and Simien seems to be on his way to stardom... (Y)

Hey, you can't stop him from all of his ways  We will need him to score alot especially if others don't step up and I have to agree about Simien. He had another good game against Boston.

Kobe101 wrote:Iverson doing his thing.

Yep, he didn't have to score as much against Boston mainly because other players stepped up.

[C]#4 wrote:howard finally cooled down after a crazy start...simien is realli starting to have a major impact on your sixers club..22pts and 10 rebounds...thatz damn guud for a rookie..

[b]He is starting to get hot once again  Simien just had 18 and 7 last game too so it's like he is moving up while McCants stats are going down. I want it to be someway where I can start both of them, but I'm not too sure about messing with this lineup right now.

CLIPPERS VS. 76ERS
Wachovia Center, Philadelphia, 7:00 p.m., EST

TV, radio: Comcast SportsNet; UPN 57
Records: Clippers, 14-16; 76ers, 22-12

KEY MATCHUP: WAYNE SIMIEN VS. ELTON BRAND
Jayhawk against Blue Devil. Both players play their position well with Simien just being a rookie. Brand is a 20 and 10 guy for the Clippers and shows the type of determination under the basket like Simien. Both players considered undersized as they stand at 6'8", but they also have the heart to play against the bigger forwards. Every since Simien moved into the starting lineup, he has impressed the league with his outstanding rebounding ability and shooting touch.

INSIDE THE 76ERS
After that lonely loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, the 76ers have now won two straight and are 3-1 in the month of January. They are finally home after the 3-game road trip. Phladelphia will have 4 more back-to-back games during this month and have already had one at the beginning of the month.

INSIDE THE CLIPPERS
The Clippers are tied with inner-city rival, Los Angeles Lakers for 10th place in the Western Conference standings The Clippers hold a record of 2-2 in the month of January winning one game after every loss.

You'll do good against the Clippers. Brand might be a problem for Simien but Simien has been stepping up his game lately. Plus Iverson has the speed advantage of Shaun Livingston but he has a height on him and Iggy vs Maggette is a good matchup. Good luck man.

Iverson setting up for the shot that won the game for the Sixers

PHILADELPHIA, January 10 (Ticker) -- Allen Iverson led the Philadelphia 76ers to a clutch victory, something Donovan McNabb just missed out on delivering for The City of Brotherly Love later on Sunday. Amid cheers for McNabb's Philadelphia Eagles, Iverson scored 23 points and came up huge down the stretch as the 76ers edged the Los Angeles Clippers, 93-92. Andre Iguodala and Wayne Simien added 19 points apiece and center Erick Dampier 17 for the Sixers, who beat the Clippers at home for an ninth straight encounter. The game was tied, 86-86, before Iverson nailed a 3-pointer with 1:44 remaining. After the Clippers' Corey Maggette countered with a three-point play 17 seconds later, Iverson capped the scoring with a pair of free throws with 1:02 remaining. Clippers star forward Elton Brand received his 5th foul on the play after Iverson head-faked him into the air and drew contact.

"It was very difficult getting into foul trouble, but my teammates really stepped up," Brand said. "We had a five-point lead late in the fourth quarter. I thought that we were going to pull it off. It's difficult to see that we couldn't." The Clippers committed a shot clock violation with 37 seconds to play before Philadelphia's Andre Iguodala missed a jumper and Los Angeles called timeout with 10.9 seconds left. "If all the games are coming down to the last quarter, last minute, and last second, then obviously you want to know how to win," Iverson said. "If you know that is what is going and you can't stop it from happening, then get the win. Regardless of how it looks, I'd rather win ugly. I'll take it rather than a loss." Kerry Kittles made a contested 3-pointer that gave the Clippers a 92-91 lead, sending the Wachovia Center crowd into total shock. The Sixers called a timeout with 4.1 secs left and the entire arena knew he was getting the ball. Iguodala popped up at the top of the key and drove left to find Iverson in the corner. With 2.3 secs left, Iverson set his feet and shot the jumper from the far corner with Brand and Simmons closing in on him and it went in all net as time expired.

"My heart was pumping because after Kittles made that basket, I was thinking we could run a play without calling a timeout so they couldn’t set up their defense,” Iverson said. "I definitely didn't want the timeout, but it ended up working out." Late in the third quarter when McNabb entered the arena, the fans started chanting, "E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles!" in support of the city's NFL franchise winning the superbowl last week. "They're cheering their team on," Iverson said. "I don't know how you can feed off that, but it's good to see them (Eagles) have the support like that. If you have a franchise like the Eagles and you have the fan support the way they do, that's all you can ask for." Brand scored 19 points and grabbed 14 boards and Maggette added 17 for Los Angeles, who hold a 2-3 record during the month of January. "It's not a physical thing, it's more of a mental thing," Brand said. "Late rebounds and lack of execution at times, we're losing these tough games. We feel as though we should be 5-0 this month." Iverson once again nailed a game winning shot which has happened 4 times already throughout the season.

Iguodala finished the game with 19 points
Howard posterizing Wilcox under the goal
Elton Brand was doubled for most of the game down low
Devin Harris played great defense finishing with two steals
Dampier scored 17 points which was his highest scoring output as a Sixer

It was pretty much an even matchup between BRand and Simien and pretty entertaining as well. They went at each other for most of the game and their stats were pretty similar too. Same of the Iggy and Maggette matchup.

Thanks, Iverson always killing the opponent with the game winner

Yea he killed me from downtown, but he didn't really do that much damage down the stretch against me. Jaric shot 4-4 from downtown too, it was kinda pissing me off

Thanks for both comments, I don't know if its programmed to where all-stars make alot of game winners if the human is controlling them or what, but AI rarely misses a game winner for me and I don't think he has missed any.

SLAM 86 (Special Edition)

:::SALIM SHADY OR CHRIS PAUL:::

By: Johnny Korver

Both of these rookies have made huge impacts in their first few months as a rookie, playing on under .500 par teams, they have still been able to make a name for themselves no the court. THe toughest question is, who would you take between the two? Both players have significantly had great debuts and each of them have won a got milk? Rookie of the Month award. Here are some of the stats that may set the two apart. Let's start with Chris Paul. The Bobcats were very busy during the free agent period as they picked up Larry Hughes and Shareef Abdur-Rahim to add to the players they already had like Emeka Okafor and Gerald Wallace. Paul was selected 3rd overall by the Bobcats and through 33 games, he has averaged 16.7ppg, 6.1apg and 4.4rpg.

Salim Stoudamire on the other hand was drafted in the 2nd round with the 34th pick by the New Orleans Hornets. He has started 26 out of the 35 games played and leads all rookies in scoring with 18.9ppg. It looks like he is taking after his cousin, Damon who also broke out in the league with a tremendous rookie season. Stoudamire's team record isn't very impressive as they hold an 11-24 record, but he doesn't have the same core of guys that Paul has. The Bobcats record is 15-18, which makes things a little easier for the former Wake Forest point guard. Both players will be strong canidates for Rookie of the Year, but expect Paul to have more recognition with Stoudamire starting to come off the bench in the past 11 games.

Yea, its been acting pretty well for me except for this week. Firefox is a little slower for me than IE was. I play the Nets next then my old team the Suns. After them is the Heat, so I'm going to have a very tough schedule.
