micchy updated jerseys? i wanna see that

Mon Apr 18, 2005 9:48 am

I'll see what I can do about taking some pics and posting them later today....the Bucks ones aren't great, but different nonetheless....

Mon Apr 18, 2005 10:47 pm

As per jxuusa's request, here are the Bucks' new away jerseys, modelled by NLSC's own Micchy_boy. The pic only shows the away strip, but the home strip is basically the same design, except white with green writing and trim, so the opposite I guess.

As always, if someone has some sweet jerseys tucked away, or they want to make one for the team that they are on, please feel free

BOBCATS FINALISE ROSTER

BOBCATS RELEASE RENBERG

After acquiring him in the offseason and realising he just wouldn't cut it in the NBA, the Charlotte Bobcats released 2nd year forward Tarmo Renberg.

BOBCATS SIGN HASLEM

Needing additional help up front, the Charlotte Bobcats today announced the signing of PF Udonis Haslem to a 1 year, $2 million deal. His signing finalises the roster and will bring extra toughness and insurance in the frontcourt.

Looks you're fielding a pretty decent lineup this year. Good luck, look forward to more updates.

Tue Apr 19, 2005 12:49 am

nice , i hope you give Udonis Haslem a Chance (Y). Dont ask me why , but i like him is kinda Brian Grant I can't explain why but i like him

Tue Apr 19, 2005 12:54 am

Nice Roster, the Bobcats seem to be becoming a force to be reckoned. Only thing is you seem to be way deep up front and rather thing in the backcourt. Maybe you should trade a bench big man for a decent SG.( Watson is good, but he still needs a little work to get a full time job as a starter  )

Additionally, in my mind Arenas was always more of a SG than a PG, so I would start Nick at PG and Gilbert at the 2 spot...

Tue Apr 19, 2005 7:10 am

i think Watson's starting spot is deserved.
he can develop better as a starter, since he's only in ghis second year.
Willie Green will make a grat job from the bench ;)

Tue Apr 19, 2005 7:19 am

I'd start Korver at SG. He's really good at 3s.

Tue Apr 19, 2005 7:39 am

hm, i like the idea of making jerseys for our teams.
can i just take a template, make the graphics, send it to you, and you put it in the game or something?

definitely a lot stronger, let's see how it works....it can't be much worse than previous seasons....I hope....

Seraph wrote:nice , i hope you give Udonis Haslem a Chance . Dont ask me why , but i like him is kinda Brian Grant I can't explain why but i like him

yeah, I like Haslem too....he's getting minutes too....a really good guy to have off the bench....and I like Brian Grant too, always liked him from when he was a rookie in Sacramento....I know a lot of people don't like him but that's only because of the big money he received a number of years back, and playing for Blazers never helps your rep....sorry Cocobee, it ain't looking good for your rep

yeah, I'm considering trading Luke Walton in a package deal to upgrade the position....any suggestions of who to go after?!?

dweaver wrote:Additionally, in my mind Arenas was always more of a SG than a PG, so I would start Nick at PG and Gilbert at the 2 spot...

I could only see myself starting that lineup against small teams....I'll have to see how it goes....still experimenting with lineups....at the moment Nick is coming off the bench, but at times, when I need additional scoring, they play in the backcourt together....

pHLo wrote:i think Watson's starting spot is deserved.

He deserved the starting spot last year, but I don't know about this year....he's been up-and-down, but it's his spot until I upgrade it or lose it....if he plays well, he'll keep it....if not, he'll lose it, as simple as that

pHLo wrote:Willie Green will make a grat job from the bench

that's what I thought when I signed him a season back but he is far and away my biggest disappointment to date....it just has never been consistent enough to play big minutes off the bench....shows flashes of potential but the jury's out....he could be going with Walton or Korver for a better SG....

John WB wrote:I'd start Korver at SG. He's really good at 3s.

I did that for most of last season and it didn't work out. I find he's more useful in my offense off the bench. Watson is a better defender, passer and rebounder than Korver so his intangibles get the nod at this point. But Korver does play a key role.

sure, that's cool :D

yeah, he's pretty effective in Live, however the only problem is that I have never like Dermarr Johnson much :(

any other suggestions?!? :D and remember, they have to work cap-wise in a trade so they can't be too expensive....

and to everyone else, don't know if I said this before but I'll be posting the NLSC class of '06 boxscores for their 1st games some time after work....

Tue Apr 19, 2005 6:06 pm

U got a deep roster there X... u'll get in the playoffs this season!

Tue Apr 19, 2005 6:39 pm

I dunno....not with the poor start I seem to have had once again

Tue Apr 19, 2005 6:41 pm

Tue Apr 19, 2005 6:51 pm

I'm only 4 games in, 2 simmed games, 1 intervening game and 1 human game....simming is letting me down again....and some heartbreaking games....so I will look at turning it around later tonight

SPOTLIGHT ON THE NLSC-ers

All 10 of the NLSC rookies have made their season debuts, with very different results. It appears a couple are ready to step in and contribute straight away, whereas I've noticed a couple are inconsistent and the rest seem to be only playing in garbage time. Hopefully as the season progresses this will change, or maybe it's just the rookie learning curve. Anyways, click on the player below to check out the boxscore of his team in his NBA debut.

Mark "match_66" Moore
Cocobee
Silva "'Melo" Biason
Jing "jxuusa" Xu
Will Sit
Russel "Micchy_boy" Santos
Leo "Seraph" Reyes
Honor Glow
Paul Watson
Makis "Dweaver" Hassakis

As you can see Seraph really stepped up for Lakers as he put aside all his issues with the organisation. Micchy_boy, match_66 and dweaver were all very solid, meanwhile there weren't many minutes for the rest of the NLSC-ers despite my best efforts of moving them up rotations and slight tweaking of positions.

I'll have an NLSC update when I do my November recap. And since I'm a stats freak who like running through boxscores anyway, I figured I would start providing links to all my games' boxscores so whoever wants to check them can. They'll be added in with my monthly recaps, along with the Bobby Phills Memorial Medallion (BPMM) Points for each game. I'll also try and accomodate to 56k-ers (like myself) by posting a lot of the extras in link form so viewers have a choice....there will still be pics of course, I'll just not overload the thread with them

Any questions, queries, please ask....as always comments and feedback is always appreciated....

I'll leave you with this....

Normally Watson would have been on the bench in garbage time, but the prospect of teaching Xu, who came straight outta high school, was too much of an incentive for the growing ego that he is becoming

Tue Apr 19, 2005 8:27 pm

Hmmm, 6pts - 6rebs - 2blk - 1stl in 18 minutes... Not bad for an undrafted rookie's debut... Here's to my dethroning Amare and moving him back to PF...

Tue Apr 19, 2005 11:12 pm

haha, you might be waiting a while for that with how well The Matrix seems to play at PF....

I think you need a little less of this....
Image
Dweaver now realises that he shouldn't have had that souvlaki before the game

and a little more of this....
Image
Dweaver shows "That Guy" what he thinks of his nickname

you've been one of the more solid rookies to date....I guess that extra seasoning in Europe helped your game....plus the Suns are perennially weak upfront, so you were a good fit for them....

and for everyone else, don't be disheartened by any feeble numbers you put up, as it's only the 1st game and they're likely to go up....I've noticed certain players, like Sit for example, are finding their niche pretty early and Sit has helped the Magic to a 7-0 start....

Tue Apr 19, 2005 11:27 pm

its all good.
and i've changed numbers! nice i guess
and man, i'll teach you something.

-----------

just wondering... what jerseys do you have in there for the sonics? cause i don't wanna make one that is already in there.
and have you ever thought about tweaking the settings like micchy did to get the best performance out of his gfx card? doing what micchy did?
