hey Micchyboy, you were saying about spending the $10 or so mill this off-season....these are the best available free agents....Bonzi Wells is best available SG....hmmm....

Image

in other news the Bobcats late 4th quarter charge against the Bulls as moved them to a franchise record 15 wins in a season as they moved to a 15-32 record, which surpasses last year's league-worst 14-44 record....

on page 1 of the thread I updated the BPMM Standings and the Record Book....

Wed Mar 16, 2005 8:58 am

well you can sign 2 good players for that money or sign player with higherst ratings and trade him....

or maybe as you said sign some player with 1 year contract and wait for the nxt off-season when the draft class of james-melo becomes free agent...

I'm not slackin' as much anymore:

...from the annals of the 2005 Birdie Project: (info)
The X's Bobcats 2005-06 3-quarterseason Birdie Breakdown:

Image

It appears that where Arenas is dropping a little due to injury, 'Meka is reaching in deeper, slightly increasing his weighted birdie score to 19.50 - grabbing his 7th team MVP recognition and yet another 'reversible' Live Card Will be enabled.

The competition gets fiercer:
This Dynasty instance is currently ranked #24 on the 2005 Birdie Board.
(and still NO PENALTY POINTS! Impressive!)

For the complete 'Birdie Breakdown', click here.

The X: Thanks again man for your most recent submission. I once again, gave your card some 'creative' space and waiting for a cool 'one-liner'...I think you can come up with something better than "he's got no legs!" ...hehe let me know.

Will I hope that Arenas can come back in full force! As always, let me know when you finish up the season. - Honor Glow

yep, and there will be another 2 Kiwis joining the ranks in the 2006 draft (P. Watson & Match66) (Y) ....still no Sri Lankans though :? hmm....maybe I'll put my mate in draft in a few seasons time....whilst he wasn't born there, his mum was, so he's 50% Sri Lankan....

to everyone else, I am heading off for weekend up the coast for a bit of fishing, going to the beach, drinking, clubbing and whatever else comes up....so that means no updates before the 20th....once I get back I might finally start some of those scouting report that I've been talking about since the start of the season

Fri Mar 18, 2005 9:00 am

Don't forget the Filipinos! We come to play BABY!

Have a good vacation, look forward to those scouting reports!

MARCH 2006 SUMMARY

With star PG Arenas down injured for the entire month of March and the playoffs almost being an impossibility, the Bobcats did something they've never done before, the played loose as if they had nothing to lose. With a new starting backcourt of Watson and Blake, the team used home-and-away season series wins over the Cavs and the 76ers to propel themselves to the team's 1st winning month (6-4) in franchise history :P The other two victories came at home against the Bulls and the Nuggets.

At the start of March, Charlotte were 12-29 and looking down the barrell at the wooden spoon once again. At the end of March, Charlotte are 18-33, and with the big losing streaks of the Knicks, Raptors, Hawks, Magic & Wizards, the playoffs are still a mathematical possibility. Although, the team would probably have to win out in April and hope other results fall their way. So in other words, the season is pretty much over. However, it is encouraging to see the way the team has gelled over the last month or so. Let's hope it can continue into the 2006/07 season.

NLSC PLAYER UPDATE (MARCH '06)

This is a monthly section that will highlight different NLSC Players each month. As there is only one NLSC Player at the moment (me ), for this season it will just be a short recap of what my guy is doing. Once next season (06/07) rolls over, I'd say that this piece will hold a bit more interest to you guys.

SG- Andrew Watson (The X), 6'2", 220lbs (31st pick in the 2005 NBA Draft by Charlotte)

Image
Paul Silas wonders what this long white sock business is about. "Kids these days"

Kid starts all 10 games, team goes 6-4, puts up career highs in points (22) in the month, averages 13.0ppg, 3.1rpg & 3.3apg, and matched up well (14.5ppg, 2.5rpg, 4.0apg & 1.0spg) against Lebron James (19.5ppg, 2.5rpg, 3.0apg & 2.0spg) in the Bobcats' home-and-away wins against the Cavs. Needless to say, the Bobcats' aren't complaining about the play of their 2nd Round pick. It should be interesting to see if Watson can continue this solid play through April.

Andrew Watson's 2005/06 Stats:
6.1ppg, 1.5rpg, 2.4apg, 0.58spg
5.32 NBA Efficiency Rating
4.05 Raw Birdie Score
3.41 Weighted Birdie Score

I would never do such a thing  but it's good to see that my sim team is starting to give me a chance in intervening game and simmed games :D

PIC OF THE MONTH

I've decided to have 2 pics this month. In the 1st pic, Wallace is lucky to not kick the camera man on this ferocious throwdown. Meanwhile, Beatles' fan Watson, doesn't mind getting a little help from his friends, especially if he has to defend Lebron James.

Shame this kid always chokes when it comes to the Dunk Contest

Image
You didn't actually think we were silly enough to let you go 1-on-1 against the X did you Bron Bron?!?

Wed Mar 23, 2005 11:51 pm

that's March summary....I also updated a few things on page 1 of the thread, just the usual (BPMM Leaderboard, Team Records and Hall of Fame/Awards etc)....

the big news is that Easter weekend starts tomorrow, and with free time, it means I'm gonna get those darn scouting reports done  might start them tomorrow night, but could be :chug: , so if not then, then on Good Friday

be prepared :o

Can you spell B-I-A-S-E-D? j/k

Gerald Wallace almost suspended for kicking a camera man
I must admit that I like Guy better than Watson (you), not only based on stats, but your cyberface has this eternal smile on it which makes it look like a clown to me.

there is naturally going to be some bias, as there is in your dynasty was with Luke Walton :D but nah, there ain't too much bias....X gets his points in the flow of the offence....mostly come from spot-up 3's and so on....with Arenas out, Watson has moved up to 4th scoring option, but once he's back, he'll get less looks....and once I get a decent SG (this off-season), Watson will play a career role as a Jon Barry-like player :D

ceekay wrote:I must admit that I like Guy better than Watson (you), not only based on stats, but your cyberface has this eternal smile on it which makes it look like a clown to me.

Well Guy was a Top 5 pick so I'd expect him to be a lot better than a rookie that was ranked 54th in his class  Watson is a role player, nothing more, nothing less....as I said above, he's destined for a bench role next season once I upgrade the backcourt....

as for the cyberface, Melo did well based on the pathetic pic I gave him....the clown look is probably due to the headshape I'm using....I'll try to find a good one so you don't have to relive any more bad childhood memories

Which reminds me, I have a dynasty to update...

Don't tell that to Michael Redd...

Stephen King's "IT" reference?

Thu Mar 24, 2005 12:12 pm

well, maybe should post your pic so more people can have a shot at changing it to make it less... clownish.

sounds serious, was it with the girl in your avatar

you mean my mate Ross....that's probably the look he was going for....he's got a mean-ass goatie, can grow it in a few weeks....he's a very hair man  but that pic got taken before Big Day Out (a day long rock festival which Metallica played at that day) a year ago with some of my mates in New Zealand....

also, I've noticed you've had some pretty hard luck getting a cyberface done....it seems like a few people have said they would do it and it hasn't been done while other people rock up out of nowhere and get it done....if I get time in the next couple of weeks, and if no one else has already done it, I will give your cyberface a shot....before you thank me, I'm an amatuer patcher so it probably won't end up too good, but I'll see what I can do....
