Lakers Scout A.C Green, still thinking about this guy from the Philippines, got a called from GM Kupchak. GM Kupchak asked Scout Green to fly immediately to Brooklyn, New York and check a player. But it took him 2 days to find where this kid plays. This kid, only 19 years old but stands 7 feet tall and might still grow. His name was Matthew Cava, The Future in NLSC, is a possible Top 10 pick and might even go higher if he develops before the draft come.

Let's see his profile:

Los Angeles Lakers (7-5) and Sacramento Kings (6-5) Renew Their Rivalry As They Go Against Each Other

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) Nov 26--Vlade Divac will be playing his first game for the Lakers this season. And what a better way to do it but against his former team and Lakers' most intense enemy than the Sacramento Kings. Kings opted not to re-sign Divac and the Lakers immediately offer him to be part of this new Lakers team. He will now have the oppurtunity to proved to Kings management that they made a big mistake.

“No, i had no hard feeling to the Kings. Honestly, I was happy for what was happen coz now I'm back to the team were my career all began”, Divac said in an interview.

Sacramento Kings will try to bounce back after the lost against the Houston Rockets. Lakers, on the other hand are on a 2 games winning streak and will try to match their longest winning streak. Kings are still a great offensive team as 4 of their 5 starters are averaging more than 15 points a ballgame. But they are not as deep compared to past Kings team.

“There will be no more rivalry with this 2 teams. If you took away one or few players from that, its not the same anymore. esp. when an old teammate are on the other team now. But i still love him(Vlade), he will always be a friend and brother to me, ah... maybe a father", Webber said.

Tonight's Key Matchup:
Chris Webber vs. Lamar Odom

Can Odom really play the power forward position in the west? Well this maybe a good test for him. Webber still one of the best in that position. He's a stong player at the post, good rebounder, a good passer and have a nice touch in mid-range. Odom was also an all-around player, we can do many things for the Lakers team. But he need to find a way to guard Webber to give the Lakers a great chance to win this game.

Probable Starters:

Sacramento Kings (Season Stats)
C-Brad Miller- (17.3 PPG, 9.2 RPG)
PF-Chris Webber- (19.8 PPG, 8.2 RPG)
SF-Peja Stojakovic- (19.6 PPG, 8.5 RPG)
SG-Doug Christie- (8.5 PPG, 3.8 APG)
PG-Mike Bibby- (21.1 PPG, 6.5 APG)

Los Angeles Lakers (Season Stats)
C-Chris Mihm - (10.4. PPG, 9.9 RPG)
PF-Lamar Odom- (22.4 PPG, 9.8 RPG)
SF- Caron Butler- (11.8 PPG, 4.8 RPG)
SG-Kobe Bryant- (24.1 PPG, 3.9 APG)
PG-Chucky Atkins (6.9 PPG, 2.6 APG)

Sacramento Kings @ Los Angeles Lakers

Image
Odom had a very dominating game
against the Kings with his 20-20 production.

Los Angeles Lakers continued to show great defense. Sacramento Kings shot only 5 of 20 (25%) form the field for 14 points 1st quarter points. Most of their points came from put-backs and free-throws. Lakers on the other hand scored 22 points with Odom led the team with 5 points. Divac entered the game with 3 minutes left and scored 4 points.

Kings shot a littler better in the 2nd period. But still they were again limit to less than 20 points. Lakers did a great job defensively as they hold the Kings to 31 points for the half. This Kings has the capable to score 3o points or more in a quarter. Both Bibby and Webber scored 6 points to pace the Kings while Bryant had 11 pints and 4 assists for the Lakers. Lakers biggest lead was 14 points and now enjoying a 42-31 advantage.

KEY PLAYER OF THE HALF
Image

The lead of Lakers was extended to 18 points, thanks to Divac, who started the 2nd half. Divac and Odom scored 8 points each for the Lakers in this period. The game seems to slip to Kings hand but Stojakovic found his shooting touch and scored consecutive baskets to trim Lakers lead to more manageable lead going to the last period. Lakers hold a 12 point lead, 65-53.

Lakers seem to forget how they played the first 3 quarter as they let the Kings get back in to the game. Kings took advantage of Lakers lack of defensive intensity and made lots of easy basket. They were able to tie the ballgame but wasted some golden opportunity to take the lead. Lakers then made straight baskets to make it a 4 points ballgame. But the kings already in their groove as they tied and took a 3 point lead. Lakers went for a quick two and fouled immediately. Bibby uncharacteristic split his charity. Lakers then tied the ballgame and Kings unable to take this one as they go for overtime.

OVERTIME

Lakers jumped to a 4 point lead early in the game. Webber fouled out with still 3 minutes left and Bryant was called for his 5th foul after a few seconds. Kings were able to turn things around and took a 1-point lead. Lakers made a turnover and but Bryant made a great block on Bibby. This block resulted into an uncontested dunk by Bryant. Both team traded baskets and with less than 20 seconds, Atkins was intentionally foul. It was Atkins turned to split his charity. Kings tied it with a quick jumper by Miller. The goes for a second overtime. Lamar Odom already have a 20-20 performance finished the 1st OT with 25 points and 21 rebounds.

This time the Kings scored the first basket and on the next possession, Lakers got a bad break when Odom was called for a controversial loose ball foul. The game was relatively close but when Odom was called for his 6th foul, Lakers seems lost in the game and kings heads for a 5 point lead. Bryant took over and able to tied the game. The Kings looked good when Bryant fouled out with less than a minute to go. But the Lakers found another hero. With Lakers trailing by 2 points, Atkins made a 3 point basket to give Lakers a 1-point lead, 12 seconds left. King missed their shot and fouled Atkins, 6 seconds left. Atkins, who split his free-throws in the 1st OT, splits again his free-throw. But Butler grabbed the offensive rebounds and made his 2 free-throws for the final score. Lakers win 120-116 in double overtime.

Some Screenshots from the Game

Divac scored agaisnt Webber and Miller for his first 2 points this season.
Stojakovic was on fire in the 2nd half.

This a very busy week for Lakers scouting staff. Lakers Scout Brian Shaw flew to New Zealand to check amatuer and professional basketball players in this country. Many showed great potential and the skill to go for the next level, the NBA. One of this guy was 6'1" point guard. But his another point guard who like to shoot first than to pass. Well thats was a typical point guard in NBA today. He's name is Mark Moore, match_66 in NLSC, will enter for the next NBA draft. Cleveland Cavaliers already scouted him and they said they will do anything to get this guy.

One Streak Will End As Los Angeles Lakers (8-5) Host New Orleans Hornets (6-5)

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) Nov 28--Both the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Hornets won their last 3 games. One of them will end their streak while the other will celebrate thier 4th straight victories. These 2 teams already met in New Orleans Arena were the lakers demolished the Hornets, 97-83. Davis struggle in that game due to fouled trouble. J.R Smith played maybe the best game of his young NBA career scoring 16 points. in last Hornets game against Suns, Wesley erupted with 26 points including 4 3-pointers.

“We're on a roll. I hope we can continue what we were doing and hope we can steal one in LA”, Wesley said in an interview.

Lakers, coming from a double overtime thriller against rival-Sacramento Kings, will try to extend thier streak to 4. Odom tallied a 20-20 performance in that game and also did a great job limiting Webber to 6 points. Bryant still led the team in scoring in that game but Atkins and Butler made the biggest impact in that game. Atkins sank a 3 pointer when Lakers were down by 2 points while Butler grabbed a crucial offensive rebounds and sealed the victory with his 2 free-throws.

“Lamar played one hell of a ballgame, we really dominates his match-up agianst C-Webb both on offense and defense", Bryant said.

P.J. Brown will have his hands full as he go up against Lamar Odom. Odom are playing the very well in this season. he average double figures both in scoring and rebounding. New Orleans Hornets @ Los Angeles Lakers

Image
Another huge game from Kobe Bryant,
32 points including crucial free-throws
to seal the win

Lakers jumped to an early lead in this game, thanks to their good defense. Lakers already have 4 blocks in the game, already surpassed their season average of 3 blocks a game. Both team almost evenly shot in this game. But Hornets committed too many fouls which resulted in 9 free-throws for the Lakers, they made all of these. Davis scored 6 points while Odom paced the Lakers with his 8 points. Lakers led 27-21 after 1 period.

Lakers gone cold in the 2nd quarter. They only shot 27% compared to 50% shooting of Hornets. But they were able to protect their lead coz they got their points from the free-throws. Hornets have yet to attempt their 1st free-throw. Lakers lead was trimmed to 3, 40-37 at the halftime break.

KEY PLAYER OF THE HALF
Image

Davis made his first 3 shots in the 2nd half, to grab the lead from Lakers. That 3 point deficit at the half was now a 3 point lead. Lakers continued to struggles, they shot 36% in this quarter. They also allowed the Hornets to shot 72.2% (13 of 18), mostly inside the lane. Davis scored 11 of his 21 points in this quarter. The score was 65-58. Hornets were now on the driver’s seat.

Lakers then used a tight defense to come back in this game. Hornets shots 25% on the field. But still with 2 minutes left, Lakers trailed by 3 points. Lynch made a 3-point basket to make it a 6 point lead. Bryant missed a jumper on their next possession. But they were able to steal the ball from Smith and Butler finished it with a dunk. Lakers then made a stop and Bryant scored a basket. With 33 seconds left, Hornets melt the clock and missed the shot before the shotclock. Lakers quickly called a timeout. Odom got the ball and passed it quickly to Bryant who made a lay-up with 3 defenders in his face. Hornets have 1 more chance to win it but Brown got the ball way outside his range and missed the shot. Another overtime game for the Lakers.

OVERTIME
Lakers looked good in overtime, they lead by 4 points most of the way. But the Lakers relaxed in the dying seconds. Still leading by 4 with less than minutes, Lakers only need was to manage the clock. But Atkins took a very a rush shot with lot of seconds in shotclock. Atkins then fouled Lynch, who was taking a trey. He made the trey and still had1 free-throw. He made it to tie the ballgame. Both teams then weren’t able to score as we go for another overtime.

Again, Lakers jumped to an early 6 point lead. But the Hornets still don’t want to give up, they cut the deficit to half. Atkins redeemed himself as he hit a shot from downtown. Lakers once again made a crucial mistake. After Hornets made a basket, Magloire steal the ball and made the lay-up, Lakers lead down to 2 points. But Lakers made all their free-throws and win this game.

Some Screenshots from the Game
Davis goes for a 2-handed dunk, led the team with his 34 points.
Mihm fight for an offensive rebounds, he finished with 17 rebounds to go along with his 19 points.
Magloire slammed this one against Bryant.
Butler came big in 4th quarter and in overtime.
Atkins fouled Lynch which resulted a rare 4-point play.
Atkins made another crucial trey in 2nd OT.
Hornets called for a timeout in the 2nd OT.
Bryant sank crucial free-throws to seal the win.

Another player announced that he will enter next year NBA draft. His name is Honorius Glow, HonorGlow in NLSC. This guy only stands 6'2" but have a good-leaping ability. A great rebounder for a guard and deadly from beyond the arc. Also he was a great basketball I.Q. Lakers scout Ron Harper made an appointment to Glow's agent to watch him play. He's a potential 1st rounder and might go higher if he continues to improve. Kevin Garnett saw how this guy play and express interest to have a teammate like Glow in his team.

Lakers Scout A.C. Green now realized how hard to scout players these days. Just after he came back to Los Angeles, GM Kupchak asked him to go immediately and scout this center from Argentina. His name is Leo Reyes, Seraph in NLSC, was a former member of the Argentina National team. He's already 23 years old but still move like an 18 year old kid. He's more of a defensive players and can give you double digit in rebounds every game. He also love to collect shoes and No.1 shoe endorser in his country. Orlando Magic also had an eye on this guy.

Let's see his profile:
