Any issues running this on Windows 7?

Postby Dee4Three on Tue Jun 06, 2017 6:46 am

Hi all,

Will I run into any issues running this on Windows 7?

Also, would NBA Live 06 and NBA Live 07 run on Windows 7?

Thanks,

Running fine on Windows 7 64 bit for me, too. Only issue is that the process for the executable file doesn't terminate properly upon quitting the game, so you either have to close it manually using the Task Manager, or run this batch file that I created after exiting. Otherwise, if you try to run the game again without restarting, it won't load because there's still a process active in the background.

Same deal for NBA Live 2005-07, but it's the same fix, and I've created batch files for them as well that are also available in the Downloads section.

Can't get it to work properly in anything other than Windows XP. I can play exhibition games but it always crashes just before returning to the main menu. Franchise and tournament modes are a no go because it crashes before I am able to save my progress. Have tried all the standard fixes, compatibility mode etc. Finally gave up trying and built a dual boot computer.

That's strange. Windows 7 64 bit works fine for me, though as I noted before, the task usually doesn't end properly upon exiting the game. I'm not using any compatibility settings, either.

I have no issues running it on Windows 7 64 bit. No crashes.

Did you check your disc for scratches? Any issues with any other games?

I think its not the live 08 fault.

if you have dual boot - i do not have right now, but in my past experience before i encountered application (other games) conflict issues, maybe caused by registry conflicts.

if you are running on a windows 7 alone, then i guess it was caused by a virus, last month i experienced on my live 08 every time i moved my mouse during the loading, live 08 crashes. I solved this by running the disk cleanup first (especially the removal of temporary files), then antivirus full scan. This may help you or maybe not, its really up to you if you want to try.

Nope, clean install of windows 7 32bit. As I stated, exhibition games played well until the game was over and it goes back to the main menu. That's when it kept crashing. I now have a dual boot system, I use windows 7 for my regular work and XP to play my games. Tried reinstalling the game, using XP compatibility mode, disable desktop composition etc. Nothing got the game to work properly on 7 32bit, maybe it only works with 64bit. Either way, I'm all set now.
