Good Defense SF who can shoot 3's?

Postby john26 on Sat Jan 24, 2009 2:25 pm

Hey, I am currently with the Sacramento Kings on my dynasty. I am using default rosters and I am desperate to trade Ron Artest for a SF who has a small contract, good 3 pt shooting and plays excellent defense like Artest. I am currently looking at Luol Deng, but he seems to be shy on shooting 3 pointers. Any ideas?

Artest is a pretty unique player in that regard. Perhaps Danny Granger?

Him too, though he's less of an all around offensive threat and he's older. If you're just looking for a good defender who can spot up for three in the short term he's definitely not a bad option.

Pdub, as andrew stated, i think he is too old for my dynasty

Andrew, danny granger is a good pick, though his current performance in NBA makes me feel like I am robbing indiana pacers in my dynasty

Fair enough, though you are giving them a talented player in return who's still got quality years ahead of him. A Dynasty is your own reality...just food for thought. I do respect your position on it though and have tried a similar tact in the past, as it certainly makes things more challenging to make the right move (or make no move at all) when the CPU doesn't consider the ramifications or the real world likelihood. :)

Get Gerald Wallace or Josh Howard

He's not really a defensive presence though.

Jason Kapono is an amazing 3 point shooter, doesn't have a big salary, and can play decent defense.

A bit wasteful to trade Artest for him though. In any case, I'm guessing john26 has made his decision by now.
