I'm actually planning a Live 08 Hornets dynasty...

Anyway, this actually doesn't look bad. The pics are surprisingly decent, and and the presentation reminds me of trigger42's 2K7 dynasties. Hopefully you keep this up and don't make any more ridiculous trades for a while. This could be something great.

@ Lamrock- thanks, I actually kinda copied KM's wizards dynasty with the the main format minus the recaps for each game, so I need to give him credit. Also I think I'm done with trades for now...

Oakland, CA. (AP Press) -- In Lebron James' only trip to the Bay Area he put on a show- he just didn't get the support he needed on defense. The Warriors torched the Cavs for 110 points. James had 35 points on an array of jumpers and dunks. However, the Warriors were able to more or less limit the rest of his less talented teammates. Donyell Marshall chipped in 16 points and Larry Hughes had 14.

Meanwhile the Warriors were led by their spectacular rookie, Marco Belinelli, who scored 32 points in just 22 minutes. Belinelli shot an outstanding 8-9 on 3-pointers, showcasing his deep range. Golden State's other rookie Brandan Wright played well in his own right, grabbing a team high 10 rebounds.

"Man our rookies played their hearts out tonight," Baron Davis began. "When our rookies are on, we all get really excited and we feed off their energy. "

The Warriors have now won 3 in a row, following their disappointing season opener. They play next against the Dallas Mavericks in a rematch of last year's thrilling 1st round matchup.

Oakland CA. (AP Press) -- In front of a roaring crowd of 20,763, the Warriors won an exciting overtime thriller over the Dallas Mavericks. With thousands of Gold "WE BELIEVE" shirts worn by the spectators, the Warriors put on quite a show. In a sharp contrast to last year's matchup, Dirk Nowitzki burned the Warriors for an unbelievable 64 points. He shot 25-34 from the field.

The overtime period probably shouldn't have even happened, if the Warriors hadn't thrown the ball away underneath their own basket clinging to a 105-103 lead with 7 seconds to go. Andries Biedrens, trying to throw a pass into shooting guard, Gilbert Arenas had his pass intercepted by Dirk Nowitzki who turned and shot a short jumped to tie the game with 5.2 seconds to play. Baron Davis had a chance to win the game, but his layup rolled out as time expired.

The backcourt for the Warriors was the key. Arenas and Davis combined to score 73 points, allowing them to negate Nowitzki's effort. Rookie Brandan Wright scored a season high 11 points off the bench.

"What an unbelievable game," said Coach Nelson. "The Mavs really played like a team on revenge, and luckily we were able to withstand their efforts. Gilbert and Baron both played amazing, and without them we wouldn't have been able to overcome the Dirk."

Seattle, WAS. (AP Press) -- The Warriors played some of their best basketball of the season, blowing out the Sonics in Seattle. The Warriors had a 106-76 lead at the end of the third quarter, and were able to rest all of their starters for the entire final period. Although the reserves were not able to completely hold the lead, they played well enough to ensure that their would no miracle Sonic comeback.

Kevin Durant led the Sonics with 33 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard, Luke Ridnour contributed 26 points of his own, but most of his points were off layups given up against the Warriors' reserves.

The Warriors had 4 players who scored 20 or more, and another who scored 15. Stephen Jackson led the way with 27 points, while rookie Marco Belinelli added 20 of his own off the bench. Jackson shot 5-5 from the 3-point line and 10-13 overall.

"Another solid effort by the entire team," said Jackson. "This is Warrior basketball, we're playing great, and are looking to continue the streak."

Oakland, CA. (AP Press) -- The Kings had led the entire game, pushing their lead to as high as 12 points with 2 and a half minutes to go. But Baron Davis, Gilbert Arenas and the rest of the Warriors led a furious charge that rallied them to make it 96 all with 14 seconds to play and having possession. Gilbert Arenas wound the clock down until 7 seconds before he made his move, and his layup dropped in with 4.3 seconds remaining. The Kings did not call timeout and Brad Miller threw a halfcourt pass to Ron Artest. Artest dribbled down the court, faking out Harrington and his jumper appeared to go in... but on closer review his shot actually went through the net after the buzzer had sounded, sealing the victory for the Warriors.

"Oh man, I had no idea when he was going to shoot," said Harrington. "It looked like he was going to go for a three, so I jumped. I mean time was running out, and he didn't manage it well enough. I did, however, think his jumper was going in for a second, until I saw the officials make their call."

Gilbert Arenas led the Warriors with 31 points, while rookie Marco Belinelli added 18 off the bench. The Warriors managed to outscore the Kings by 10 points in the final quarter. Mike Bibby played fantastic scoring 30 points, while Artest chipped in 24 of his own.

Oakland CA. (AP Press) -- It seemed like it was going to be a tough duel for the Golden State Warriors before the game, because they were facing one of the top teams in the league, the Detroit Pistons. However, it wasn't even close, as the Warriors blew the Pistons out by 24.

The Pistons trailing by 12 entering the final period, made a small run to open up the period slicing the lead in half. However, Baron Davis, and Marco Belinelli responded by countering with their own run to push the lead to 18. Both guards had 18 points each, while Gilbert Arenas had 17, and Brandan Wright contributed 10. The Warriors subs, closed the game out by running the lead up to 24, after Belinelli's 3-pointer with 48.5 seconds left pushed the Warriors to the century mark, and gave all the fans 1 free Big Mac.

"This team is unbelievable, I don't think they could have played any better on defense. They limited us to only 76 points and just 12 in the final period. We'll bounce back," point guard Chauncey Billups stated.

We're getting into a nice groove now, 6 in a row, that's pretty good. We're not satisfied yet, we have a tough week next week, playing 5 games in 7 nights," said Coach Nelson.

Oakland, CA. (AP Press) -- For the 2nd time this week, the Warriors won on a last second drive by Gilbert Arenas, as his dunk with 2.2 seconds left gave the Warriors the narrow lead over the Clippers. Arenas was brilliant in this matchup scoring 39 points in his battle with Cutino Mobley. The Warriors almost blew the game, after being up by 4 entering the 4th quarter.

The dunk gives Arenas 2 game winners this year, a number he looks to increase as the year goes. "oh yeah, I definitely expect more of these to come in the future," said Gilbert Arenas. "On a more important note, I am very pleased with our team's recent success. This stint with the Warriors has been much more enjoyable than it was last time. I'm also looking to get another M._P. trophy this time with the Dubs, except its not going to M.I.P. (in 2003)" *winks*

Nice recaps; although the league leaders are still messed up. :P The 360 version's stats are pretty decent. Be sure to pace yourself on the updates though. So many people get excited and post like 11 games one day, then never update again.

I actually don't think that my future Hornets dynasty will be as good as this. I don't have a quality camera or TV to get pics, and I doubt it will be this in depth. The only potential savior is the superior sim engine.

@ Lamrock- thanks yea the league leaders are soooo messed up I mentioned that in one of my first posts here, as i noticed this problem with my test dynasty... Also i just looked up trigger's dynasty he actually followed Km's dynasty, like me so i think thats why you thought mine was like his. haha
Not sure if i can update this tomorrow, seeing as how there are 5 games which would take me nearly twice as long to do... well at least not that many ppl are following this.. .soo.. :(

Its not how many people are following its the quality of the people following, the people who have been replying to your dynasty are for the most part the people who post in this section of the forum the most. So keep ya head up! Good luck.

Also to everyone how can I improve tihs dynasty? I'm trying to sort of mix and match different formats that were popular like KM's dynasty with all those stats at the end and like pursuer with short recaps and boomdizzles with a story like effect.. what else should i do?

Toronto, Canada. (AP Press) -- The Warriors impressive 8 game winning streak finally ended as the Raptors just barely edged the Dubs 104-103. The Warriors will be kicking themselves after playing such a sloppy game. Even still they were nearly able to tie the game and send it into overtime. With 2 seconds left, rookie shooting guard, Marco Belinelli raced up the court, pumped faked, drew Joey Graham into the air, leaned into him and shot a 3-pointer. A classic Reggie Miller move, that surely would have been called for an and-1 if the Pacer great had performed it. But, nevertheless being a foreign rookie, Belinelli could only hopelessly watch as his shot dropped it without a whistle being blown.

"Oh man, don't even get me started. That was such bull! Belli should have gotten that call! Your telling me that Larry Johnson's shot needed a whistle and Belli's didn't?! God these Refs!" Baron Davis said afterwards.

The score was tied entering the 3rd quarter, yet the Warriors did not pull away like they usually do in the 4th. Instead they let the Raptors hang around, and threw the ball away multiple times. For the last 40 seconds it was back and forth Jose Calderon free throws (after being intentionally fouled) and Warrior layup. Calderon initially missed 2 of his 4, and let the Warriors narrow the gap slight. He went 5-6 for in his last decisive attempts, essentially putting the game out of reach.

Gilbert Arenas led the Warriors with 25 points, but only on 9-26 shooting. Davis added 21 points and 6 assists. For the Raptors, Chris Bosh, the NBA's 3rd highest scorer, was held more than 7 points below his season average netting "only" 32. 2nd year player Andrea Bargnani contributed 17 points and 8 rebounds of his own.

New York, NY. (AP Press) -- The Golden State Warriors bounced back nicely against the NBA's only winless team in the 2nd game of their 5 game road trip. The Warriors blew the game open midway through 4th turning a 7 point game into a 21 point rout with 3 minutes left. The Knick's Jamal Crawford was able to make the final outcome more respectable after the Warrior's Sarunas Jaskiveckus threw the ball away multiple times.

Gilbert Arenas was unstoppable against the Knicks in the 4th scoring over 14 points in the final quarter. He had 30 points total in the game, and could have continued his hot streak, if Don Nelson hadn't rested him in the final minutes with the game in hand. The Knicks were led by their starting backcourt; Stephon Marbury had 23 points and 6 assists, and Jamal Crawford had 24 points and 7 assists.

"You know, the guys are really down with Monday's loss, but its really important that we continue to play the way we did tonight." said Nelson. "We're off to one of our best starts ever, and I look to continue to improve on our record."

Boston, MA. (AP Press) -- Gilbert Arenas led quite the comeback against the Celtics. Arenas led a charge that saw the Warriors erase a 14 point lead just 2 minutes into the 4th quarter and turn it into a 7 point lead. After newly acquired Kevin Garnett had gotten another offensive rebound and dunked it back and drew a foul, it seemed over for the Dubs. But Arenas had back to back to back 3-pointers and scored 19 of his 39 points in the final period.

"Man... I was just feeling it today. Everything that left my hands felt like cinnamon damn!" said Arenas.

Kevin Garnett was equally impressive scoring 38 points himself, but Paul Pierce failed to make an impact adding just 13 points. Ray Allen was able to score 25 points, shooting 10-15 from the field. The Celtics are off to a slow start at just 5-6, very disappointing for a team hoping to capture its 17th championship.

Washington DC. (AP Press) -- In his return back to Washington DC, Gilbert Arenas brought the Warriors back from 19 down in the 4th quarter. Although he started off poorly, scoring just 6 points in the first 3 quarters, he torched Monta Ellis for 20 of his 26 points in the 4th. Former Warriors Monta Ellis and Matt Barnes had 22 points and 15 points respectively for the Wizards. Marco Belinelli also was a key contributer to the comeback scoring 26 in the game. He played so well that when Baron Davis went to the bench with 4 fouls early in the 4th, Coach Nelson never needed to reinsert him.

"Let me just start by saying that Baron probably shouldn't have even had to leave for foul trouble. The Refs were calling everything, and called him for 4 nonsense fouls within the first two minutes of the quarter, but Marco stepped up huge for us. I'm really proud of him," said Nelson at a press conference.

When Arenas' name was announced during the starting lineups he was met with a standing ovation, since fans knew he had not initially wanted to leave Washington D.C. However, Wizard fans were probably pretty disheartened to watch their former leader guide his new team to an impressive victory. The Warriors outscored the Wizards 50-24 in the final period.

"Aw man, we were so happy to see Gilbert again, but then he basically just defeated us by himself, that was whack man!" said local fan Andrew Davis.

Philadelphia, PA. (AP Press) -- The Warriors surely will be feeling lucky after defeating the host 76ers 125-109 in overtime. Golden State was leading 80-71 entering the final period, but 6ers slowly chipped away at the lead to tie the game with 2:32 left in regulation on a Samuel Dalembert dunk. From that point it was back and forth and eventually the Warriors found themselves trailing 97-98 with 13 seconds left after a Kyle Korver 3-pointer. Baron Davis cleared the floor for an isolation play, and dunked it home with 5.8 seconds left.

Golden State was sure it would hang out to win right there in regulation, and paid no attention to Dalembert who threw a deep pass to Andre Igualdola. The clock barely seemed like it was moving and Igualdola was able to fake out Al Harrington and jump stop 5 feet from the basket. Stephen Jackson came over to help and Igualdola leaned into him as he was shooting. Unlike in the Toronto game, when Belinelli did something similiar, the whistle was blown. However, A.I.2. was only able to convert the first freebie, and the teams went to overtime.

In the extra period, Arenas seemed to come alive. After the 76ers had taken a 109-107 lead, Arenas led the Warriors on a 18-0 to close out the game. His 27 points and 8 assists was tops on the Warriors, but shot just 1-9 from 3-pointers. Baron Davis added 24 points and 6 assists, while Marco Belinelli dropped 16 off the bench.

Igualdola led all scorers with 29 points, and also added 7 rebounds. Korver was a close 2nd, netting 28 points and collecting 6 rebounds. Andre Miller had 22 points, but had 7 turnovers and was one of the key reasons why the 6ers lost the game.

Nowitzki 42.7 PPG :P

Another solid recap. Your still on fire! Keep up the nice presentation.

A bit off topic, but I don't think I'm going to do the Hornets any more. Julian Wright isn't in the game, and the team I've built is already starting to get boring. How does Utah sound?

Lamrock: Thanks man, really appreciate it. I know Nowitzki, Bryant, and Bosh are averaging unheard amounts 4 weeks into the season, but thats not even the worse simmed statistics.. look at the assist leaders, almost all big men, and rebound averages are pretty low... You can do Utah, but only if they blow and Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams both get killed.. haha jk(just speaking from a Warrior's fan perspective), what type of team are you looking for?

Live 08's awesome. As long as you bought the next-gen version.

And the Jazz are one of my favorite teams. I was ecstatic when they avenged the Mavs' defeat. I was looking for a team like the Jazz. The Hornets are similar, and since I was trading for Odom, they would have been the same kind of team. I didn't pick them initially because they are already really good.

The sim engine is much more realistic on 360, but it is still flawed. The assist problem is there also (not as bad), but at least PPG isn't bad. Jason Terry averaging 30 and 10 is.

Anyways, don't want to go too off-topic. Can't wait for your next update. Try to turn your PG into an 8 APG monster to lead the league!

I am a Mavs fan. I have liked them since the 2001-02 campaign, and never being a Warriors fan (and the only player I liked on the team being Monta Ellis), I didn't bandwagon Golden State like the rest of you.

But I'm going with the Jazz. I like Deron better, Julian Wright is missing and I actually got a trade to work! (It is really hard to make trades in Live 08 for 360. With my Hornets, I had to make the deal beforehand)

Lamrock: aight tight dude can't wait to see what you got... but I didn't bandwagon them either trust me, Ive been with them since like 97-98.... I've seen players like Chris Porter start for them.. don't know who he is? well he got traded after his rookie season to the hornets and then got cut because he missed the flight to Charlotte and now he plays in the China Basketball Association.. haha

I hope Jazz/Warriors becomes a real NBA rivalry, because the battle between our two dynasty stories would run great parallels.

And you were asking about the Archives; an idea I took from Pursuer. In one of your first posts, make a list of all the weekly updates, then add their links using the URL tags.

Oakland, CA (AP Press) -- Although the Suns have gotten off to a relatively slow start, don't count them out just yet. They proved dominant against the league's best team tonight, defeating the Warriors in Oakland by 14. If it weren't for a last quarter rally by the Warriors, the final score might have seemed even worse. Phoenix led by 24 entering the 4th quarter. After Baron Davis' dunk with 1:03 remaining Golden state was within 8 (99-91), but unfortunately that was as close as they would get. Steve Nash would close the game out with free throws.

"Yeah man, don't y'all remember last year? We started like 1-4 and we ended up with the 2nd best record overall. Don't forget we're capable of going on long, long streaks." said Amaré Stoudamire.

Baron Davis led the Warriors with 24 points on 10-18 shooting, but only Gilbert Arenas significantly contributed as well. Arenas had 20 points, while Brandan Wright had 13. 6th man, and rookie Marco Belinelli had perphaps his worst game yet, being held scoreless for the first time in his career in 13 pitiful minutes.

Oakland, CA. (AP Press) -- In a matchup between the NBA's 2 best team's, the Warriors managed to squeak by and win the final game of November 103-100. The game was close throughout, highlighted between Gilbert Arenas' and Yao Ming's scoring duel. Each ended up with exactly 42 points, and seemed to carry their teams during the 4th quarter. Yao had 15 points in the final quarter while Arenas had 19.

"Without Gilbert, we probably wouldn't have won it," Coach Nelson began. "We couldn't stop Yao at all, its been our biggest problem all year; defending the post."

Rookie Marco Belinelli rebounded nicely from his dismal game against the Suns by scoring 16 points in just 15 minutes. He shot 4-5 from 3-pointers and 6-8 overall. Baron Davis scored 15 points, and he and Belinelli each had a team high 6 assists. Many of their assists were to Arenas who would spot up for wide open jumpers. Arenas' counterpart Tracy McGrady had a decent night scoring 21 points, but needed 23 shots to do so. Meanwhile Steve Francis AKA Stevie Franchise, had 14 points had a game high 9 dimes.

Pretty nice dynasty so far, especially considering how you are playing on a last-gen console.
