit was a shock selection at 16 by the Orlando Magic. Many expected the young kid, who declared straight out of high school to fall to his favourite team the Los Angeles Lakers. But the Magic saw something special in his pint-sized baller. Despite playing behind Francis, Mobley and Nelson, Sit is still managing to put up nice numbers in limited minutes as he waits for his opportunity to shine. How long he'll have to wait is anyone's guess. Let's hope it's not too long, as you can't keep a talent like this sitting on the pine for too long as he could get unhappy and request a change in scenery. Sit has quickly become a fan favourite as he lights it up the minute he gets on the floor and as uses superior quickness and offensive ability to get shots off where they didn't seem possible. However, looking at his FT% (45.5%), he still has quite a few aspects of his game that he has to work on. Either way, Will Sit could be a name you'll hear more of in the future. As always, only time will tell.

Will Sit's 2006/07 Stats:
5.9ppg, 1.9apg, 49.5% FG, 33.3% 3pt, 45.5% FT
4.97 NBA Efficiency Rating
3.76 Raw Birdie Score
3.76 Weighted Birdie Score

• I’m still really surprised that coco is still stuck on the bench. I’d really expect his to get up there and dominate. Oh well. Maybe the guys in front of us will have “an unfortunate accident” and we’d all get promoted ;)

Dumars had a big game against the Bulls. I luv it

Nice trades for Simmons and Jaric. You are looking real good for the 06' season and hopefully you can keep the winning up going 6-3 in December. (Y)
