ahh well....at the moment Mo Peterson is injured so even if I wanted to trade for him I couldn't :|

2006 SLAM DUNK CONTEST

The Slam Dunk Contest Participants are as follows:

F- Travis Outlaw (Portland)
C- Amare Stoudemire (Phoenix)
F- Antawn Jamison (Washington)
G- Kenyon Dooling (Orlando)

----

With the All-Star teams selected, we immediately looked to who got snubbed, and this year there was even more big names missing out. For the East the major snubbees were Ben Wallace, Richard Hamilton and Chauncey Billups (Detroit), Ron Artest (Indiana), Michael Redd (Milwaukee), Jason Kidd (New Jersey) and Gilbert Arenas (Washington). For the West the major snubbees were Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas), Carmelo Anthony (Denver), Baron Davis (Golden State), Pau Gasol (Memphis), Kevin Garnett (Minnesota), Amare Stoudemire and Shawn Marion (Phoenix), Zach Randolph (Portland), Mike Bibby (Sacramento), Ray Allen (Seattle) and Andrei Kirilenko (Utah). A lot of big names there, especially in the West.

The Rookie Stars' reserves were well selected, although it would have been nice to see Charles Villanueva (Toronto) supply more balance to the squad. The Sophomore Stars also have a great bench, who are all better than the guys that they are backing up. Go figure.

As for the Slam Dunk Contest, it shapes up to be one of the most boring contests in history with no big names involved. Looking at the lineup, you would have to imagine that it's going to become a dunk-off between Outlaw and Dooling, with Stoudemire as the darkhorse. Either way, don't expect too many people to be watching.

I do however expect a fun weekend and I'll be ther to cover it. So long fellas, catch you on the flipside.

Lamar is SF, KG is PF....Booze is averaging about 21 & 10 on a 2-18 team whereas Randolph is getting 22 & 12 on a 5-11 team....and Garnett was averaging about 20 & 10 plus big defense....bloody Boozer :x

Kenyon Dooling will win the Dunk Contest, mark my words (& no I haven't done it yet), the kid can get up and throw it down

yep, but Booze is an All-Star and the others (besides Lebron) are not....it's unfortunate, but it's the way it always is in my dynasties....remember when Dunleavy beat out all the other SF to be a reserve in my 'Cats dynasty?

I'll give him a chance to do that by letting the CPU control the action, at least he'll have a chance then  and who knows, maybe he can do a Josh Smith, throw on a Clyde Drexler throwback jersey

Brand took Duncan's spot at the PF position  Antawn Jamison in the dunk contest is a first though, I would've never expected him to be in anything like that

cheers, although why are the plays involved quite wack?!? thought they were pretty realistic deals, give-or-take....or do you mean that the players involved aren't that high profile?!?

DERON & ROOKIE TEAMMATES BREATHE NEW LIFE INTO ASW

By 'The X'
NLSC Insider

Updated: Feb. 17, 2006, 11.59 PM ET --

The show that these young kids put on tonight was phenomenal. Not only did they entertain the crowd, but they played hard and with passion. In the end, it was MVP Deron William's 17 point 4th quarter that helped the Rookie Stars pull away in the final minute to win 122-115.

Deron can put this piece of hardware on his Trophy Cabinet next to his hot wife

Here's the boxscores from the game:

Here's a few highlights from the game:

ImageImage
Sophomore guard Chris Duhon (Chicago) completely breaks the ankles of Rookie high school centre Andrew Bynum (LA Lakers) on his way to 13pts. However it was Andrew Bynum who would get the last laugh as his Rookie Team got the win and he silenced his critics with a monster 16pt, 14reb display

ImageImage
Sophomore guard Sebastian Telfair (Portland) glides in for the layup (above left); meanwhile forward Dwight Howard (Orlando) was a beast inside with 24pts and some big-time dunks

ImageImage
Sophomore guard JR Smith (New Orleans-Oklahoma City) was scoring big with 27pts which involved many long bombs and highlight reel dunks

ImageImage
Andrew Bogut (Milwaukee) put up yet another double-double (11pts & 10rebs) but this time it was for the rookies. Bogut (above right) put an exclamation point on the game late in the 4th quarter with his impression of Magilla Gorilla

Tune in tomorrow as I'll cover the festivities from All-Star Saturday, and I know you won't want to miss that.
