Any hints on who might be the next acquisition?

Great pickups, hopefully Ed Reed is the next George Power

Nice to see the Bogut addition. Can't say the same about Jrue.

Nice to see Bogut on board. (Y) Replacing Billups is a tall order but hopefully Jennings is up to the task.

I'm hoping so because Billups and Yao are big losses for my side.

I thought Ed Reed played football.

Well, Ed Reed in my game was born in 1997, which means the NFL Ed Reed would have been 19 when he was born...

J.R. Reed? ;)

Phil89 wrote:I like those additions. (Y) How old is Bogut?

I believe Bogut is 34... gotta stay true to my age policy

Axel. wrote:Awesome, now Bogut gets a ring. Good signing in Jrue Holiday too. For some reason, I took a liking to him last season.

There aren't any guarantees with this game but yeah, it'd be nice to get him a ring. As for Holiday, I'm not too familiar with his game but I had a distinct reason for signing him... an article worthy one I believe :)

Clutch wrote:sad to see Chauncey and Yao officially step down  but they had awesome careers, got their rings and now it looks like the team's slowly coming together which is good (Y)

Exactly, they went out as winners and that's the best you can really hope for them. Watching Yao play the other night, the Rockets look so much better when he's on the court.

megarover wrote:Any hints on who might be the next acquisition?

I decided to keep Richter on the roster. Nobody really stood out to me on free agency as someone I needed to have, so Basil stays... for now.

Houndy wrote:Great pickups, hopefully Ed Reed is the next George Power

Or possible Crispin Erwin? Not only is Erwin a Power Forward, but I gave up a power forward (Jordan Hill) and a second round pick to get him... dejavu much?

The X wrote:Nice to see the Bogut addition. Can't say the same about Jrue.

As I mentioned, I had a distinct reason for signing Jrue, but at the same time I'm hoping he's awesome in NBA Live 10

Andrew wrote:Nice to see Bogut on board. (Y) Replacing Billups is a tall order but hopefully Jennings is up to the task.

Bogut was definitely a vanity signing. He's a great addition, but the fact that he's Australian went a long way... now him and Patty Mills are on my team.

How Jennings fills the void will be an intriguing part of the story this season I believe :)

Martti. wrote:Jennings and Bogut replacing Billups and Yao! (Y)

I guess the cool thing about playing this dynasty for so long is that I can incorporate guys from other NBA rosters I like to my side... even on the Lakers there are 1 or 2 players I like. I was a bit disappointed that I missed out on Luke Walton though... could have used his basketball IQ

Thanks Thierry; hopefully they have what it takes to keep my team a winning one :)

Oh, Bogut i believe can still play at a Superstar Level, He Still 34, still an age enough to dominate.

Prologue

Despite winning last season's title, Denver go into this season with the rare scenario of rebuilding their team while defending their title. The off-season saw the retirement of their fearless leader and Finals MVP Chauncey Billups, along with 6th man and interior enforcer Yao Ming. While last season was about Mr Big Shot, a lot of this one is going to be about his successor Brandon Jennings and how he fills his shoes. He will have the help from new recruit Jrue Holiday and mainstay Patrick Mills.

This season also will see a change of the big-man hierarchy. The Birdman has accepted a lesser role, which leads the starting centre position to be between Robin Lopez and Andrew Bogut. There's also a power forward dilemma, with both Borislav Perko and George Power more than capable to start. Let's not forget the two who will carry Denver's offense; Kevin Durant and J.R. Smith. While J.R. Smith was arguably the second best player of last season's playoffs, Durant was quiet. For the Nuggets to succeed, they need their two gun scorers to fire consistently.

All-in-all it's going to be an interesting season. Being the tenth season, there will be plenty of retrospective articles for everyone to remember the dynasty the Denver Nuggets have created.

Yes, I'm taking my love for campy Denver jerseys to another level. As a celebration of the tenth season, not one month will be retro, but the entire season will be. Apologies in advance for anyone who hates the rainbow stripe ;)

I really have no idea what my rotation is going to look like at the moment, but I thought I'd show you the depth chart as it currently stands. I'm going to have a few articles before the season kicks off, so they'll be next :)

As it has been documented previously, Jrue Holiday signed a 4 year deal with the Denver Nuggets during the off-season. However, what wasn't reported is the opportunity that Jrue has to be the last man standing and possibly be the longest tenured player in this dynasty. In the 2009-2010 draft class, Jrue Holiday was the youngest player. Jrue is still relatively young and with Chauncey Billups showing that age is no barrier, Holiday could possibly be around til year 20 or even longer in this dynasty.

So the experiment? To see if Jrue becomes the last actual NBA player to remain in the game. The odds are with him being the youngest of the last real NBA draft class, but it still remains to be seen how he will play with the Denver Nuggets. Either way, you might see Jrue's name pop up a lot from now til the end of the dynasty.

OMG, that collage is an automatic win! Don't know for what lol

How did you get the pictures for the generic players?

I hope Jrue retires in his forties, he can become the last man standing! (Y)

Loving the previews, awesome work as usual. I'll endure the rainbow jerseys, as we've said before though a shame the designs they had through most of the 90s up until the year before Melo arrived aren't available. ;)

Yes, you could call him that.

This would be a good bedroom poster. Erick Christian's gap-toothed smile looks creepy, though.

It's probably from a hard fall, brawl or accidental collision with bigger players that left him gap-toothed.

Also, bringing back those retro jerseys? Kinda reminds me of what the Jazz is doing this season with the J-Note uniforms.

He's still a skillful player, so I think he can play at a high level :)

Well, I got through almost my entire season on the first page, so it might not even be half way yet

Thanks Axel, I basically took front on shots of the generated guys in game and photoshopped them with the same colour background as the real life guys. It's been something that has been a long time in the making.

Here's hoping Jrue pans out for me (y)

megarover wrote:So many players............. I kinda miss Brown and Melo on this team

Truthfully so do I; Brown was an excellent backup for J.R. and currently Durant hasn't been as dominant as I thought he'd be... oh well, he still has time.

Houndy wrote:That collage is going to what this dynasty is known by. I LOVE IT! :headbang:

I was hoping to get atleast one original thing in that people could say "oh, that was badreligionau's idea"... if it's the collage, then I'm happy about that :)

Thanks Andrew, the Dikembe Mutombo era jerseys would be awesome but yeah, no such luck. The 80s jerseys have their kitsch charm though... even though they're one of the ugliest uniforms I've ever seen

I'll see if I can remember to call him J.R. Reed through the season... although, with two J.Rs in the team, it might get a little confusing.

Erick Christian looked like a scrub and played like one, I can assure you.

The All-Time Roster was something I was interested in keeping track of as far as history was concerned and I thought this would be a nice touch on that. I was initially going to do it at the end of the dynasty, but since this story still has legs yet, I thought it'd be nice for the 10 year mark.

Justine. wrote:Good work with the collage. I like the retro jerseys! Good luck on your next season man.

Thanks Justine; I'm planning to do retro jerseys with every team as well... if it was just the Nuggets I don't think I'd bother since I'm not that big on their retro jersey.

Thierry • wrote:Oh, just saw the collage! Superb!

Thanks Thierry, I'm hoping you get to make it to 2019 with your association so I can see something similar on yours ;)

Clutch wrote:collage & retro unis rock! (Y) dude with the missing tooth is awesome lol

It's kind of a shame I traded him after he played only one game with me... if memory serves me correctly, he was a part of the deal that got Kirilenko (and subsequently, Shaq) into my lineup.

501stJointFighterWing wrote:It's probably from a hard fall, brawl or accidental collision with bigger players that left him gap-toothed.

Well he ran into Yao in the only game he played for the Nuggets, so maybe that was it?

It's going to be retro jerseys for every team, so it'll probably be the J-Note for the Jazz this season too.

-------------------------------------------

Sorry about my lack of game updates lately. I'm currently using all my gaming time on Fallout New Vegas on my ps3 and when I get on my computer, 2k11. I've played the first two games of the season so far, so hopefully the first 5 game summary will be up relatively soon.

RE: Dynasty/Association of the Year 2010

While I'm here, thanks to everyone who voted for this and get me in the running for story of the year. I'd like to congratulate Martti for taking out the Dynasty award. Very well derserved and a testament to the quality of his story. I'd also like to make a shoutout to Sit and congratulate him on winning the award for the Association section. You're the absolute benchmark right now for the story writers in both sections and you're also very deserving of the award as well.

From what I've read it's a close race for the Story of the Year, which is fitting because the competition is excellent, so good luck to Martti, Sit, Clutch, Valor and Lamrock; may the best story win (y)
