Los Angeles Lakers @ Orlando Magic

Mobley's defense gave too much trouble
for Bryant and the Lakers.

Everyone anticipating a big start form the Los Angeles Lakers, they done it against Hawks after a lost from the Spurs. But Lakers stared the game flat, shooting just 28% while allowing the Magic to score every time they want. Also, Magic was able to stop Lakers’ No.1 player. Bryant faced double team and lot of pressure defense was held scoreless in that game. Odom carried the Lakers, scoring 8 of Lakers 12 points while Francis had an explosive start scoring 10 points.

2nd quarter turned in to defensive battler, which only good for the Magic. Both team shot less than 35% with Lakers scoring 14 while Magic had 15 points in this quarter. Bryant showed some brilliance but Odom gone cold in this quarter scoring just 2 points.

KEY PLAYER OF THE HALF
Image

Things even got worse in the 3rd period for the Lakers. Magic outscored the Lakers which continued to shot miserable in the field. The 15-point halftime lead was now a big 23 points. Lakers even faced a 28 point lead in this quarter.

Magic showed poise in this quarter as Lakers made a run to cut the deficit to 15, that was the closest the Lakers have got. Magic, notably Mobley and Turkoglu made consecutive baskets to win this game. They also held the talented Lakers a season-low 68 points. Bryant scored 15 on 7 of 22 from the field. Odom who led the team with his 22 points also shots poorly from the field, just 9 of 22.

Some Screenshots from the Game
Rookie Howard tallied another double double.
Odom goes for a dunk, led the Lakers in scoring.
Another day at the office for Francis, scoring 17 points and 6 assists.
Cato blocked Mihm, one of many great defense by Magic..
Bryant as they headed to the dugout after that ugly loss.

Los Angeles Lakers (4-3) Try to Goes Back on Winning Battle Struggling Houston Rockets (1-5)

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) Nov 13 --Los Angeles Lakers absorbed back to back setback in their road trip. After winning against the Hornets, they dropped their next 2 games against Grizzlies and Magic. The last one was an ugly one as they scored a season-low 68 points. Bryant only scored 15 on 32% shooting. Odom led in that game but also shot poorly on the field.

“It was a horrible game, the boys maybe feeling a little bit tired, playing 3 games in 4 nights. But if we want to be in contentions, we need to win games in road and in a tight schedules”, Coach Rudy T said.

Houston, on the other hand, have a very bad start in this season. After winning against defending champion on opening night, they lost 5 straight games. Thanks to McGrady’s injury he suffered against the Spurs. He will still be unavailable for this game and Nachbar will start again for him.

“With Mcgrady out, I think Yao should step-up and ask for the ball more. His teammates also need to set him up and give him the ball on right place at right time," a NBA insider said

Tonight's Key Matchup:
Chris Mihm vs. Yao Ming

In order to win this game, Yao Ming should carry the team not only in offense but as the team leader. Mihm. On the other hand, will need a great defensive game against Yao Ming. If he can limit Ming production, then they are in good position to win this game. he also need to do what the team need from him, his rebounding and inside presence.

Los Angeles Lakers @ Houston Rockets

Image
Yao grabbed Player of the Game honors
with his 17 points, 10 rebounds and
7 blocks

Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets play against each other wearing a throwback jerseys tonight in Retro-Saturday. Lakers wore their 1961-62 Away jersey while the Rokets wore their 1969-70 Home jersey.

Los Angeles Lakers started the ballgame on the wrong foot. Lakers allowed the Rockets to score 9 points in the 1st 2 ½ minutes of the game while scoring just 2 points. This forced Coach Rudy T to call an early timeout. Lakers responded very well as they able to overtake Houston and led by 3 points 19-16. Lakers sanked 3 3-pointer in that stretch. Bryant led the team scoring 14 points as they held a 4 point lead 25-21 heading to the next period.

Rockets again started the quarter with a big run. But this time, there were no Lakers run. Lakers just scored 17 in this quarter while Rockets scored 24, mostly in transitions out of Lakers turnovers. Yao ming scored only 3 points but did a great job in defense, blocking shots and doing things you won’t see in stats. Rockets now led 45-42 at halftime.

KEY PLAYER OF THE HALF
Image

Rockets and Lakers then trade baskets in this quarter. Lakers got a big blow when Mihm injured his foot. With Mihm out and Grant at center, Coach Van Gundy instructed his boys to give the ball to Yao. Yao took advantage of this mismatch. He scored few points while also making scoring opportunity when he got double team. Because of this, the Rockets up their lead to 7 in the end of the quarter.

Lakers then try to turned this game around and avoid a 3-game skid. Bryant and Odom led a run to cut the deficit to 2 early in the final period. But it seems that Yao was too much for the depleted Lakers’ line-up. Mihm try to come back in the game but have a different game due to his injury. With 1 minute left, Lakers faced a 4 point led but able to make it a 1-point game on Bryant’s 3. Lakers then try to make 1 stop. They almost than it as they forced Ward to missed a shot. But Taylor grabbed the offensive rebound for a put back. Lakers then try to tie the ballgame with 9 second. Bryant tried a desperation trey from the baseline but he missed as time expires. Lakers now lost 3 straight games and must need a way to turn their fortune around.

Some Screenshots from the Game
Coach Rudy was forced to called timeout after a bad start in the game.
Bryant took over the game after that timeout.
Butler try to catch up with Howard, called for a foul
Mihm was injured again but this time his foot.

Los Angeles Lakers (4-4) Hope to Snap Losing Skid as They Battle Los Angeles Clippers (4-4),

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) Nov 17--Los Angeles Lakers will try to find ways to go back on winning ways., hoping that the Clippers will show them how. Lakers suprised everyone when they jumped to 4-1 at the beginning of the season. But things went wrong as they lost their last 3 outings. In their last game, they are in good positions to win that game with T-Mac out. Mihm got injured again in that game and that was one of the factor they lost. Mihm will be available tonight game. Bryant bounced back from a bad game in Orlando by scoring 33 points. Odom added 22 points but got little help from the other starters.

“We just need to move on, let’s forget about those 3 losses and focus on the next game. We need to execute our offense and play good defense”, Coach Rudy T said.

The Clippers, on the other hand, were riding on a two game winning streak. Brand came big for them as he average 28 points in that 2 wins. Wilcox also gave a good lift in defense and rebounding starting at center. All starters were averaging double figures with Simmons, a replacement starter have a fine season with 18.6 a game

“Brand didn’t get the respect he deserves, he’s a wonderful player and a good leader of the team," a Coach Dunleavy Sr. said.

Tonight's Key Matchup:
Corey Magette vs. Kobe Bryant

Two explosive players going against each other. Bryant had a slight edge with his experience. Magette always like playing against Bryant, his good friend. His defense against Bryant will be a great factor that will affect the outcome of this game. While Bryant will always get his average, he needs to imvolve his teammates to have a shot to win this game.

Probable Starters:

Los Angeles Lakers (Season Stats)
C-Chris Mihm - (9.7. PPG, 9.7 RPG)
PF-Lamar Odom- (21.3 PPG, 10.6 RPG)
SF- Caron Butler- (11 PPG, 5.4 RPG)
SG-Kobe Bryant- (25.1 PPG, 2.9 APG)
PG-Chucky Atkins (7.3 PPG, 2.6 APG)

Los Angeles Clippers (Season Stats)
C-Chris Wilcox- (10 PPG, 10.3 RPG)
PF-Elton Brand- (25.9 PPG, 9.6 RPG)
SF-Bobby Simmons - (18.6 PPG, 8.4 RPG)
SG-Corey Magette - (21 PPG, 3.8 APG)
PG-Marko Jaric - (11.1 PPG, 5.5 APG)

Los Angeles Clippers @ Los Angeles Lakers

Image
Bryant scored 18 points in 3rd quarter
on 8 of 9 shooting including 2 threes.

Jaric came big time for the Clippers as he took advantage of his match-up against the smaller Atkins. He scored 9 points in this quarter and made Atkins to commit too early foul. Butler also got in early foul trouble. Odom paced the Lakers with 8 points while Bryant, missing most of his shots, try to do other things esp. with his passing. Lakers trailed 25-18.

Magette caught fire in the 2nd quarter, scoring 12 of his 18 points. Bryant, on the hand still struggle as he only scored 5 points. Odom also gone cold scoring just 2 points in this quarter. Clippers made a good job closing the period by scoring the last 7 points. Clippers now lead by 12 points as both team goes to their locker room.

KEY PLAYER OF THE HALF
Image

Lakers came from the locker room with lots intensity. Bryant then showed one of his best games or let say best quarter. Bryant scored 18 points as he single-handedly put Lakers back in the game. He went almost perfect in this quarter, making 6 of 6 in 2-pt FG and 2 of 3 in 3pt FG. He also did a fine job getting his teammates involve as he also tallied 5 assists in that quarter. Lakers tied the game at 66 a piece and grabbed the lead for good at 71-66. The quarter ends at 72-all

Lakers brought their momentum in the last period. Magette continues with his game brilliance as he tried to keep the Clippers in contentions. This period became physical as both team committed lots of hard fouls. Clippers were able to trim to Lakers lead to 3 with 30 seconds left. Clippers then try a full court defense but forget to guard Mihm and scored from an outlet pass by Odom. Clips then missed a basket and Bryant sank 2 free throws for the final score. Lakers snapped their losing skid with this 103-96 win over the Clippers.

Some Screenshots from the Game
Magette plays a big game finishing with 35 points.
Butler plays limited minutes due to foul trouble, spins for a basket.
Brand goes for a 2-handed dunk as they team control the game in the 1st half
odom was pushed by Rebraca as he goes for a dunk.

Los Angeles Lakers heard another point guard that shows interest to enter next year draft, so they ask Scout Brian Shaw to check him out. Joshua Carr, DonatelloForPres in NLSC, will be likely be pick not later than the 10th pick. Many says he's a little version of Dennis Rodman, not because of his personality (we hope so) but because of his skills and his purple/violet hair. Atlanta Hawks also have their eyes on this point guard from Kansas City.

Let's see his profile:

Some pics we get:

And here's what the scout find:

Los Angeles Lakers (5-4) Battle Pacific Division Leader Phoenix Suns (5-3)

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) Nov 19 --Los Angeles Lakers will try snatched the divison leader board as they face Pacific Division leader Phoenix Suns. They are half game behind the Suns and a win will put them back on the top of their division. After 3 straight lost, Lakers bounced back by beating another team in their division, the Los Angeles Clippers. Bryant put one of his best games in this early season highlighted by his 18 production in 3rd quarter. He also added 7 rebounds and 10 assists
.
“Bryant stepped up in the 2nd half. We were down but he carried the team and brought us back in the game. He also able to gave the ball to his open teammates. I just hope he can continue it on tonight ballgame.”, Coach Rudy T said.

The Phoenix Suns was also coming from a win against New Olreans Hornets, which also snapped their own 2 games skid. Suns used a small line-up with a frontline consists of Stoudemire, Marion and Richardson. All starters are averaging double digit, with Nash leading with his 23.4 points a game while also led the team with 7 APG.

“Steve just proving to everyone he deserves the contract he signed. Many said Nash was on the downside and will slow down by his past injury. Well I’m just happy he’s in Suns uniform.," a GM .said.

Tonight's Key Matchup:
Quentin Richardson vs. Caron Butler
All five match-ups between this two will be crucial. We just pick this match-up because if everyone remember in their last game in pre-season, it was Richardson who win the game for the Sun. Caron Butler will like to get even and will try to stop Richardson or maybe even battle him offensively. Lets just watch what will it be.
