I knew you'd bite at that  but the little guy doing the try-hard Westside symbol is half-Greek (his dad is Greek and so are his grandparents)....he's definitely a character, that's for sure....he doesn't share the usual tall, dark features of most Greek, but he does share the hairiness  on a side note, on his way back from Greece he got stripped search after patting a drug dog  will be good to catch up with him around New Years when he cruises over this way and we head down to Athens outside of Athens (Melbourne) for New Years....

there you go Phlo, now that's going off-topic, but it's my thread so I will do with it as I please :D

we head down to Athens outside of Athens (Melbourne) for New Years....

You totally lost me here...

Greek hairiness is a myth. As you can see in my pics, I have nary a single hair in my torso... Maybe that myth is behind the recent Yeti comments

his dad is Greek and so are his grandparents

Well tell him Dweaver said " Elladara, ole! ".

okay here it goes....Melbourne (Australia's 2nd largest city) has the largest Greek population in the world outside of Athens, so Melbourne is commonly referred to as Athens outside of Athens....the place is just chocka block full of Greeks, Italians, Lebanese, etc....it's a melting pot down there....

Agent Dweaver99027 wrote:Well tell him Dweaver said " Elladara, ole! ".

I'll forget that by the time I talk to him next....knowing you, it probably ain't Greek anyway :o

Fri Mar 25, 2005 7:53 am

Fri Mar 25, 2005 7:58 am

A dynasty that combines basketball and education, David Stern should see this. (y)

Fri Mar 25, 2005 11:09 pm

There 'd better be an update soon X, or this will turn into a very nice :spam: thread...

Sat Mar 26, 2005 12:21 am

I think you're right so it's back to the dynasty, and I'm gonna be having all the scouting reports in the next couple of days since it's Easter and all....

SCOUTING REPORT #1

We start off this season's scouting in Africa, which in basketball terms is usually renowned for providing great athletes who are unfortunately usually very raw and big projects.

AFRICA

Image

This season is no different in Africa as the continent has provided nothing of substance for NBA scouts to even blink twice. Most of the projects were pretty good athletes with little to no basketball skills. No one scouted even figures to be drafted this season. There is therefore no reason to waste anymore time discussing this region.

CHANGING OF THE GUARD?!?

This season's draft will feature only one high school prospect as the word from scouts is that teams have gone off the idea of drafting youngsters who aren't ready for the bigtime. This move is surprising considering that scouts projected a bix influx of youngsters before the new rules that were brought in the recent Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Commissioner David Stern has instituted an age limit through the CBA, whereby players have to be or turn 20 in the year of the draft to be able to submit their availability to be drafted. There is however a clause in the CBA that allows NLSC players to enter the draft even if they are younger than 20 years of age.

So which high schooler has made the jump to the pros you may ask, well it's none other than athletic swingman Gerald Green out of Gulf Shores Academy (Houston, Texas). Green has been compared to Tracy McGrady coming out of high school, so the thought of another T-Mac (minus the attitude of course) has team GMs salivating at the thought.

Image
Get use to this sight, as you're gonna get plenty of chances to see it over Green's career

The big two surprise high school non-entries in the draft have to do be SG's Monta Ellis (Lanier HS, Miss. St) and Louis Williams (South Gwinnett, Georgia). Both kids are undersized SG's at 6'3" and 6'2" respectively, and it makes sense for them to play some college ball to try and learn some PG skills to take their serious game to the next level.

Image
Mississippi State is over the moon to hear that they haven't missed out on another All-American recruit (Jonathan Bender being the last one). Ellis' scoring ability should help the Bulldogs compete in the SEC

Image
Williams surprised all scouts by taking his superb scoring ability to Georgia. Like Ellis and other high schoolers, Williams will have to wait another season or two before going pro

AMERICA - THE LAND OF OPPORTUNITY

Will this year's crop of Euros prove doubters wrong?!? I think only time will tell whether these guys will be the next Nowitzki, the next Gasol, the next Tony Parker or the next Skita or Darko. Either way, let's take a look at the under 22 Euros who have decided to throw their names in the draft pool.

WHO'S IN?

Martynas Andriuskevicius (Zalgiris Kaunas)

Andriuskevicius is a projected top 5 pick and couldn't turn the lurn of the NBA any longer as he declared his intentions to enter the draft. At 7'3", skilled and with big upside, he's got plenty of teams hoping for the next Arvydas Sabonis

Image
The team that ends up using a top 5 pick on this Lithuanian will hope that his NBA career is as long as his name

Tiago Splitter (Tau Vitoria)

Europe couldn't hold the immense offensive talent of Tiago Splitter for any longer as he declared for the 2006 Draft. Splitter is a top 10 pick who could move higher with good workouts.

Image
I know he's Brazilian, but he's playing in Europe, so it's as good as

Johan Petro (Pau Orthez)

This athletic French bigman has declared for the draft and figures to be drafted somewhere in the middle of the 1st Round, with the prospect of possibility sliding into the late lottery.

Image
Yes, we are sure teams will be impressed with your wingspan Petro, you can stop showing off now

Rudy Fernandez (Joventut Badalona)

This Spanish combo guard has declared despite having a large contract buyout with his European club team. This could affect his stock and push him down into the late 1st Round. However, someone will overlook the contract issues as Rudy is a superb Euro talent.

Image
First priority for Rudy after getting a guaranteed contract is getting a haircut!!!

WHO'S OUT?

Nemanja Aleksandrov (KK Reflex)

Not declaring was probably a good move for Aleksandrov as it gives him some more time to work on his game. Teams don't want the next project like Skita or Darko. Aleksandrov is only 18 and has a few years to fine tune his game before bringing it to the NBA.

Image
He seems a bit too much like Skita to me, so I'm glad he's gonna wait a while

Andrea Bargnani (Benetton Treviso)

It was a good move for this Italian Nowitzki to wait another year before applying for the draft. If he comes back next season and plays well in Europe, he will secure a certain lottery selection.

Image
Bargnani will get plenty of time to eat more pasta over the next year

Roko-Leni Ukic (KK Split)

All of the NLSC PG's scared off Ukic from declaring this season. Ukic will be draft-eligible next season as he will be 22. Only problem is there are guards like Chris Paul, Raymond Felton and possibly Jarrett Jack and Daniel Gibson ahead of him. Interesting dilemma, but Ukic will be fine.

Image
I think if his frame doesn't scare off potential suitors, then his name definitely will

Sat Mar 26, 2005 5:29 pm

yo man i love the scouting keep them comin man  :P

SCOUTING REPORT #2

The next scouting stop was the Asia-Pacific region, which is starting to produce more and more quality NBA-calibre prospects.

ASIA-PACIFIC

Four quality NLSC prospects headline the improving Asia-Pacific Region.

MARK MOORE (Match_66)

Image

Moore has recently surged up the draft boards as he brings an uncommon maturity to his game as an 18 year old freshman. Moore looks to be New Zealand's first ever player to be drafted in the 1st Round (Watson and Marks were both picked in the 2nd Round). Not only will he be a 1st Round pick, he is currently slotted in as the No. 1 PG prospect in the draft and figures to be a Top 5 pick come June. Look out for good things from this kid.

NBA Comparison - Tony Parker

Image
Match66 needs to hit the weightroom if he wants to score this easily around the basket

RUSSEL SANTOS (Micchy_boy)

Image

Whilst not renown for their basketball prowess, the Phillipines has been home to a hidden gem in Russel Santos. For those of you who don't already know, Santos is a 6'5" lefty who gives opposing SG's problems at both ends of the court. He's got a nice mid-range jumper and gets in the face of his opposition and is regularly found picking off loose passes. At present Santos is a bubble lottery pick.

NBA Comparison - Manu Ginobili

Image
Micchy_boy is a calculating player who is always looking at ways to take advantage of his opponents on both ends of the court

WILL SIT (Sit)

Image

You're probably wondering this - how can someone who is only 5'8" and 137lbs figure to be a mid-1st Round prospect. The answer to that is simple. He's got game. This Asian sensation can put the ball in the hole and when he steps foot on the court, he means business. What's more, the kid is only 17 and has plenty of upside (and hopefully a couple of inches of growth in him too). Will Sit currently resides in Brisbane, Australia and has shocked many observers to be declaring straight out of high school, and Down Under of all places.

NBA Comparison - Earl Boykins

Image
Teams like Sit's scoring ability from the PG position, but it's the off-court issues that has some concerned, as have been well-documented in many publications

PAUL WATSON

Image

Following the NBA success of his younger brother Andrew, Paul Watson has used the same clause to enter the 2006 NBA Draft at the ripe old age of 27  Paul is an undersized PG who has little-to-no shooting ability, but strives on getting the rest of his teammates involved. He's quick, a defensive ace and a multi-sport star. Due to his age and lack of shooting ability, Paul Watson will struggle to get into the late 1st Round, and is more likely and early 2nd Round selection.

NBA Comparison - Charlie Ward

Image
Could the stars align to bring Paul alongside his younger brother in a Bobcats uniform?!? Only time will tell, however Bobcats' scouts insist they will use their 2nd Round pick to select the best available talent

Sat Mar 26, 2005 6:17 pm

Sat Mar 26, 2005 8:02 pm

lmao @ X and Match_66... so how which one of u was better in high school???

And awesome scouting report... wats with the 'off-court' issues? Am I on dope or some shit?

Sat Mar 26, 2005 9:00 pm

Nice reports, man , keep 'em coming...

Where the hell did you get 40000 dynasty points from? Tell me you didn't cheat... :|

Sat Mar 26, 2005 11:32 pm

Where the hell did you get 40000 dynasty points from? Tell me you didn't cheat... :|

yep I cheated on that one  ....I needed the dynasty points so I could have all scouting reports done well before the end of season so I could speed up the process....I'm only using them for scouting, not gaining dynasty extras or training up players....if I played every game I wouldn't need the points, but you and everyone else knows when you sim games, you get sweet bugger all points to work with (ie. some simmed games you are lucky to get 30 points)....

Sit wrote:lmao @ X and Match_66... so how which one of u was better in high school???

Match_66 has only just recently finished high school so we never went to high school at the same time....he's from Ashburton which is a stone's throw away from where I'm from....he also told me he whipped my old school's butt when he played them....my school's bball must have gone downhill since I left as we won a title in my senior year and the team also won the year after :D

Sit wrote:And awesome scouting report... wats with the 'off-court' issues? Am I on dope or some shit?

no, but we can arrange that for your guy if you want  I'm just relating players to their NLSC personalities....and with your "Sit's Story Thread", you clearly have a lot of issues going on at the moment, although they related to girls, not drugs

cheers for all the comments guys, I'll definitely be continuing them as every region and NLSC player will be scouted....

Sat Mar 26, 2005 11:48 pm

sweet. like reading the scouting reports and all
