 yep, I thought I might get nailed by someone for including them....although I don't like Beach Boys as much as any of the other ones I listed....I found it as pretty good study music when I was at university....but it's alright....I'll add a few more to the list....U2, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Tool (best concert I've been to and "Sober" is superb rock song), a bit of CCR (oldies) is alright....and how could I forget Simon & Garfunkel :P

yeah, your current dynasty pace is real nice....in the shoutout I was referring to your previous dynasties....although now that I think about it, that can mostly be attributed to your ongoing computer issues that you've had the last 6 months....glad that's cleared up now....

APRIL 2007 SUMMARY

The Bobcats will take a 4-3 record in April and the No. 7 seed into the Eastern Conference playoffs. The franchise's 1st ever playoff berth was secured with a win in Miami, but was essentially won when they made a huge 4th quarter comeback at home against the Mavs a few days earlier. The No. 7 seeded Charlotte Bobcats will now suit up in their 1st ever playoff game back in the same arena that they secured their playoff berth, Miami, against Shaq, Wade and the Heat. Usually at this time of the season I am usually looking forward to what the off-season will bring, however, this season it's all about the playoffs and launching the Bobcats to an unheard of heights for such a young franchise. If the Bobcats are to advance past the Heat, then a huge series will be required from Okafor, Arenas and Guy Dumars, especially with the absense of Nene due to injury. Do the Bobcats have what it takes to hack it in the NBA's "2nd season"? Only time will tell, but the fans in Charlotte and North Carolina are getting behind their 'Cats.

NLSC PLAYER UPDATE (APRIL '07)

This is a monthly section that will highlight different NLSC Players each month. This will be the final NLSC players coverage for the 2006/07 season. Next season will feature 3 NLSC rookies who will try and establish the same kind of dominance that Seraph brought into the table from day 1, or try to earn the starting spot during the season like Mark Moore or Honor Glow. Meanwhile, the 2nd year NLSC-ers who struggled for minutes as rookies might not be so happy to ride the pine next season. This will definitely be a space to watch next season as their futures remain uncertain. With this final instalment, we cross to Texas where an undersized SG has used his superb marksmanship to break into his team's starting lineup just recently.

SG- Honor Glow, 6'2", 170lbs (21st pick in the 2006 by the Houston Rockets)

Image
Honor Glow (right) is sure to shine in Houston for the next few years

Many said that Honor Glow wouldn't cut it in the NBA because of his height (6'2") and his lack of PG skills. They said he couldn't make it as a 6'2" SG and until recently, he seemed to be proving scouts right. However, recently Honor Glow has used his tenacious defense to find more minutes in the Rockets' rotation, and his superb shooting touch that we remember from his college days have started to return. In April, Rockets' coach Jeff Van Gundy moved Honor Glow to the starting lineup as the team's SG. Van Gundy sited Glow's defensive abilities and his ability to hit open shots when Yao and T-Mac were double-teamed. Heading into the playoffs, Glow will have a tough job trying to stop veteran SG Michael Finley and hitting those open shots that coach Van Gundy was talking about. But if anyone can do it, it is Honor Glow who has been proving doubters wrong for many years now.

Honor Glow's 2006/07 Stats:
3.7ppg, 1.1rpg, 1.1apg, 0.67spg, 36.5% FG, 32.2% 3Pt, 90.2% FT

BEST GAME FOR THE MONTH

Here are the boxscores of each NLSC-ers performance that I deemed to best their best for the month. Click on the links to check out how each player fared.

Leo "Seraph" Reyes

Mark Moore
Will Sit
Russel "Micchy_boy" Santos
Makis "dweaver" Hassakis
Honor Glow
Jing "jxuusa" Xu
Silva "Melo" Biason
Cocobee

NLSC-ers AMONGST THE LEAGUE LEADERS

PG- Leo "Seraph" Reyes - 6.0apg (20th in NBA)
SG- Honor Glow - 90.2% FG (13th in NBA)

That's all for now....playoff brackets and so on will be posted lated tonight probably....the winner of this year's playoff picks (or highest NLSC-er total) will be able to demand/force a trade to a team of their choice....

Nice season X... you were that close to having a winning record for the first time... maybe next year...

Miami is going to be tough... waiting for that Dumars-Shaq matchup...

I don't have the looks and physique of the likes of Greek Stud Mr. Hassakis

as opposed to

as for the series, yep, will get to it soon....probably in 2 days time as playing tennis tomorrow....that Dumars-Shaq matchup is probably the key matchup of the series IMHO, especially now with Nene injured....I'll probably have a little series preview in 2 days time before getting into it....

yep, those 2 were great....Mark was expected to be great as the #4 pick, but Seraph really was a big surprise....I figured he'd probably start as Lakers had no one else, but never expected such a big impact....

cheers for support for playoffs....and I won't be playing every game  I'm keeping it real by sticking to the formula I set myself at the beginning of the dynasty....I can't just make up new rules as I go along to suit myself....I think if I played every game then I would win the championship....to keep it realistic, the simming continues....I can still win title, it just requires that my team is good enough to do the job....

as for being a star next season....hmmm....I suggest you try and win the picking competition so you can demand a trade to a chosen destination  if you don't win, you can always request a trade, and I'll see if I can work one if it is fair for both sides, but it might not be to a team that you want....it might be to a situation in which you can get more minutes....

guys, I'll get those playoff brackets up tomorrow as I've run out of time now....

as I've said many times, my formula is play, 4th quarter intervene, and then simmed....

because my last regular season game was simmed, it means that game 1 of the playoffs I will play, game 2 I will intervene in 4th quarter and game 3 I will sim (although I'll probably intervene in 4th quarter and let cpu play it out so I have boxscores/stats from the game and can provide some sort of recap)....if applicable game 4 will be played and a possible deciding game 5 will be intervened....if I advance to the 2nd Round after winning in 4, then my 1st game of the 2nd Round will be intervention, game 2 simmed, game 3 played, etc, etc....as long as I win my 2 human games in Round 1, I only need computer to either win the simmed game, or keep me close in game 2 or 5 to have a chance to clinch the series, although, nothing is a given, even in human games, where I will continue to try and play realistically

PLAYOFF BRACKET

Here's how the post-season shapes up with the Kings and Pistons looking to capitalise on homecourt advantage through until the NBA Finals, if they make it that is. The playoff bracket is below. There are some very interesting matchups this season. In the Western Conference look out for the battle of California as the Kings meet the Lakers in a 1 vs 8 matchup. There is also a 4 vs 5 matchup between Texas rivals, the Mavs and the Rockets, which is a series which could go either way. In the Eastern Conference, archrivals Pistons and Pacers rekindle their recent testy history in a surprising 1 vs 8 matchup. The 2 vs 7 matchup between the Heat and the young Bobcats also looks to be interesting viewing. Check out the playoff brackets shown below to see the other 1st Round matchups.

ImageImage

Please do not make predictions for playoffs just yet as tomorrow I will post this season's picking rules and prize (which you already know). I will also post links to each playoff team's roster which should provide more insight into the makeup of each team's roster and current injuries, to assist you in your predictions. I'll make my predictions for each series, and if time permits, I'll post a Charlotte-Miami series preview.

cheers

let's hope you do....Sit vs Melo in the battle of the under-used guards....you could be the X-factor that could push the team into the 2nd Round, but yep, I like the your Magic in the 1st Round....I'd probably favour Knicks in that Celts matchup....and don't underestimate the impact of Seraph on the Lakers' fortunes....and I'm thinking my matchup with Shaq and Wade will go the full 5....

oh and btw people, sorry, but I just realised it is State of Origin night tomorrow night so that means I'll be out for the night watching the game so you'll have to wait another day for the playoff rosters and previews....sorry guys :(
