Pape Sow, Matt Bonner, Joey Graham... three guys you could get. Maybe Joey is a rookie and Bonner is I believe popular.. but u could get Sow. After all, he's fro mSenegal and heaps of Senegalese people, I'm sure love their national heroes!

Pape Sow + Mo Pete sounds good to me! (Y)

Tue Jan 17, 2006 10:43 pm

did you just say Pape?

I better stop this talk soon before Weaver catches a whiff of it and runs with it :shifty:

I like Graham but I wanna see how he goes with Raptors....who would you suggest that I would give up for Mo and Pape....Patterson ($6.35mill) and Mo's ($4.55mill) salaries don't match up at all....Pape ($641k) doesn't bring him close....hmm...maybe I can make it a 6 player deal and take Aaron Williams ($3.38mill) and I'd throw in like Spider Smith ($771k) and Sergei Monia (approx $800k I think)....

that would bring the salaries within about 8% or so which is below the required 10% threshold....

I would be giving up Monia, a promising rookie swingman, to compensate the Raptors for giving up Mo Peterson....

after the season is up, Aaron Williams' salary comes off the books, and I got Pape and Mo for another season at pretty good salaries....

I don't know how the ratings work as far as whether the Raptors would go for it....who knows....maybe I would have to give up Ha instead of Spider....

will investigate the opportunities in the coming days....I hope Weaver doesn't wet his pants with the prospect of Pape coming to town

we seem to be a good trading team Sit....you throw a name or two out, I spin a couple more, work the salaries and cap consequences and any other technicality, and get it going on :P

NLSC Insider

Updated: Feb. 13, 2006, 10.28 PM ET --

----

Well, there you go folks. You've just seen a sneak peek of what All-Star Weekend in Houston might look like. Some quick notes.

Image

For the East, Toronto's Chris Bosh and Atlanta's Joe Johnson make their 1st All-Star Game appearances. What's even more surprising is that each player selected has never been a starter in an All-Star Game before now. Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Shaquille O'Neal must be scratching their heads on why they are not starting for the East, but truth be told, the guys in front of them have been having career years.

Image

Moving West, it's great to see Sacramento's Mike Bibby finally make the All-Star grade. Looking at the makeup of the starting lineup, it's got a very California come Texas feel, with all 5 players playing in each of those States. You can't really fault the West's starting lineup with guys like Yao, Brand and Bibby having career years and joining perennial starters Bryant and McGrady.

Image

Moving to the Rookie-Sophomore Game, the Rookie Stars have a strong starting lineup with the exception of Lakers' bigman Andrew Bynum. It would have been nice to see a Bogut-Frye combo at the C-PF spots, but I guess the coach's voting forms had both players listed as PF's.

Image

The Sophomore Stars have a solid, if not unspectacular side that is led by the ever-exciting Chris Duhon and with Nenad Krstic inside. Should be fun (note the sarcasm). At least JR Smith is starting at SG, that's something I guess.

Speaking about the Sophomore Stars, I have good knowledge that the Portland Trailblazers' 2nd year starting PG Sebastian Telfair will be invited to play for them at All-Star Weekend. Rumours are still swirling on who will appear at the always popular Slam Dunk Contest, but one player that seems to be a shoe-in is Portland's rising star, swingman Travis Outlaw, who could have a few tricks up his sleeves. Perhaps something that involves touching the top of the backboard. Who knows, but if you want to track the latest news prior to and during the All-Star Weekend in Houston, make sure to check in with the NLSC Insider regularly.

Hey guys, I thought a few of you might enjoy reading a real life chat transcript from nba.com, featuring Blazers' youngster Travis Outlaw....follow the link to check it out....

http://www.nba.com/blazers/chat/travis_ ... 11006.html

I'm sure a few of you had already read it, but for those who hadn't and enjoy in-depth analysis, you won't get it off Mr. Outlaw

hmm....maybe I should deal the kid....I usually like having 'smarter guys' with more basketball IQ on my rosters....ahh well, he can stick for now....he can maybe touch the top of the backboard after all

Tue Jan 17, 2006 11:58 pm

Outlaw to the Dunk Contest :headbang:

Yes, i read that transcript, I'm embarrassed. But don't trade him :x I'll pay for his education

Wed Jan 18, 2006 12:16 am

Why does Yao always do worse in real life than in NBA Live. But even if he does do worse, he still gets to start.

Wed Jan 18, 2006 2:00 am

Nice to see Bosh and Joe Johnson in the East :)

Wed Jan 18, 2006 2:41 am

haha nice stuff man. good lineups.

Wed Jan 18, 2006 3:08 am

I hope Weaver doesn't wet his pants with the prospect of Pape coming to town

I was only joking, had you scared  and I might take that offer up on his education....a new spin-off from X's Dynasty is 'Educating Travis Outlaw'

can't answer it in anyway that will satisfy your disappointment :(

Thierry. wrote:Nice to see Bosh and Joe Johnson in the East :)

that it is....can't argue with the JJ selection as Hawks are 5th overall in the East thanks to his superb play....

Cyril Takayama wrote:haha nice stuff man. good lineups.

I ain't trading him....but you couldn't argue with me if I did after reading that article  glad someone liked and actually noticed 'The Glide' making a spot appearance

Sit wrote:... I'm shocked at Andrew Bynum's inclusion... (N)

it's not surpising to me....there are no other rookie centres in the draft that I know of....unfortunately Mr. Bogut and Mr. Frye are listed as PF's

Wed Jan 18, 2006 10:02 am

Then you should edit them back to C! (Y)

Just like in real life... I think!

Wed Jan 18, 2006 10:06 am

Yea, do some dbf editing. LMAO at Bynum's stats. That's almost realistic.

Wed Jan 18, 2006 10:53 am

Portland SF R Artest + PF P Garrity + C/PF S Pollard
Orlando C T Ratliff + PG A Johnson + SF S Monya
Indiana PG S Francis + SF R Patterson

What you think of that trade?

Wed Jan 18, 2006 12:14 pm

lol, do u think Orlando would even review that trade?

Wed Jan 18, 2006 12:22 pm

probably not but its a posibility lol
The scenario could be that the Magic dont have any other choice and francis is a true team cancer!

Wed Jan 18, 2006 2:53 pm

I'd be surprised if the salaries matched in that trade offer...

Wed Jan 18, 2006 4:54 pm

Sit wrote:Then you should edit them back to C! (Y)

nah, I'll avoid dbf editing where I can and I wouldn't do it just to have better looking Rookie Teams at ASW....

at present, for their teams, both Frye and Bogut are PF's....will check and clean up positions on rosters at start of next season in stances such as Magloire not re-signing with Bucks....Bogut would then become starting C....

The Black Death wrote:Yea, do some dbf editing. LMAO at Bynum's stats. That's almost realistic.

yep, Bynum's numbers are just about right on

Sit wrote:Portland SF R Artest + PF P Garrity + C/PF S Pollard

What you think of that trade?

nah, wouldn't do that....1st of all the salaries don't match, nor are they close....2nd, I don't want Artest or any charity from real life dramas....3rd, it's unfair for the Magic as it favours the other teams....

Anthony15 wrote:lol, do u think Orlando would even review that trade?

nope, not a chance....especially taking on the big contract of Ratliff....maybe if it was a cap-cutting exercise, then yes....but they wouldn't....

Sit wrote:probably not but its a posibility lol

if deal included Przybilla, then it would be more likely, as he would be a great complement to Dwight Howard....in addition, Magic would have to get cap-cutting benefits....anything's possible in right circumstances....

jugs wrote:I'd be surprised if the salaries matched in that trade offer...

they don't....Magic would have to be about $7mill under the cap to get that deal to go through....

thanks for the comments & discussions guys
