17-36 shot attempts!? one of TMAC's ballhog nights

still great win vs your dynasty's pack leader

it's Scott Pollard's fault; my Rockets would've traded him for a sub 60 ovrall rookie lol

I agree with Celtica.
Just don't get complacent against the Sonics and you're good

Lamrock, Thanks, still these are all tight games mostly, so we'll see. And yeah Manu is known as a pretty good 3-point shooter..
Papa Jack, Thanks man
Celtica, yeah I'm happy with Josh Smith's production, I mean I'm not asking him to do much, with Lloyd and Manu, Monta and Kaman scoring all the points, I don't need him to score 20 points a game for me.
Clutch, haha, but McGrady was really like 17-34, he chucked up 2 shots as the game ended.. so he did shoot well..
Avivb9, thanks for checking in!

JANUARY HEADLINES '09
TEAM SUCCESS

- Slowly but surely LA's other team is climbing up the ranks. Having once started out 1-4, the Los Angeles Clippers have now won 9 in a row to close out the month of January. Led by established star Manu Ginobili and a better than expected rookie, Dylan Lloyd, LA has stormed past their competition, with Ginobili averaging 29.5 points and Lloyd averaging 26.7 points per game during the past month. Now possessing the 4th seed in the tough Western Conference, the team is closing in on the Pacific Division leading Phoenix Suns.
Not only has General Manager, Jim Fayer built this team to win now, but he also has made some moves that will pay dividends in the future. Having acquired a 1st round draft pick as part of the Marvin Williams-David Lee trade, the Clippers will now have 3 total draft picks this summer. This is in addition to the fact that 8 of the 10 rotation players are below 30 years old. With a team that is playing great now and presumably for many years in the future, Fayer is definitely up for Executive of the Year.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Despite losing star shooting guard Ben Gordon to free agency this summer, the Chicago Bulls haven't skipped a beat. Somehow, someway, after finishing 33-49 last season, the Bulls are 29-17 right now. With rookie coach Vinny Del Negro being forced to play Luol Deng out of position at the 2, Chicago has been beating their opponents by out rebounding them and owning the paint. Kirk Hinrich has been providing steady leadership and some much needed outside shooting to offset the absence of Gordon.
"You know, Coach has us playing more loose, and relaxed than Skiles did," Deng commented. "Last year we were always afraid to make mistakes, but now we can actually play our games." Deng is averaging 18.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. Hinrich has been even more amazing putting up 23.7 points, 7.6 assists and 3 rebounds per game. The former Jayhawk points not only to his new Coach as the reason for his career season, but also to his offseason training routine. Captain Kirk lost 10 pounds during the summer and has become noticeably quicker on the court. Preseason predictions aside, its time to start taking the Bulls seriously.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Finishing 44-38 for 2 consecutive years and bowing out in the first round, Dwayne Wade has taken his game back to his 2006 playoff level. Wade is averaging 28.2 points, 7.2 assists and 3.6 rebounds. Wade is slashing to the basket at will and is showing no ill effects of his injured knee. "I've just been working out, trying to stay healthy and making my teammates better," Wade has said. Miami is currently in the midst of a 8 game winning streak to shoot up the Eastern Conference standings, the Heat are tied for 2nd with the Indiana Pacers.
Although most of the win streak has come against teams with losing records such as Golden State, Philadelphia, Portland, Toronto, and Seattle, the Heat also defeated top teams such as the Spurs, Pistons and Celtics. Most impressively was their 27 point win against San Antonio in San Antonio on January 25th. With a healthy Wade and Shaquille O'Neal the Heat certainly are looking to add title #2 to their collection.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CLIPPERS-KNICKS TRADE

- Just 4 weeks before the trade deadline, the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Clippers have made a trade, with LA sending Marvin Williams to New York in exchange for a 1st round pick and David Lee. The trade has allowed Coach Mike D'Antoni to finally play Zach Randolph who has responded by averaging 22.8 points and 6.2 rebound in his first 3 games. Williams is averaging 11 points and 7 rebounds in his first 3 games as a Knick. Lee meanwhile has taken on the role of providing solid rebouding off the bench for LA. All in all a very productive trade for both teams.
LEAGUE LEADERS--------------------------------------------
- Gilbert Arenas - 30.3 ppg
- Allen Iverson - 29.5 ppg
- Kobe Bryant - 29.5 ppg
-------------------------------------------
- Amaré Stoudamire - 10.5 rpg

SEASON STANDINGSPLAYER AWARDS
EDIT: Thanks Lamrock for catching the Dallas detail, I was using my Warrior format for league leaders, and Dirk was #1 there so I forgot about it. Fixed it now though. Thanks!

Love the around the league update. Love the team write-ups. Only flaw is that you have Arenas marked as a Maverick, not a Wizard, but that is just nitpicking. Nice job.

Captain Kirk lost 10 points during the summer
Don't you mean 10 pounds?
Great overview. The Bulls are doing fine, which is great. Keep the streak up! Lloyd looks like a lock for ROTY..

I love it when people say Ginobili flops.... they are just so jealous they want him on their team! Don't deny it, we all know how you really feel... Ginobili is going bald.... your point being? Michael Jordan didn't have any hair at all... but he was still good, right?
ANYWAY back to dynasty talk, good job on the around the league things it looks awesome. I saw the standings and have noticed that San Antonio ain't doing as good without Ginobili...
Keep it up!

I love it when people try to sound smart by starting their snarky rebuttal posts saying "I love it". Why is it that all of your posts are celebrating the Spurs, and denying the obvious fact that Manu Ginobili flops and is a scar on the NBA when your username is
Celtica?
Sorry about that, Chaser.
Sat Jul 19, 2008 3:16 pm
i missed this but who picked up Ben Gordon from CHI? the Lee/Williams trade seems to favor NY in the short-term at least, seeing that you didn't bother to post Lee's stats for comparison

solid headline breakdowns nonetheless
Sat Jul 19, 2008 3:49 pm
Lol you just payed out yourself! Anyway, whether or not Ginobili flops I don't care, cause I reckon he is a sick player. Scar on the NBA? Lol. Just LOL.
As I've said, my username has nothing to do with the team I follow, its a name I've had for a long time. We're here to talk about Chaser's dynasty so do it or leave.
Sorry about taking up space in your Dynasty, Chaser.
Sat Jul 19, 2008 5:28 pm
Sigh. Alright I'll bite, as you're referencing the fact you were obviously ignored the first time. First off, "payed out" myself? wth does that even mean anyway?
Jealous of Flopobili? now THAT is just LOL! There's at least a half-dozen other 2-guards I'd, "want on my team" whatever you mean by that. Last I checked I aint Mark Cuban and can't afford an NBA team
Never said Flopobili wasn't good; just inquired if Live 09's dynamic DNA feature will be updating his head/hair texture daily
I 1000% agree w/Lamrock. Flopobili's an infected pus to the game with all his flopping; acting like a fish out of water aint basketball
And wow, "We're here to talk about Chaser's dynasty so do it or leave." For a noob with sub 20 posts to say that to a forum vet with 2000+ posts is pretty bold; I get it...
Chaser, nobody's buying these fictious accounts created just to bump your thread so knock it off already lol
Sat Jul 19, 2008 6:05 pm
Clutch- your kidding right? I definitely am not Celtica (no offense, I'm just clarifying this, not trying to insult you) and I'm not creating accounts to bump my thread, but I'm pretty sure you're joking though

. And btdubs Ben Gordon hasn't signed with anyone. Live is stupid and no one will pick him up all season since he is asking for too much money. I also got a first round pick out of the Lee trade too so its all good.

Is Ben Gordon your only major hold-out? I have Ellis, Billups, Gordon and Jamison among other unsigned, and had Calderon an FA too before I intervened that situation.
Sat Jul 19, 2008 6:12 pm
Well Ellis also would have been a holdout for me, if I hadn't signed him.

but I'm sure there are others, if I check the list tomorrow. I don't even think Calderon is in the game for me. Wait how did you intervene with that situation? Did you sign and then trade him? I really hope '09 doesn't have this holdout feature haha.
Sat Jul 19, 2008 6:14 pm
Ok, I realise that people have different opinions on different subjects and I understand I should respect a forum vet. Sorry I just don't like people paying out Ginobili, is all...
Can we settle our differences and get back doing what we all love, NBA Live?
p.s lol @ me being Chaser
Sat Jul 19, 2008 7:29 pm
Man I can swear i posted here amd it got deleted or somthing.
anyway, it's a shame the lakers suck at your dynasy while the Pacers, Grizzlies etc. are doing great.
keep it up
Sat Jul 19, 2008 11:11 pm
Wow, looks like I missed a lot yesterday. Lol at the Floppu debate. I'm surprised it lasted long. Since we all know Manu flops. Point blank.
Anyway, nice recap. Good luck in February!
Sun Jul 20, 2008 10:20 am
Great dynasty! Your recaps are really good and you made some really nice trades for the Clippers. Nice going! I'll be following this dynasty now.
Mon Jul 21, 2008 4:19 am
What is your rookie D. Lloyd rated?
Mon Jul 21, 2008 4:25 am
surely i jest
and that's F'n NUTS - Gordon was never signed by any team?!? that's lame; you know if he's still avail as a FA next season or do they all get swapped for the latest batch? if he is, he's definitely one to look out for and make a move on
glad with the Lee/Williams trade (too much dynasty crossover with that kid); they both look good in their new uni's; looks like NYKs benefiting a bit more at least in the short-term as i noticed you didn't bother with Lee's stats for comparision; but you'll reap more long-term w/the draft pick
Mon Jul 21, 2008 5:31 am
Wow... another Ginobili dick sucker.
Hey Emiliano! you got a buddy!
Mon Jul 21, 2008 5:38 am
Oh yeah and Chaser in the league leaders I think you put Yao Ming wrong in the area of rpg. You put Yao Ming: 10.0 ppg.. Isn't it rpg? Just wanted to let you know.
Mon Jul 21, 2008 3:50 pm
hey jing, who's your 'cocksucker' comment directed at? just wanna make sure before i rip some venom unintentionally
