what can i say, i want realism but it's too bad. scoring is way too low as is rebounding. how hard is it to get this accurate? apparently hard.

Yeah, I just picked up the game today for ps2.
It's shit.

I'm going to probably pick up 2k9 here soon.

The 360/PS3 version's simulated stats are decent enough in my opinion, I've certainly seen worse. The PS2 version has similar issues to last year though.

Points: League leaders average in the 40's.

Rebounds: League leaders average around 7.

Assists: The total amount of assists in a game seems about right but they aren't distributed correctly. For example. New Orleans, starting five puts down 20 assists. Instead of having Chris Paul put up 10 of them or so, each of the players puts up around four.

Indeed, the PS2 version's sim engine is way off. Steals and blocks are also atrocious, with the league leaders usually averaging less than one per game. The stats on the 360/PS3 version tend to be a bit better, still room for improvement but nothing like the ghastly stats on the PS2 version.

2K9 is no better. Rebounds are low, points tend to be ok but there are some strange 50+ point performances from guys who shouldn't have 50.

I created a 7'10" center with all 99's on offense to test. In CPU vs CPU games, played for a whole 29 game season, three seasons in a row he averaged over 30 PPG and about 13 RBG.

In a simmed season he averaged 11 PPG and 7 RPG.

After that simmed season I played out their playoff games CPU vs CPU. There he scored 30+ and had 13+ RPG.

It almost makes you long for a DSTATS-like system, if not for their unsuitability after a few seasons of play.

BIG ISSUE also with dynasty mode

when you sim, for example 2 seasons, players who were rookies in season 1 are named to the all rookie team in sesaon 3 or 4.. also stats for players are realistics for season 1 but after season 1 stats are somewhat strange: for example lebron james is averaging 27 - 7 - 6 and one season after he's like 20 - 3 - 2 , same thing happens for other players...

resigning of free agents sucks big time too..

dynasty mode is awful

Fair enough, definitely something to bring to EA's attention.
