Houston Rockets 108-85 New Jersey Nets
The battle of the giants.
The Rockets took Game 1 by a big margin. Based on how the first quarter went, one would've thought the game would've been a lot more contested. The Nets led by six at one point in the first, but the Rockets poured in nine unanswered to take the lead going into the second. The second quarter though, was a shooting massacre. The bench took over the game, Jared Jeffries scored a three-pointer to start the scoring spurt, and the Rockets were making some nifty passes for easy buckets. They looked unstoppable out there. The Rockets had a 19-point lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, the lead eventually ballooned to 28, and so the fourth quarter was basically garbage time. "It was Game 1 anxiety. We choked in the second quarter. If we had allowed less points then, we would've had a good chance to steal this game," said Nets guard Devin Harris. "There is no better way to take it to your opponent than to blow them out in Game 1," said Shane Battier. "It was a nice victory, but I'm beginning to get a little concerned over Yao's performance. 10 points and 10 rebounds is decent, but I know he can do better than that," said Rockets head coach Rick Adelman.

It's gonna take more than 10 and 10 for Yao to show he is worthy of the Finals MVP award.
Houston Rockets 109-93 New Jersey Nets
There was apparently no exterminator for this pest this game.
The first three quarters of this game were a contest. The Nets had the lead at halftime, and they were shooting over 60% for the half. The Rockets appeared to be out of it in the third quarter, they just couldn't get past the Nets' defense. However, bit by bit, they put up an 11-0 run, and using that momentum, they took care of business in the fourth quarter, playing lockdown defense and getting easy buckets. Devin Harris' 36-point game was not enough to overpower these Rockets whom are just two wins away from their second consecutive championship, and their fourth franchise championship.

Also, aren't like four of the Net's starting five playing out of position? Lopez is a C, Lee is a SG, Harris is a PG, and Nate is a grossly undersized SG. I can understand putting Lopez at PF, with that Williams monster, but really, I think Nate and Harris should switch, although Robinson would have legit size issues against a 6'7 (?) Kevin Martin.

I agree, Live is good and all, but really 2k's All-Star= Live's superstar and so forth. The amount you can do in 2k is amazing, sign extensions, make three team deals, take over a new team, and edit players in the draft, which makes it much more fun

Hehe,
Congrats for your first 2 wins. Give the Nets a chance and win 4-1.

Also, a question: Are you going to play Yao in your Association, or keep him out?

Rockets Repeat!
Houston Rockets 100-70 New Jersey Nets
I don't think anybody expected this kind of blowout.
The Nets shot 33% from the field, compared to the Rockets 46%. A total massacre, the Nets kept taking ill-advised shots that they just would never make. Nate Robinson shot 3/17 from the field. Devin Harris and Courtney Lee were the only ones doing well for their team, Lee scoring 28 points on 11/26 shooting, and Harris scored 18 points on 7/17 shooting. Meanwhile, the Rockets were running their offense very well, and not even their second unit could be stopped by the Nets starters. The Rockets could be 48 minutes away from winning the championship.

What a game for Yao!
This was a heartbreaking game for the Nets. Yao Ming had an excellent game, and Kevin Martin was able to close out the game in the fourth quarter. They were in complete control throughout the first half, but in the third quarter, the Nets made a big push, coming within three, before the Rockets scored two straight and-ones. In the fourth quarter, the Nets challenged the lead again, hitting threes, but once again, the Rockets were able to close off the game because of clutch buckets and clutch free throw shooting. The Rockets repeat, earning their 4th franchise championship with a playoffs record of 16-1, the same record as last season.
