NBA Live 09 DNA Rosters Updated

Following a tip from rfc redheat over at OS I checked out the NBA Live 09 DNA Roster update today. And sure enough, EA has released a new DNA 365 update with updated rosters.

Shaq is in Cleveland, T-Mac is wearing #3, and Blake Griffin...is in the game?!

Rookies do make appearances on their respective teams but they all have a generic head and body. Going into edit player lets you choose between 9 heads for the rookies but doesnt let you use the CAP sliders on them to make them accurate.

The next question is.....why? NBA Live games have never updated past the draft, what is going on here? It could be one of two things going on here. One idea is EA is living up to the DNA 365 name and actually updating it 365 days a year...though not likely since this update wasn't around when I was releasing BiggD's roster updates.

The second and more probable option is that this is a Live 10 DNA update, and Live 09 is just accessing it.

Either way, if you live in an area like me where all the stores understand the concept of a release date, pop in Live 09 for the next 2 days to hold you over till your NBA 2010 game of choice.

just checked thats really weird... maybe its going to get nba 10's updates too. Maybe 09 will update all the time now even when 11 comes out next year

It could be the only one of its kind here in the newly dawning NBA Live 10 era, but worth grabbing while we can. Thanks for the heads up.

I thought I recalled reading a long time ago that they would be updating DNA for Live 09 throughout the upcoming season.

As far as I know the updates were supposed to finish with the 2008/2009 season. Since there's been a couple of updates since then, it's either an error or we're getting a few bonus updates.

Or EA had finally done it right and will make updates that are backwards compatible!

Possibly, but I'm guessing there won't be too many more of them.

we dont really need more than just this one, it is really easy to keep a roster update going after rookies are added (as long as there are no rating changes)

this also means online play rosters are updated

if it keeps going, I wonder if it will get more Rewind games.
