Looking forward for the next recap (Y)

pub felt great after the shite day I had at work on Friday....as for recap, is coming asap....

keepnitgangsta1 wrote:man x are you gonna be updatin anytime soon

I am going to try & get April recap up tonight, but no promises....might cut out game of the month recap so I can get it up....if it's not up tonight, it might have to wait until Wednesday, as Valentines Day is obviously booked up by the gf....

J.J.F. wrote:Hmmmm.... the tanks are out... bring on the draft!!!

you wouldn't be suggesting that I am tanking the season would you? I would never do that, and besides, it's not a Greg Oden draft so what's the point....heck, with the dearth of big men, a Greek with flailing elbows is considered a mid-1st Round prospect

Malfa wrote:hmm x..me and you are the only blazer dynastys and we both are slackin big

slacking like the real Blazers, eh? nah, I don't see myself as slacking, when I'm not at work or with my gf or watching lost or prison break or watching or playing bball, I'm likely on the computer on the internet, playing Live or updating my dynasty....last week has been adding real prospects into draft....

Sit wrote:who are the elite nlsc players in this years draft again? are there many of us?

there are a handful....you probably won't be happy as you're slotted in as a late 1st Rounder but I'll give you some extra potential to make up for it

2005 draft is highlighted by the likes of Andrew, Jing, Makis, Mark, Paul, Travis & Will....they will battle the likes of LaMarcus, Gay, Mo' School & JJ....but who can forget the likes of Washington's Emmet Smith, the nephew of the great Cowboys' RB Emmett Smith

don't think so, you never applied to be in dynasty

Mon Feb 13, 2006 2:59 pm

well u should draft me onto the blazers

Mon Feb 13, 2006 3:01 pm

Am i 2007 or 2008 draft? I forgot, hopefully the mighty Robert "Jugs" Skrnjug, the 6'9 power forward who has shown flashes of nothingness will do well

I know i've given you my cyberface but have i given you my ratings "basis" (like crap shooter, highflying white guy)?

Mon Feb 13, 2006 3:14 pm

omg another birdman?? :o :o

Mon Feb 13, 2006 4:08 pm

Late first round would be good if Jax got me!

Mon Feb 13, 2006 4:37 pm

kick someone out

us blazer fans have to stick together

Mon Feb 13, 2006 5:07 pm

malfa, it takes like X about 1 month or 2 to get through a 29 game season, so you need to chill out, if you dont get in this one just chill and wait for the next one. guys who were in X's last one get in on this one, so dont worry, you will get your turn

sorry, can't do that....if you want in, get a cyberface done up, email it & a quick profile to me at just_x@ihug.com.au & I will get you in as soon as possible....

not fair to kick out guys who have been waiting ages....sorry....

you're in '07 draft....I had your cyberface, will take note of you skills (or lackthereof  )

good to see a non-guard NLSC-er, should definitely help your standing

Malfa wrote:omg another birdman?? :o :o

don't say that, Weaver might remember the Sheed incident from my last dynasty :shhh:

Sit wrote:Late first round would be good if Jax got me!

only way Jax would get you is if you slid bigtime into the 2nd Round....Lakers are a mid-lottery team, they suck

don't worry, you're ranked at least higher than me

exactly....although with study to start late March, we'll see how we go :(

might cut back to trimester updates rather than monthly or something at that stage....

I know you can work something out! Jax likes big PG's... btw, am I actually 5'7" or 6'6" in ur dynasty?

same as last year, 5'7"....although I got you at 5'8" this year....I must have gifted you an inch this time....it's to account for the shoes you wear

BLAZERS MONTHLY RECAP - APRIL 2006

With the playoff equation wiped out in the first week of April, the Blazers looked to finish the season strong & develop some of its younger talent. Two big wins over the Suns & Bucks to start the month looked positive, but it was backed up with a tough loss against the Clippers. In the last 2 games, it seemed like the Blazers had turned to developing its youngster over actually winning the game. A strategy that you might or might not agree with, but it ended with a 30pt thumping by the Grizzlies and a 2-4 record to close the year with a 9-20 record, which was well out of the playoff race.

The season could not be seen as a total disaster for the Blazers as a few good things came out of it. Firstly, Zach Randolph finally turned into the post player (21.2ppg, 10.4rpg) that many thought he could. Secondly, the continued development of young PG Sebastian Telfair (14.2ppg, 6.7apg) was a glorious sight to see. The arrival of Morris Peterson via trade from Toronto in February was just the spark the team needed. The benefits of that one trade could make a difference to the team's fortuens in the next season or two. And finally, the young rookies & sophomores, with which this team seems to be based, slowly started to show their immense potential. It was a learning year, however team management won't be so forgiving in 2006/07, as better results will be demanded. Another important off-season awaits.

KEY INJURIES

Image
Whilst he will likely be healthy by the time the playoffs roll by, this has to be a real worry for the Northwest Division leading Nuggets

Image
The Bucks squeeked in the playoffs. Are they really a chance to get out of the 1st Round with TJ Ford injured again?!?

LINE OF THE MONTH

Each month I'll post a statistical line that really jumped out at me during the month. It might be an outstanding performance or a very poor performance by a player. Hope you enjoy.

Apr 26, 2006 - Portland 89 vs Seattle 115

Image

With Theo Ratliff's future always uncertain, the Blazers figured to need some new blood in the pivot. Who would have thought that it would be right under their noses. Ha exploded for his 1st career double-double, as he posted career highs in points (13) & rebounds (13).

On this night, Ha outplayed his young counterpath Robert Swift, and showed that the Blazers might have themselves a pretty decent bigman. Ha was a beast on the boards and showed some pretty useful skills for a guy of his size. I guess all the Asian bigs can step out a little these days. Whilst it was only one big night, this is one Korean you should definitely be keeping an eye on.

ImageImage
Ha showed promise on both ends of the court, as well as some touch from outside the key

Image
Ha even has a bit of fire, as shown above after the 'and 1' play. Looks like he's calling me out

PLAYER CARD OF THE MONTH (APR '06)

Image
Martell Webster got some burn in April, & due to the fact the kid is the face of the future of the franchise, why not show him off?!?

PLAY OF THE MONTH (APR '06)

Image
Telfair called for the pick 'n' roll play. Little did he know it would turn into a highlight reel alleyoop. Enjoy

And here's one for the Aussies....

Image
If he's Kryptonite, he sure didn't show it against the Aussie Superman, Bogut, who swatted that shit right out of there

That's it for April guys. I will post League Leaders in next couple of days, and then playoff schedule and prepare for scouting updates.

Cheers
X
