February 22, 2005

Detroit 104 – New York 114 (Record:29-25)
In Lamar Odom’s debut in his new Knicks uniform, he scored 22 points and grabbed 6 rebound for an all round fine inaugural performance. Tim Thomas, Jamal Crawford and Jamal Magloire all had 20 or more points as well, leaving little room to the Pistons’ defense to focus on one or two players and shut them down. Billups 25 pts – 9ast did not manage to spur the rest of his team in order to mount a comeback in the 4th.

February 24, 2005

New York 111 – Philadelphia 124 (Record:29-26)
Lamar Odom’s 25 points and 9 assists were not enough to stop the Sixers’ march, who are now on a 29 – 9 run since their horrid 4 – 12 start to the season in November and early December. Chris Webber had 19pts – 9rebs – 7ast, while rookie Andre Iguodala’s contribution off the bench with 22 points was enough to make the difference in the end.

February 26, 2005

New York 115 – Indiana 94 (Record:30-26)
Allan Houston led the Knicks in scoring putting up 26 by the end of the 4th quarter, but it was Lamar Odom’s 3rd consecutive fine game after his arrival at New York, with 22 pts, 11 rebs and 9 ast that was the talk of the Garden. Should Odom continue like this, the NY fans will have forgotten the name ‘Marbury’ by the end of the week. On the Pacers’ camp, Jermaine O’Neal managed to score 29 points but he was too alone offensively to make a difference for his side.

February 28, 2005

New York 122 – LA Lakers 110 (Record:31-26)
The scoring trio of Houston, Crawford and Odom performed offensive wonders once more with 30, 28 , and 25 points respectively, combining for 83 of the Knicks’ 122 points. The game was decided during the 4th quarter, during which the Lakers surrendered their lead to a barrage of 3 pointers and fast break points by New York. Los Angeles’ leading scorer in this contest was none other than former Knick malik Rose who had a season high of 25 points.

Lamar odom playing well for the knicks?

nah, I just traded for him. Most of his numbers you see in th eabove picture derive from his Laker days. But having played a bit further into this dynasty, I can tell that he keeps averaging 20-10-5 even with many games simmed. (Y)

March 2, 2005

It was announced today by the Golden State Warriors that swingman Jason Richardson will be unavailable for action for the next 3 weeks. Jason tore his Achilles tendon playing back yard basketball with his 4 year old daughter Layla. Layla had just performed a casual 360 between the legs when their dog Chumpy just went ballistic and decided to take a chunk out of Richardson’s heel. The Warriors are currently 5.5 games behind the Lakers for the 8th playoff spot in the West, and J-Rich’s absence cannot but make things more easy for the Oaklanders.

March 4, 2005

Orlando 75 – New York 101 (Record:33-26)
Lamar Odom had another great game with 28 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks for a topping. Houston followed with 18, while Jamal Crawford was handling the point like a seasoned veteran, committing 0 turnovers in 39 minutes of game action. The Magic surrendered this game early, as none of Hill, Howard or Francis was up to their usual level of play throughout the contest.

March 6, 2005

New York 90 – Golden State 103 (Record:33-27)
Tim Thomas scored 31 for a season high, Jason Richardson was out with injury and Golden State was forced to shake the rust of Calbert Cheaney making him a starter for the first time this year, but the warriors managed to steal a win in New York, led by Troy Murphy’s sensational 29pts – 17 reb game. Baron Davis added another 28pts – 9 ast thus making things easier for his team down the stretch.

March 8, 2005

New York 97 – Washington 92 (Record:34-27)
All of the Knicks’ starters scored above 15 point seach , together combining for 81 of the team’s 97 points. Wshington had only Arenas and Hughes to lean on, as they both scored 25 points, but that was not enough. New York’s excellent defense down the stretch made the difference and clinched them another home victory.

March 13, 2005

New York 86 – Seattle 109 (Record:34-28)
The Sonics’ bench was a main factor in this contest combining for 46 points total, while on the other hand only 3 players were used as substitutes by the Knicks, altogether contributing 8 points. With only the starters trying, New York never stood a chance despite homecourt advantage. Antonio Daniels was Seattle leading scorer with 20.

March 15, 2005

New York 93 – Miami 116 (Record:34-29)
The Heat were 39-26 coming in New York for this match, sitting atop their division and in 2nd overall place in the East. They proved they were worth that position when they completely dominated this game from th every beginning. Shaq had 20 points coasting through, while Damon Jones hit 6 treys to open up the defense. New York’s Tim Thomas had 25 pts – 8rebs but was not receiving enough help from his teammates to even the odds.

March 18 , 2005

Atlanta 73 – New York 117 (Record:35-29)
The Hawks were 17-47 already and sitting comfortably at the bottom of the entire league. Motivation was non-existent for the home team, so the Knicks took advantage and totally demolished their opposition, aided by their pluralism on offense, with all 5 starters scoring 16 or more. Atlanta’s top scorer in this nightmare was Al Harrington with only 17.

March 19, 2005

Miami 100 – New York 117 (Record:36-29)
The Knicks gave the Heat a taste of their own medicine, since Miami only recently escaped the MSG with a blowout win… Lamar Odom destroyed his former team with 43 points and 10 rebounds. Miami’s Shaquille O’Neal and Eddie Jones both had 31 points, but even with that rare stat on their favor the home team couldn’t edge out a win against a determined New York side.

Image

March 21, 2005

New York 114 – San Antonio 106 (Record:36-29)
When you manage to hold Tim Duncan’s offensive output to just 7 points, then it’s safe to say you’re the lock-on favorite to beat the Spurs. That is exactly what the Knicks did, led by their frontcourt of Odom ( 22pts- 10rebs – 7ast – 3stl) and Magloire ( 26pts – 13 rebs). San Antonio leaned on Tony Parker’s leadership with 22 points and 11 assists, but with Duncan having a season low there’s wasn’t much hope.

Image

March 23, 2005

New York 87 – Boston 97 (Record:36-30)
Ricky davis scored 31 points and Antoine walker had 24 himself to lead the Celtics to victory in front of a sellout crowd at Madison Square Garden. Lamar Odom approached triple double figures once again but his all-around performance was not seconded adequately by his teammates resulting in a disappointing home loss to Boston, the 30th loss of the season.

March 25, 2005

Seattle 88 – New York 94 (Record:37-30)
Jamal Crawford hit 6 3pointers and organized the team brilliantly from the point position leading the Knicks to a road victory over the disappointing Sonics in the Key Arena. Odom added 11 rebounds to the mix while Ray Allen’s 25pts – 7rebs – 5ast were not enough to bring Seattle to the promise land.

March 26, 2005

Portland 106 – New York 98 (Record:37-31)
Tim Thomas’ 21 points and 9 rebounds were not enough to annihilate Derek Anderson who led Portland’s late 4th quarter winning charge with 28 points and 10 assists overall. The Blazers’ zonal defense in the 4th strangled New York’s offensive production and allowed the home team to mount a comeback during the final 5 minutes of the game, giving them the win.

March 28, 2005

Golden State 84 – New York 96 (Record:38-31)
Crawfords’ 26-4-9 along with Odom’s 22-13-4 were enough to stave off Baron Davis’ 21 points and give New York another home win aginst the Richardson-less Warriors. It was not a beautiful game with both teams shooting around .400, but all that matter in the end is that the Knicks are solidifying their Playoff spot.

March 29, 2005

LA Lakers 111 – New York 96 (Record:38-32)
Stephon Marbury took it upon himself to punish his former teammates with 23 points and flawless tempo control, that had the Staples Canter faithful giving him a standing ovation after the final buzzer. Caron Butler added another 21 for the Lakers, while the Knicks were led offensively by Allan Houston’s 18.

March 31, 2005

NBA Review:

Eastern Conference Standings:

1. Indiana Pacers 49-22
2. Miami Heat 45-28
3. Philadelphia 76ers 44-28
4. Detroit Pistons 43-28
5. Boston Celtics 40-32
6. Orlando Magic 40-32
7. New York Knicks 38-32
8. Washington Wizards 37 – 34

9. Cleveland Cavaliers 35-35

10. New Jersey Nets 32-40

11. Chicago Bulls 28-43

12. Toronto Raptors 26-46 X

13. Milwaukee Bucks 25-47 X

14. Charlotte Bobcats 22-49 X

15. Atlanta Hawks 19 – 53 X

The Pacers have taken the lead in the East, with Miami,Philly and Detroit vying for the 2nd spot. The playoff race is heating up as well, with New York being only 3 games ahead of the Cavs. New jersey still hopes , but is rather behind at this point in the season.

Western Conference Standings:

1. Minnesota Timberwolves 59-14
2. Dallas Mavericks 50-22
3. Phoenix Suns 46-26
4. Houston Rockets 43-30
5. Denver Nuggets 40-30
6. San Antonio Spurs 40-31
7. Sacramento Kings 40-33
8. LA Lakers 38-33

9. Memphis Grizzlies 36-35

10. LA Clippers 30-42

11. Portland Trail Blazers 29-42

12. New Orleans Hornets 28-43

13. Seattle Supersonics 28-44

14. Golden State Warriors 27-45 X

15. Utah Jazz 17-55 X

The Wolves have all but clinched homecourt in the playoffs and the best record in the NBA, one month prior to the regular season conclusion. Lots of teams are fighting for the 4th seed, with San Antonio never really getting into a rhythm so far, stuck at 6th at the moment. The race between the Lakers and the Grizzlies for the 8th seed should provide some drama.

April 1, 2005

New York 109 – New Jersey 92 (Record:39-32)
With an amazing 35-14 4th quarter effort, the Knicks routed their local and divisional rivals in the end, bringing jubilation to the Garden crowd. Timmy Thomas had his best game of the season, with 38 points and 10 rebounds on great percentage, too. Houston seconded him with 20, while Derek Fisher’s 11 points in crucial moments off the bench kept New York in the game early on. Jason Kidd had 20 for the Nets.

Image

April 3, 2005

Milwaukee 106 – New York 114 (Record:40-32)
Lamar Odom took it upon himself to lead the playoff-hunting Knicks to a win in Bradley Center against the already disqualified, but always dangerous at home Bucks. He put up 33 points on the board and grabbed 13 rebounds, many of which were offensive. Jamal Crawford added 27 points with 5 assists, and also helped stave off Desmond Mason’s surge, who had only 2 of his 41 total points scored in t e4th quarter, when the game got decided.

Image

April 5, 2005

New York 109 – Indiana 112 (Record:40-33)
This rivalry game was as good as promised, with the Pacers barely edging out their opponents in the final stretches. Despite Odom’s phenomenal 32 pts – 10 reb – 8ast game, Ron Artest had the last laugh, helping his team overcome the Knicks with 31 points on offense. Reggie Miller showed some of his legendary Garden heroics at the end, too, to clinch it for Indiana.

April 7, 2005

New Jersey 97 – New York 86 (Record:40-34)
The Nets avoided the regular season sweep by the Knicks, aided by Jason Kidd’s leadership and Richard Jefferson’s all around play that nearly resulted in a triple double. The Knicks saw Crawford put up 27 on 9/22 shooting, but completely surrendered in the 4th, thus creating more anxiety about their playoff chances.

April 8, 2005

New York 105 – Chicago 109 ( OT ) (Record:40-35)
Not a good time in the season for the Knicks to lose 3 games in a row. Eddy Curry of the Bulls had one of his best performances this season with 30 points, 10 boards and 5 dimes, while rookies Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich played like seasoned veterans, especially in overtime. New York was led by Odom and Crwaford’s 23, while Brian Grant had a breakout performance off the bench with 18 points on 8/9 shooting, but it still proved to be less than enough.

April 10, 2005

Indiana 110 – New York 108 (Record:40-36)
A great chance for an all-important win against the Pacers at the Conseco Fieldhouse was squandered due to the many unnecessary yurnovers late in the 4th quarter. Lamar Odom’s fantastic performance with 38 points and 16 rebounds, along with Allan Houston’s 30 points were not enough to deter Jermaine O’Neal (26pts – 13rebs) and Reggie Miller ( 26 pts ) from getting the victory in the end.

Image

After the 4th straight loss for our team, here’s how the playoff hunt picture is at the moment:

.
.
.
6. Orlando 43-43
7. New York 40-36
8. Washington 40-37
9. Cleveland 38-39

We are still ahead of Cleveland by a few games, but this slide must stop if we are to reach the playoffs without any heart problems to go along

damn, this is getting interesting....I'd say you will hold on to a playoff spot as Cavs would need to win out to have any chance of making it, although I've got a feeling you might drop to the No. 8 spot....

looking forward to the playoffs and off-season coverage....

This is my first time getting a real good look at this dynasty and it's going really well. The playoffs are looking real tight for the Knicks and the last update was pretty bad for you only winning 2 games. And you only .5 game in front of the Cavs.

Tell me about it... To tell you the god honest truth, this dynasty has been the most fun I have been having playing live since I got th egame in October... Maybe the fact that I've been sick and stuck in bed for the last 4 days having not much else to do has had something to do with it, but it still was fun (Y) and it's only getting better, trust me :P

looking forward to the playoffs and off-season coverage....

I finished that last night, took me 4 straight hours. Man, I have to get better soon and gett my butt off the bed...

yeah, it's the worst time in th eyear to go on a slumb. Think th ereal life Cavs and you'll know how thi smight feel. And I'm 2.5 games ahead of the Cavs, which is good at this point. I'm playing at Cleveland and have Washington at the Garden in th elast few games so it's really up to me...

You have to make the Playoffs. Make us Knicks fans proud.

I'll give it my best shot, you know that. Although simmed games must go my way...

They're second now, tied with Philly. The East is so balanced this year that in the end, the second seeod will be about 48-34 and the 7th 43-39... This will make for interesting playoffs indeed, especially if it rekindles the old rivalry with the Heat... It's definitely the most possible scenario right about now...

April 12, 2005

New York 102 – Toronto 100 (Record:41-36)
A crucial victory against the lowly Raptors, that only came down to the last seconds. Crawford had 27 points, Odom 23, while Jamal Magloire was fighting off a slight injury yet still managed to down the ball 19 times for rebounds. The Raptors best player was Chris Bosh who scored 27 and caused a lot of problems to the New York defense.

April 13, 2005

Other Results: Washington 87 – Chicago 105. The Wizards are now 40-38, 1.5 games behind the Knicks
Detroit 102 – Orlando 90. The Magic are now 43-38, 2 games ahead of the Knicks.

April 14, 2005

Cleveland 93 – New York 82 (Record:41-37)
Had we won this one, we would be in the playoffs. But with Crawford and Houston shooting a combined 3/24 from the field and LeBron James leading the Cavs offensively with 29 points and 13 rebounds, as well as playing great defense, the Knicks did not have a chance to get the much needed win. Tim Thomas scord 14, but was too alone to make a difference.

April 15, 2005

Other Results:

Washington 114 – Cleveland 90. The Wiz are now 41-38, half a game behind us, and the Cavs are 39-39, 2 games behind.
Orlando are now 44-35, after destroying Chicago 101 – 72

April 16, 2005

Charlotte 83 – New York 87 (Record:42-37)
A second half continuous charge led by Tim Thomas and Lamar Odom, who dominated the paint against rookie Emeka Okafor. Houston had 18 points in crucial moments, most in the second half, in which the Knicks outscored the Bobcats 40-21. For Charlotte, Primoz Brezec had 18 points and 10 rebounds.

A victory against the lowly Hawks in the next game should get us in the playoffs if the Cavs lose their game that day...

April 17, 2005

New York 110 – Atlanta 85 (Record:43-37)
With this victory at the Garden against the vastly disappointing Hawks (21-58), the Knicks have clinched a playoff spot for this season, following Cleveland’s loss at Detroit. There was relief after the final buzzer, as the two games finished almost simultaneously. Jamal Crawford scored 29 and Odom 26 to help the Knicks rout their opposition and assure a winning record in 2005.

Other Results: Washington 103 – Charlotte 71. The Wiz are now one game behind the Knicks at 42-38 , and will be visiting the Garden in a few days for the last match of the regular season. This should be interesting… The 7th seed faces one of Miami/Philadelphia, while the 8th seed goes up against the mighty Pacers.

April 19, 2005

Chicago 102 – New York 89 (Record:43-38)
The Knicks dropped their chances of winning this one, despite Odom’s 30 points and 9 rebounds. Lack of common sense and poor shot selection in th e4th resulted in Ben Gordon taking charge of the game with his 27 points, aided by Curry who once more dominated our big men with his exceptional strength.

Other results: New Jersey 80 – Washington 77. Had the Knicks defeated the Bulls, they would have clinched the 7th seed but now it all comes down to tomorrow’s match, when New York faces Washington at the Garden. The regular season series is now at 1-1, so should the Wizards win, they will tie us but they have the tiebreaker and will get the 7th seed.

Nice Dinasty!

Postby hugo_marbury on Mon May 02, 2005 4:50 am

I loved the J. Magloire trade. Not sure about the Fisher trade. And what the f***? with the Marbury trade?

I would prefered to move Jay Cee for some defense and ofense like Corey Maggette, I don´t like Crawford, he is to soft and not a team player.

Also moving Tim Thomas and somebody else for D. Miles and Nick the Quick could´ve been cool. I loved that you trade for A. Davis, he is a very good defensive player.

keep it up

nice dinasty
