That's weird, since the computer socring is usually guard-dominated.

Stoudemire continued to raise his level of play grabbing 19 rebounds in Game 3

MIAMI, Florida (AP) -- The Phoenix did one of the most impressive things in the 4th quarter of tonight's game. They outscored their opponent 45-30 in the final quarter which is an all-time playoff high and they were 10 points shy of equaling their first half total. The Suns showed no signs of giving up as they kept fighting and fighting after the Heat gained a double digit lead heading into the quarter. In the 4th quarter, the Suns were led by most of their starters and Jim Jackson who came off the bench to knock down 15 points. The Heat were on the verge of taking Game 3 after Damon Jones made a layup to put Miami up 83-70 at the 10:35 mark, but Phoenix just continued to fight as Johnson made a tough jumper over two defenders that cut the lead to 83-74 at the 9:47 mark. "We knew we weren't going to have an easy time tonight and we just had to battle it out," Stoudemire said.

After another minute and 30 seconds ran off the clock, Barbosa fed a cutting Marion who had an uncontested layup that closed the Heat gap to 85-80. Phoenix gain their first lead of the quarter after Jim Jackson converted on a 3-pointer ot put the Suns up 88-87 with 6:19 left to play. The Heat and Suns kept trading baskets for almost 3 minuts until damon Jones prevailed once again with a deep 3-pointer that gave the Heat a 4-point advantage and he had tied his career-high at 31 points. Jim Jackson had became the go-to-guy for the Suns after knocking down his 9th point of the quarter to put Phoenix back up 105-104 with 1:53 remaining. Jackson continued to scorch the net making a 3-pointer to put the Suns up 108-106 and gave him 15 points for the game.

After a missed jumper by Damon Jones, Stoudemire grabbed the rebound and Damon left Nash to go put presser on Amare. Stoudemire was wide open on the ot her end and he recieved the ball and laid it in to put the Suns up 110-106 with 1:20 left to play. After a couple of missed oppurtunities, the Heat had to foul Nash with 24.7 secs left. Nash made 1-out-of-2 from the line and the Heat used their final timeout. Off the inbounds, Damon Jones shot a 3-pointer over Nash that went in to cut the lead to 111-109 and the Heat fouled Johnson with 17.1 secs left. Johnson sanked both free throws and the Heat had no timeouts to use. Phoenix decided to press the Heat in the backcourt which forced them to use alot of time and they only were able to get one shot off at the buzzer that clanked off the rim.

SUNS HEAD COACH MIKE D’ANTONI

Guys had unbelievable games, all of them. You’ve got to give them credit. The crowd got into it a little bit and gave them energy. But we stepped it up. We wanted to stay focused and play hard. Obviously they are physical and we knew that’s what they would come out with."

SUNS FORWARD SHAWN MARION (22 PTS, 13 REBS):
Image
"I’m tired of talking about this. Everyone is saying we can’t run, we can’t play defense. We’re up 2-1 now in the NBA Finals, keep talking. Just leave it alone, talk about something else now. We up 2-1 now and we’re showing what we can do now. We’re going to keep going out there and keep playing hard. We have all kinds of weapons on this team now. We have five people out there that can get 30 on any night. We have people that can come off the bench and get 30. You have to respect that and value that. We have all kinds of weapons out there, so what they take away, we have other weapons out there"

HEAT HEAD COACH STAN VAN GUNDY
Image
"I am not proud of the effort we gave tonight. I thought it was alot worse than being blown out in Game 2; we played like we didn't even care in the last quarter. We didn’t not come up with the win like we should've and we couldn't rely on our defense late in the game. We shot tons of free throws, out rebounded them and shot a decent percentage from the field and the 3-point arc, but we still gave up 45 (expletive) points in the 4th quarter and that pissed me off that we couldn't finish this game out."

HEAT GUARD EDDIE JONES (17 PTS, 2 REBS, 2 ASTS):
Image
"It’s an emotional rollercoaster, the NBA, and these games are tough. But you just have to try and stay level headed. We just have to build up on our emotions from that loss and bring it in Game 4. We just have to continue to work on things that we didn’t do well tonight and get back after it next game."

HEAT GUARD DAMON JONES (34 PTS, 5/8 3P):
Image
“I thought it was much more up-tempo in the last quarter and we let it get completely out of our hands. We felt we had a good grasp of the game. Aside from the stretches that hurt us late in the game. We played very well in 3 quarters and obviously disappointed our coach, fans and ourselves in the 4th."

Nice rally to take the first game in Miami. If you win Game 3 or even if you split the remaining games in Florida, I can't see you losing from there on.

I know, that's alot of points especially for it to happen in the final quarter. Usually if I put up 40 points in a quarter, it would be like the first or 2nd, but not the 4th  Stoudemire was just taking boards from everybody and he was dominating on the offensive boards too. It will be key for me to win the next game if I want to win the trophy though.

What the Fuck happened in fourth quarter, did u turn off the A.I. or something .... 45 wow

 If I can continue to dominate at certain points of the game against the Heat, it might not even go 7 games :P

lol i see you shut down EJ a bit comapred to the 1st 2 games DJ stepped up but couldn't hold the fort down game 4 will be an interesting 1

Yeah, I was just glad to at least stop one of them. I'm looking to hold both of them under the 20-point plateau in Game 4. If I can, then I can probably get an easy win.

oh yeh great win man.. BEAT EM!!!

 Thanks, I HAVE TO BEAT THEM BECAUSE I WANT THE GRAND PRIZE :!:

Looks like it was a close game late in the 4th?

Early on it wasn't because they were up 10 or 11 points, but then players like Jim Jackson and Marion just start going off.

Nice rally to take the first game in Miami. If you win Game 3 or even if you split the remaining games in Florida, I can't see you losing from there on.

You meant Game 4  If I can get one and Miami gets one, then I'll be in real good shape heading to Phoenix with a 3-2 lead so as long as I just get another win in Miami, I won't care if I lose one.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Game 4 will be up tomorrow and once again, thanks for all the support. It's been a LONG season and I want to end it by winning the ring if I can

Yea, but Shaq hurt me pretty badly with that 23 and 15 performance. He could've went for more points though along with Wade. Wade almost had a triple double as well.

 Those two have stepped it up and they are two of the leaders on the team along with Nash. Don't forget about Joe Johnson though, his numbers have been just as good this series IMO. He had 23 in Game 2 and 20 in Game 3, so he is kind of an unsung hero in the starting lineup.

Maybe a reaction in next game?

Possibly, especially from Wade because he will take more shots than Shaq throughout the game. I'm more focused on stopping the Jones Bros. though because they have caused more damage in this series. I'm glad you like the stats too because that's something I strive hard to do and that's make things as realistic as I can.

Johnson didn't have his best game shooting wise but he came through when the team needed him

MIAMI, Florida (AP) -- Joe Johnson is the type of guy that will show emotions at times, but not very much. He is probably the most unknown starter on the Phoenix Suns, but expect him to be one of the most popular Suns' player coming out of the locker room after tonight's Game 4 in Miami. Johnson has been in the position to make most of the big shots for the Suns throughout the season, but it wasn't the same tonight. "It felt so great, it was like I was in paradise after I made that shot," Johnson said. He didn't have his bestn ight from the floor with only 2 rebounds and 2 assists to go along with 15 points, but he made baskets when it counted.

Wade had finally ended his shooting slump by making a jumper that gave him 6 points and he was now 2-11 from the field after missing 8 straight shots. Damon Jones made a jumper over Johnson that tied the game at 90-90 with 9:42 left in the 4th. The Suns were able to open up their largest lead of the quarter with a 3 by Joe Johnson that put Phoenix up 97-90 at the 2:37 mark. Steve Nash's jumper gave him 22 points for the game and also gave Phoenix a 104-94 advantage under the six minute mark. After Eddie Jones faked Richardson out from the 3-point line and drove in to shoot a short jumper, the Heat closed the gap to 109-105 with 2:20 remaining. The game was tied at 109-109 when Shaq went into the post and drew a foul, while making the shot on Stoudemire that gave Amare 5 fouls, but Shaq missed the free throw.

The Suns grabbed a defensive rebond with 32.7 secs left and they decided to play the possession with teh game tied. They set Nash up in an isolation with Wade and Nash drove to the baseline and took a fadeaway over Wade that hit the front rim and Miami grabbed the board. The Heat decided not to use a timeout either with 16.8 secs left. Wade went inside to Shaq, but Shaq passed it back out. Wade went back in, but Shaq passed it back once again and this time, Wade took a 3-pointer. Marion jumped a little too early to contest the shot and he ended up fouling Wade for 3 shots and he fouled out of the game with 2.5 seconds left in regulation. Wade made the first free throw, but went on to miss the last two and McCarty grabbed the rebound to call timeout with 1.6 secs left. The Suns went with a small lineup of Nash, Johnson, Richardson, Jackson and McCarty. Richardson quickly inbounded the ball into Johnson who shot a 3-pointer to win the game and it went in all net.

SUNS HEAD COACH MIKE D’ANTONI
Image
"This was definitely the most exciting game of the series. Johnson knocked down the big shot like he has done at least 5 times this season and this is the biggest win of the series for us because now we are in a position to where we are just one game away from accomplishing something amazing, but we have to stay focused and try to go out and win the last game in Miami.

SUNS GUARD JOE JOHNSON (15 PTS, 2 ASTS):
Image
"I'm happy that my teammates gave me the oppurtunity to make the last shot. It was a tough call against Shawn when he fouled Wade and luckily, Wade missed two free throws that put us in a position to win. I had one of those shots already in the playoffs that I've missed once before, but this one had to go down."

SUNS GUARD/FORWARD QUENTIN RICHARDSON (21 PTS, 10 REBS):
Image
"The shot was crazy by Joe. Just plain crazy. The man is clutch and he is probably the best clutch player in this series with the way he has performed this season in crunchtime situations. We knew we were looking for him in the huddle and he stepped up to the challenege and knocked the big bucket down. We are now up 3-1 and we have 3 oppurtunities of winning this series, but I would rather think of it as one more."

HEAT HEAD COACH STAN VAN GUNDY
Image
"This game was flat out a heartbreaker. When you back to Game 3 and then you look at this game, it really works against you. Instead of being down 3-2, you are now down 3-1 to a damn good team. We have our work cut out for us, but we can make this comeback and win 3 straight. We shot bad from the line, from downtown and we weren't too shabby from the field, but overall our performance sucked once again down the stretch. Dwyane missed two key free throws, but we can't put all the blame on him because we shouldn't have been in that position in the first place."

HEAT GUARD DWYANE WADE (9 PTS, 4REBS, 9ASTS):
Image
"I felt like I let the team down tonight. I had my worse game of the series and I missed two big free throws that could've possibly sealed the game for us. It was tough and hopefully we can come out in the next game and just get our heads together so we can win. Winning the next game will bring alot of momentum into this team."
