BOBCATS BACK ON TRAIL FOR PLAYOFFS
Here goes the final recap for the month of December. I'm especially doing a 5 game recap to catch up. I'll try and get the December Summary (which should be considerably shorter than that boxscores won't need to be in them) tomorrow night, time permitting....
Dec 16, 2006 - Charlotte 104 vs Washington 111 (OT) [HUMAN GAME]
This was an epic game throughout with the Wizards always holding the upper-hand throughout the game. It wasn't until late in the last couple of minutes of the game that the Bobcats made one last charge which was capped off by a Nick Van Exel 3 pointer to send the game into OT after Larry Hughes' game-winning 3 clanged off the rim.

Silva "Melo" Biason hits his only basket of the game (above left). Nick Van Exel (above right) shows everyone why the Bobcats brought into town, to provide clutch play in the dying seconds
However once the game moved to OT, Washington stepped up in the clutch behind Antawn Jamison and Larry Hughes to squeak out the win. The . This loss drops the Bobcats to 11-9 overall. There was solid play from most players with the exception of very poor outings by Gerald Wallace and Andrew Watson, which really hurt the team's chances in this one.
BPMM Points: Okafor 3pts, Nene 2pts, Arenas 1pt
Dec 20, 2006 - Charlotte 109 vs Orlando 88 [INTERVENTION GAME]
The Bobcats' 1st game after the trade turned into a rout as the Bobcats were far too strong today for their division rival, Orlando Magic. The trial of starting Arenas at SG worked against the Magic's small backcourt as he went off for a big game. The win moves the Bobcats to a 12-9 record. Bobcats' newcomers Bobby Simmons and Marko Jaric both had solid debuts in their new colours.
BPMM Points: Arenas 3pts, Okafor 2pts, Simmons 1pt
Dec 23, 2006 - Charlotte 88 @ Washington 87 [SIMMED GAME]
This simmed game turned out to be another epic game against the Wizards. Charlotte had a great 1st half and led by 18 points at the break. This game sent a scare through me as the team only scored 27 points in the 2nd half, which was less than in each of the 1st and 2nd quarters. The Arenas' experiment continued to work well as he exploded for 31 points against his former team. Marko Jaric provided solid support off the bench as the team moved to 13-9 record.
BPMM Points: Arenas 3pts, Jaric 2pts, Van Exel 1pt
Dec 27, 2006 - Charlotte 114 @ Chicago 122 [HUMAN GAME]
The team broke out to an early lead in this one as it looked to be a blowout. However, as the game went along the Bulls got stronger and stronger, and the interior defense of Tyson Chandler was terrific. But it was a certain guy call Jordan, no sorry Gordon, that made the difference in this one as he took over in the 4th to steal this one away from the Bobcats. The loss drops Charlotte to 13-10. "That Guy" Dumars had a huge game, but it wasn't enough. Rookie Tiago Splitter also showed flashes of brilliance during the game and provided a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing game.
Simmons was solid, but solid was not enough on this day
BPMM Points: Dumars 3pts, Okafor 2pts, Splitter 1pt
Dec 29, 2006 - Charlotte 98 @ Atlanta 91 [INTERVENTION GAME]
Intervening in the 4th quarter and down by 3 points, this game shaped up for a good finish. The Hawks came out strong and looked to have this game in the bag as they were up by 10 points with 5 minutes to go. However the Bobcats, led by Arenas, Jaric and Walton, scored 15 straight points to steal this one in Atlanta. The big win propels the Bobcats to 14-10 and 4th place in the Eastern Conference.
In what was probably the biggest play of the game, Arenas absorbed the contact and made the basket with his left hand. It was the straw that broke the camel's back
BPMM Points: Jaric 3pts, Walton 2pts, Arenas 1pt
I know pics aren't proportioned that well, but had already done them and can't be bothered adjusting them, but future ones should be more consistent
I'll probably do December Summary tomorrow night.....
enjoy
