TORONTO, March 28 (Ticker)---
It was just another loss for the Knicks, this time against the Toronto Raptors.
Both teams didn´t have any chance to reach the playoffs, but seemed to be quickened by this fact. The Knicks led the game by 5, when the Raptors started an enormous comeback in the 4th to seal the win.

Charlie Villanueva was fouled with 0:05 on the clock and made his freethrows to give the Raptors a 3 point lead. The Knicks took a timeout and gave the ball to Quentin Richardson who was 3-3 from downtown at this time. Eddy Curry set the block and "Q" had an open shot, but couldn´t connect.

"I really can not understand why he misses that one, he had been a clutch player but in my opinion he lost this attribute through the whole season", GM C. Hov said.

From the first quarter it seemed like the Knicks were on fire. Qyntel Woods, who replaced Steve Francis had 12 points in the first quarter, and hit three shots from downtown showing his shot improvement.
The Raptors had problems to keep with them, but Chris Bosh and Charlie Villanueva did a good job rebounding the ball.
Although the Knicks shot very very well from the field (.58%) and from downtown (12-23) it wasn´t enough. Toronto outrebounded them 45-27 and took a season high 108 shot attempts.
Player Of The Game was Chris Bosh with 22/12. Remarkable for New York was Qyntel Woods with 21 points. Eddy Curry had a career high 6 assists topping his 5 @ Toronto 03/19/04. Toronto seems to be his thing.
The Knicks will have their next game on April the 7th, vs Phoenix at home . Read more about Phoenix some lines further.
And for the second time in the last two weeks, Knicks GM C. Hov announced big changes in New York, but didn´t want to go into detail.

"We have to change many things in order to get this franchise back into the postseason, I have to admit, we did not do enough, we wanted to give everybody in this organization a chance to proove what he/she can do, but next season will be something special"

Pacific race

PHOENIX, March 29th (Ticker)---
The Phoenix Suns won the hard fight and clamber rank one in the Pacific Division, what could be very important due the home advantage.

It was Raja Bell who killed the Clippers in the end, but not with one game winner, he made it safe with 3-3 from downtown in the last quarter.
The Suns started with run`n´gun. They had a season high 43 points in the first quarter.
Steve Nash played great, dishing out 11 assists and scoring 12 points.

"We want to go into the postseason with the advantage of having game seven at home, since we weren´t that consistent this season so far, we may need this", he said.

The Clippers defense did a great job in the second quarter limiting the Suns to a season-low 11 points at this time, but topped it in the 3rd with 9. Season-high and season-low in one game, that shows the Suns´ inconsistence.

"We did a strong effort of defending them, you always need one quarter to get to know them, but then you have to play tough defense and have to run very much to limit their chances, the last quarter was simply too unconcentrated", Elton Brand said.

Brand had 17 points and 10 rebounds in the ball game.
Corey Maggette added 20 for the Clipps, who only hit 3-12 from downtown, Suns were 9-20.
In the last quarter the Suns came back trailing by 13.
Steve Nash hit some open shots and Amare Stoudemire hammered down a monstrous windmill with the foul.
Shawn Marion, who only scored 3 points, grabbed big boards to give the Suns second chances. They outscored the Clippers by 16 in the last.

The Suns are now the 2nd best team of the league behind the Rockets and lead the Pacific Division followed by the Los Angeles Clippers.

Sucks that you lost again. Good game by Woods
Good game by Suns and Clips. I hate when in sim games such players like Marion scores only 3 points, something should be wrong with his primacy rating

Well he is averaging about 18 I guess but that is no problem since the Suns have a very balanced offense. But yeah it sucks he only took about 4 shots ....

March has past by, heres some info

Standings

Image

Image

This time we take a look at the Conference Standings.
The three Division leaders lead the way in the Western Conference.
The Memphis Grizzlies really bounced back big with a 6 win streak and almost secured their place in the posteseason. If nothing special happens, the Spurs are safe, which means New Orleans, Sacramento and Denver fight for the last playoff seed.

In the Eastern Conference things look way more clear.
Indiana, Cleveland, Philadelphia and Detroit clinched berth. Philly has already won their Division. Washington is the only team, that is already out, since they have played 28 games so far (of 29).
But Charlotte, New York and Toronto do not have any realistic chances left. There are 6 teams playing out the last 3 spots for playoffs.

If you want to take a look at the Divisions, look here.

Pacific Division
Northwest Division
Southeast Division
Central Division
Atlantic Division

New York Knicks

April, 7th

NEW YORK, April 7 (Ticker)---
It was more of a test for the Knicks vs the Phoenix Suns, since the season is pretty over and the Suns are one of the hottest team of the league. But the Knicks did pretty well ending up with an only 3 point deficit.

It was Steve Nash who made 2 freethrows after he got fouled at the end of the game to give the Suns a three point lead with 1 second left on the clock. The Knicks couldn´t get off a shot in time and lost.

In a game which was more of a chance for every player to show that he wants to stay with the Knickerbockers organization, the Knicks trailed from the very beginning.
Phoenix did what made them strong this season. Playing run and gun basketball and shooting threes.
Raja Bell was 4-5 from downtown, Suns had 7-12 in the game.
Another big factor this season is Amaré Stoudemire. He grabbed strong 16 boards and had some huge putback powerslams.
Steve Nash struggled after he was injured in the 2nd when he caught the ball and it hit his finger. He continued playing but had only 8 points and 3 assists in limited 20 minutes.

The Knicks gave a chance for Keith Van Horn and Qyntel Woods, starting with a big lineup.
Van Horn did quite ok, had 16 points, but shot only 6-17.
Qyntel Woods had an off night with zero points on a 0-5 shooting.
Nate Robinson suprised with strong 9 points and 4 thefts. He also dished out 6 assists.

"I see more and more, who wants to play and who does well in order to get this franchise back to the top in time. I told Larry, what I think and some players will definitely moved during offseason. But they still have 5 games to show us what they got", GM Hov said.

SEATTLE, April 8 (Ticker)---
It was just another test for the Francis-less Knicks against the Sonics, who did also play for nothing but a lil bit of dignity.
The Knicks again tried another concept of a starting lineup, playing small ball with Crawford, Marbury and Robinson.

And it looked like it doesn´t work. The Sonics led with 15 points after the first. They scored a season high 38 in this quarter.
The Knicks wanted to make it happend on the offensive end, Marbury vs Allen seemed to be a pretty good matchup and Crawford is way quicker than Lewis. But they forgot the D. Lewis was more than handful for Crawford and Allen shot threes over Marbury.
They combined for 51 of the 109 Sonics points.

Nate Robinson did again a good job on the point guard spot with 10 points and 7 assists, but he had also 5 turnovers.
Stephon Marbury used his space against Ray Allen and scored 25 points.
Luke Ridnour showed his best with 22 points, but was only 7-23 from the field. The game was pretty much over when the Knicks bounced back in the 4th but couldn´t come closer than three points.
The Knicks shot very well from the charitiy stripe(26-30) and outrebounded th Sonics (39-36). But two go-to-guys were too much for them.
Channing Frye had a good game with 18 points, Jamal Crawford added 16.
Veterand Byron Russell had a bench high 13 for the Sonics.
Next Knicks game will be against the Warriors in California.

"We will try some other alternatives with our lineup, we have to check several models", Larry Brown claimed.

Sun May 28, 2006 10:20 pm

Two close losses, tough luck dude.

Now I know you must be angry but it there really any reason to post 4 times in a row? :P :P

Sun May 28, 2006 11:08 pm

All your losses are so close.
Good that you rotating roster, such trying all roster possibilities.
It is normal that you lost vs Seattle.
Players must have beed tired of long journey from New York to Seattle and played without rest at April 8th after loss at April 7th  Stupid shedulle..

April, 9th

A young, shy man entering the Knicks gym, trying not to draw too much attention, while the Knickerbockers stars had a training session after their tough loss vs the Supersonics last night.
Coach Brown says hello, eyes up the guy and sends him to the left halfcourt.
Then he pulls Malik Rose, a 10 year veteran to follow the young unobstrusive guy. They start a one and one and Malik gets posted up, dunked on twice and also blocked three times.

"K, that is enough, let´s go home...", an usually serious Brown jokes and the young man disappears in the locker room.

That is just what the workout of LaMarcus Aldridge looked like yesterday.
The New York Knicks invited him and he made sure they will remember him till the draft, as they are one of the top contenders for the 1st pick.

ImageImage

LaMarcus is a smooth post player. He runs extremely well for a 6-11 big man. He posseses some great inside scoring moves and has great footwork. He is a very good shotblocker and has long arms and a quick leap. Tim Duncan should be a good comparison from the type of player he is.
But he isn´t a hard player. He doesn´t like the physical game, more of a finesse player.
Knicks aren´t too sure about him, but want to invite every player who is considered to be one of the top 5 plus some some special players.

Information

Name: LaMarcus Aldridge
Position: F
Bithplace: Dallas, Texas
College: Texas
Bithdate: 7/19/1985
Height: 6-11
Weight: 237 lbs.

With ur record u might end up in top 3 and draft LaMarcus!

Mon May 29, 2006 6:13 am

Good report. You will be able to draft whatever you want if you get high pick of the draft. Looking forward to other top 5 draftees

Mon May 29, 2006 8:12 am

Dude nice go for Aldridge (Y). I always seem to get the 3rd pick in the draft, though. Be ready for that even though you could pretty much get any position.

New York Knicks

April, 10th

ImageNew York Knicks 86
ImageGolden State Warriors 98

ImageImageImage

OAKLAND, Calif., April 10 (Ticker)---
Two teams without the chance for the playoffs went against each other, and at least the Warriors showed some big stuff.

Golden State played big with a lot of highlight dunks and alley-oop plays, while the Knicks were just playing, because they had to.

"I´d say this is quite normal, you have no goal and you can see this, especially on the road. It´s hard to say that, but that´s it.", Stephon Marbury said.

The Warriors played great transition basketball. Jason Richardson scored 24 points, Baron Davis added 16.
Troy Murphy did a very good game with 17 points and 14 boards and Andris Biedrins suprised with 13 boards and 14 points. Jason Richardson showed a 360° dunk and two big windmills, one over Eddy Curry. He also had 6 assists and 6 rebounds to be the Player Of The Game.

The Knicks had some major problems on the offensive side.
Jamal Crawford scored a team-high 20 points. Quentin Richardson added 14 and Eddy Curry 12. Stephon Marbury showed a lack of effort and scored a season low 4 points. Nate Robinson played again solid off the bench with 11 points and 4 assists.

The Knicks were outrebounded 39-49. Both teams shot under .250% from downtown. New York´s field goal percentage was season low .400%.
The Knicks are still the weakest team, while the Warriors can at least reach a record over .500%.
The Warriors will make the playoffs next year with "J-Rich" still progressing and a solid "B-Diddy". Troy Murphy and Andris Biedrins will make a pretty good frontcourt, but it´s still not clear if Mike Dunleavy stays, since it´s claimed that he is just bothering the run&gun style of the team with his lack of quickness.

Lakers still struggling

April, 12th

ImageCleveland Cavaliers 113
ImageLos Angeles Lakers 92

ImageImageImage

LOS ANGELES, April 12 (Ticker)---
The Los Angeles Lakers lost again to make it 8 in a row, and to make the last game vs the New York Knicks maybe the game about the last spot in the whole league.
The Cavalieres, however, didn´t care about the weak Lakers and played like a Conference Finals contender has to.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas had his 2nd 30+ game consecutively. Larry Hughes showed he is still there offensively scoring 26. LeBron James played well, with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
The Cavaliers led the whole game, shot better from the field and especially from the line (.79% - .69%).

For the Lakers Kobe and Lamar were both shy of a triple double but only combined for 39 points, a number Kobe usually can take on the score board on his own (27.2 PPG).
Devean Geroge added 17 points, for the Cavs Donyell Marshall, who replaced Drew Gooden in the starting five after his hard injury, added 12.

The Cavs were qualified before and the Lakers out before this game.
