Game 1 – Eastern Quarterfinals: Miami Heat vs. New York Knicks (Series at 0-0)

Wow. The Knicks could not have expected a better opening performance for this series, and the Heat could not wish for a worst start. Everything seemed to go to New York’s favor since the opening tip-off. Odom was giving Haslem incredible trouble using his all around skills and his ability to play away from the basket, while Jamal Crawford was running the team flawlessly from the point position. Shaq was trying for the Heat, finishing the contest with 30 points, but could get no help from his sidekick Dwyane Wade, who got stuck on offense and barely scored 10 point son awful percentage. Odom scored 28 , Crawford 18 with 7 assists, and Jamal Magloire brought down 16 rebounds, seemingly fearless of Shaq’s presence.

Result: The Knicks win it with an amazing 89 – 127, get homecourt and lead the series 1-0.

Game 2 – Eastern Quarterfinals: Miami Heat vs. New York Knicks( NY leads 1-0 )

Another wow for the Knicks. This time for their courage, perseverance and heart against a supremely talented opponent. The game was close up until the middle of the 4th quarter, when the Heat mounted an offensive breakthrough spearheaded by the unstoppable O’Neal and seconded by Dwayne wade. While those two took care of the scoring, Udonis Haslem was harassing Odom and managed to get him fouled out early in th e4th. Th eHeat made it 87-76 with 7 to go, but it wasn’t long until the Knicks mounted a comeback., led by Jamal Crawford and Allan Houston, with help provided by Thomas and Antonio Davis who covered Odom’s gap on defense and on offense. New York managed to get this game to OT, with some fine shooting. In overtime, it was close as ever and it was only a crucial buzzer-beating three pointer made by Houston with 40 seconds left on the clock that gave the Knicks a 3 point lead and turned the tide(see picture below).

Result: The Knicks win this game 117 – 122 in overtime and now lead the series 2-0 with the next two games at the Garden.

Hey, look at Dwight Howard's rookie year numbers... .... better than Amare's sophomore year...

Wally was coming off the bench and The Mayor was starting at 2 for the Wolves, with Spree at 3. And they still had a 66-16 season

At least KG got DPOY for getting them so high...

And look at Grant Hill's numbers in his comeback season

Hey,where have you been? There's still time to give me your round 1 predictions... although you'll get no points for the NY-MIA series since it has already started... only fair enough, I guess... hurry because I'll post the next playoff update in 20 mins or so...

I've probably got about a day and a half (max) posting left in me....but don't fear, if you are not finalised, which I doubt you will be if you wait for people's votes each round, then I will post all my predictions for subsequent rounds giving all the permutations of matchups....although, hopefully by then it will be conference finals time so there won't be too many permutations....problem solved

Miami defeats Knicks 4-0

 That might be kinda difficult since I already won the first 2... but it doesn't make any difference since you won't be getting any points from this series...

Okay, playoff time...

Game 3 – Eastern Quarterfinals : New York Knicks vs. Miami Heat (Knicks lead series 2-0)

The series moved to Madison square Garden in New York City, and of course it was a sellout. This Time around the Heat went in stronger, dominated the boards and shot the ball well leading them to a comfortable first half in which they led by double digits. The Knicks would rally in the second half, though, and with an inspiring leader found in th efface of Allan Houston, everybody in a white and blue uniform seemed to turn it up a notch or two. Houston finished with 28 points on excellent percentages, Magloire had 10 rebounds, and Crawford scored 20 and dissed 7 assists. For Miami, Shaq had his 3rd straight 30+ point game but it still was not enough for the Heat to win the game and salvage their hopes of winning this series.

Result: The Knicks take it 114 – 103 and are now 3-0 ahead of the Heat in the Eastern Quarterfinals.

Game 4 – Eastern Conference Quarterfinals : New York Knicks vs. Miami Heat ( Knicks lead series 3-0)

I do now have no doubt in my mind that this has been the most impressive performance in the New York Knicks’ history as far as a single playoff series is concerned. Especially on offense. I mean, we scored 140 points in game 4. 140!!! The incredible stat is that we averaged 126 PPG in the series. Crazy… our showing during the last week has been beyond every fan’s wildest dream and has the rest of the teams remaining really taking notice of us. As far as game 4 is concerned, it was actually pretty close up until the 4th quarter, but then the Heat just appeared to give up. Maybe they did not have the heart to make a title run, after all. Shaq put up a fine 25-17 game, but he was fighting alone all through the series. New York was led by Tim Thomas’ 34 and Odom’s 28, while Jamal Crawford had the perfect game from the point racking up 13 dimes.

Result: The Knicks take it 140 – 119 and sweep the Heat 4 – 0, and will face one of Philadelphia/Orlando in the next round. Those teams’ series is tied 2-2 as we speak. Guess that means more resting and preparation time for the Knicks.

Knicks qualify for the Eastern semi-finals, against the odds…

Here’s New York’s stat sheet after the first round of the playoffs:

As I said before , Tim Thomas is the key to the Knicks’ playoff hopes. If he plays well, you’ll be hard pressed to see them lose. Just look at his numbers…

I already did

And pay attention guys: It might look as though I cheated, but I did not. I intervened the games in the fourth, but I was always leading at the end of 3... So it's a CPU sweep, not mine. I just helped to close out the deal

Here are the results of the first round in the playoffs:

Image - Image

The West went normally, with the only ‘upset’ being 6th seeded San Antonio knocking out Phoenix. I guess playoff experience does play a part after all…

The most incredible thing happened in the East. None of the higher seeded teams made it to the second round, for the first time in NBA history. Plus Eastern major favorite Indiana lost to Washington in 7. The Knicks will now go up against the Magic, who knocked out the Sixers in 6.
