Thanks for the word out a few days back.

I havent fully caught up on everything on this page (grrr ive moved out of home so only 56k now) but the All Star recap was off the hook, ive always said that you are the best recap writer here but you upped your game massively for the all star weekend, one particular paragraph that I thought was really effective was:

That's it from All-Star Weekend here in Denver. So, class, what did we learn?

On Friday, we noted that the league is in good hands. On Saturday, we found out that the point guard associated with Phoenix is really, really good and Ginobili can do just about anything. Last, but not least, on Sunday, we got a full picture of one of the best forwards to ever play the game. Now, it's on to the second half of the season. Nothing's settled yet. Not with Phoenix a mere game ahead of the Spurs for the best record in the league, and not with the Grizzlies and Rockets playing as well as any teams have had all year long. Sure, Miami's on a roll with a 6-game winning streak, but nothing's settled there either. Not with the Celtics and Pacers picking up steam in the East. So, it should be a great second half. And with scoring up across the league, it should be exciting as well.

   Pure Brilliance :!: :!: :!:

Ill finish catching up on the rest of the dynasty soon

Peace dude

thanks man, nice to see you back on the forum for the time being. i was surprised someone finally realized that part i added in for all-star weekend to make it a little different. thanks for taking the time out to read the things you could get to. hope to see you some more.

yea, nash stepped his game up along with marion. jackson is playing pretty well right now, but i just have to get use to his game compared to johnson's because jackson isn't a good penetrator. thanks for the compliment, and you can expect some real nice things for playoffs.

ROCKETS VS. SUNS
America West Arena, Phoenix, 7:00 p.m., PST

TV, radio: FSAZ; KTAR 620
Records: Rockets, 37-23; Suns, 47-14.
INJURY REPORT Phoenix- Joe Johnson (broken bone in wrist) out indefinitely; Houston- Moochie Norris (broke nose) doubtful

KEY MATCHUP: SHAWN MARION VS. JUWAN HOWARD
Juwan Howard is one key part to the success of the Rockets this season. His veteran leadership has helped the Rockets to a 37-23 record averaging 16.1ppg and 8.4rpg and is 3rd on the team in scoring behind Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady. Marion must use his young legs against Howard to try and have a great game for the Suns.

INSIDE THE ROCKETS
Houston is 7-3 in their last 10 games and haven't been on a losing streak since February 2nd. This just the 2nd out of 4 meetings for the two teams as the Rockets loss to the Suns 100-91 in Houston on January 1st.

INSIDE THE SUNS
Jim Jackson will be playing against the team that got rid of him earlier this season. You may see some vegeance in him tonight as the Suns go for five straight wins, owning a 2-game advantage over the San Antonio Spurs for the best record in the league.

Yao's height gave Stoudemire some trouble throughout the game

PHOENIX, March 11 (Ticker) -- A pair of All-Stars helped the Houston Rockets hand the Phoenix Suns probably one of their worst losses this season at home. Tracy McGrady scored 19 points and Yao Ming added 24 and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Rockets halted the Suns' four-game winning streak with a 106-93 rout. Phoenix's largest loss at America West Arena this season had been a seven-point setback to Memphis on January 19. It suffered a 23-point defeat at San Antonio on December 28. "This is a game we felt we should have won," said Suns forward Quentin Richardson, who had 20 points and five rebounds. "We don't feel they are as good as we are, but they played like the better team tonight. You know the hungrier team is the team that plays the hardest."

"We didn't play a smart game," Phoenix coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We kept forcing the issue instead of playing basketball." With the game at, 50-43, at the break, Phoenix opened the third quarter with a 21-7 run to take an 64-57 lead with 3:09 to go. Houston fought back to move ahead, 74-73, at the end of the quarter. But the big push came midway through the final quarter as the Rockets scored 14 consecutive points, including five by McGrady, who was 7-of-17 from the field, but knocked down the shots when he had to. "Tracy McGrady did a good job of putting the dagger in when we were struggling," D'Antoni said. "He just didn't miss anything despite struggling early in the game. He is just that type of player."

The Rockets outscored the Suns in the final period, 32-20, shooting 57 percent (13-of-23). Phoenix was just 7-of-23 in the quarter. "For us to hold them to 20 points in the fourth quarter shows how good a defensive team we can be," McGrady said. "We did it with great intensity and had great poise when they made their run in the 3rd. I have to credit my big fella (Yao). He played Stoudemire really well and helped us down the stretch." McGrady collected nine rebounds and Bob Sura scored 19 points for surging Houston, which has won three straight and four for their last five. "We all did a much better job in the fourth quarter," Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy said. "They have advantages with quickness in (Amare) Stoudemire and we have advantages in size and strength. I thought Yao's size and strength were the telling difference."

James added 10 points for the Rockets who are in 6th place in the Western Conference only two games behind the Dallas Mavericks. "This is a game that looks like we are growing up and moving in the right direction," he said. "We are not really concerning ourselves with (playoff) positioning right now. We are concerning ourselves with our own personal style of play because we believe we have a chance of going very far this year." Stoudemire had 30 points and 10 boards and Leandrosa Barbosa scored 13 points and shot a season-high 6-6 from the field for Phoenix, which had won the previous four meetings with Houston.

Some more nice recaps, I'm noticing your writing skills more and more. Tough loss to the Rockets, they're really tough. Btw, in the San Antonio game, did Ginobili do well against you guys? Whenever I play San Antonio, they're the great team that they are in real life. But when I play with them, it's hard to score enough to keep up with the other team, because they don't make too many jump shots. The defensive advantage they have in real life isn't as easily displayed in video games. Anyway, was Manu driving on you, or hitting more jump shots, or what?

thanks, the rockets are hard to beat especially with wesley on their team. he can light it up even with a bigger person him. as for ginobili, he scored 32pts against me and its on the boxscore too  ginobili really took alot of midrange jumpers, but from outside, he didnt shoot well and he drove me a couple of times with a few dunks. they aren't really the same as they are in real life like you said, because their defense really isn't that good.

Props once agian!

Thanks Sit, my bad about the loading  I try to set it up better, but I don't think it helped that much. I will still look for other ways to make it easier for 56k users though.

SUNS VS. NUGGETS
Pepsi Center, Denver, 7:00 p.m., PST

TV, radio: FSAZ; KTAR 620
Records: Suns, 47-15; Nuggets, 33-28.
INJURY REPORT Phoenix- Joe Johnson (broken bone in wrist) out indefinitely; Denver- Marcus Camby (broken bone in foot) out indefinitely

KEY MATCHUP: AMARE STOUDEMIRE VS. NENE
Since Marcus Camby is injured, Nene will fill in at the center position which will make Stoudemire's night alot easier as Nene stands just one inch above Stoudemire. Nene does have a size advantage as he weighs more pounds than Amare, but Amare has the qucikness advantage. Nene has only started 7 games this season and he scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 41 minutes lastn ight against the Spurs.

INSIDE THE SUNS
Phoenix is coming off a double digit loss at home to the Houston Rockets and was their first loss without swingman Joe Johnson in the lineup. Steve Nash is still ahead of the pack in assists, averaging 8.9 a contest and is 1.4 assists ahead of 2nd place Jason Kidd. Shawn Marion has really played well since Johnson's injury along with Quentin Richardson. Marion is averaging 21ppg, 9.6rpg and 4apg in the last three games, while Richardson is avearging 18.6ppg and 6.6rpg.

INSIDE THE NUGGETS
Denver is coming off a tough one-point loss to the San Atnonio Spurs lats night. Carmelo Anthony scored 18 points, while grabbing 14 rebounds and dishing out 5 dimes in the contest. Voshon Lenard led the team with 23 points.

DENVER, March 13 (Ticker) -- With Steve Nash running the show, it does not take long for the Phoenix Suns to recover. Two days after suffering a tough loss to the Rockets, the Suns rode 27 points and 9 assists from Nash to a 112-104 victory over the Denver Nuggets, who are now 16-6 in their last 22 games. On Friday, Phoenix blew a small lead that gave them a home loss to Houston. Nash scored 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting in the loss but stepped his game up more against the surging Nuggets. "A win is a win is a win," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. "It wasn't pretty, but it's always good to get a win on the road. In the first half we didn't play well defensively. We picked it up in the second half and we got a win against a team that has been playing good."

After Denver opened the fourth quarter on a 13-3 run to take a 95-88 lead, the NBA's leader in assists carried the scoring load down the stretch. Nash stopped the surge with five free throws and a layup to tie it midway through the period. Voshon Lenard buried a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 100-98 with under four minutes left before Nash helped the Suns pull away. He hit two jumpers, a free throw and assisted on Quentin Richardson's 3-pointer for a 106-100 lead with 70 seconds to go. "I thought we did a really good job of being competitive tonight," Nash said. "We're talented, we're super competitive and we can dig games out like that."

"After we took the lead in the fourth, Phoenix showed their toughness," Nuggets coach George Karl said. "They really did a good job of coming back on us." Nash made 10-of-22 shots and handed out 9 assists, and was almost the 3rd Suns’ play to have double-doubles. Amare Stoudemire had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Shawn Marion added 14 and 11. "It shouldn't have been as close as it was," Marion said. "We let them back in the game just like the other night. It seems like we have more initiative on the road than we do at home. We did hit some big shots when we needed them though." Kenyon Martin scored 24 points and Carmelo Anthony added 25 and 14 for Denver, which received little effort from small backup point guard Earl Boykins. Boykins was pulled midway through the third period after turning the ball over twice and missing two baskets and did not return in the 4th quarter. He finished 3-of-7 with six points.

"I think it's pretty obvious that it wasn't our greatest defensive effort," said Karl, who fell to 15-5 since taking over late in January. "The Suns are a different type of team to play. We did a lot of good stuff but I am just disappointed that we didn't get the momentum going and sustain it." Without center and leading rebounder Marcus Camby, who was out with a broken foot, Denver outrebounded Phoenix, 41-40. Leandrinho Barbosa was injured late in the 2nd quarter after going up for a layup again Andre Miller. He came down and was in severe pain holding his leg and had to be helped off the court by two teammates. After the game, the Suns trainer Aaron Nelson said that Barbosa injured his big toe on his left foot and doesn’t know how long he will be out until he has an MRI tomorrow morning. “We are getting plagued with injuries now this late in the season,” Coach D’Antoni said. “We hope we can get him back soon.”

Barbosa Will Miss Two Weeks

By Josh Greene | March 14, 2005

Image
Barbosa averaged 12.1mpg off the bench for Phoenix

Doctors told team officials that Leandrosa Barbosa will definitely miss 2-3 weeks from his injury that occured last night against the Denver Nuggets. After viewing the MRI results, they were positive and even though he won't need surgery, he will have to walk with a cast on his foot for about a week and a half and the rest of the days will be for practicing.

"I'm very unfortunate for this injurt because we are already short-handed, but I'm fortunate that I won't be out for the season or won't need surgery," Barbosa said today. All-Star point guard Steve Nash will most likely be handling the ball for around 40+ minutes a game now with the injury to Barbosa and there isn't no decision yet on who will run some of the point guard duties when Nash is off the court. "With Johnson injured as well, he would usually run the PG role when we had injuries, but now we have to look for other players to step up and take on the role," Coach D' Antoni said. A possible canidate will be Jim Jackson who sometimes ran the point in Houston.

Barbosa will stay in Phoenix when the team travel on their 5-game road trip next week after they play the Warriors from resting four days. "He needs to rest some and get his toe back to where it won't bother him when he walks," Coach D'Antoni said. Barbosa averaged 4.2ppg, 1.8apg for the Suns in 60 games.
