Talk about NBA Live 08 here.

Distribution of original files is against the rules as it facilitates piracy, but if you are missing the file you can copy it from your NBA Live 08 disc; that's the only solution permitted here.

Thanks for the latest release Ayiep, will check it out ASAP and let you know if I run into any issues.

Thanks! I do have it there, but is it gonna mess up ingame if I have the file in another place too? And when I extracts portraits, do I extact straight to sgsm to within the viv file?

sir if I'm not mistaken.. you don't have appearance editing? i tried your tool. and yes this is so easy to work with.. but when i created a player (F2), particularly at the body and faces section, there is no section for body color only faces... i noticed it when i played the player that i created... their faces and bodys are not matching..

It shouldn't cause any issues.
Anything within the sgsm folder will be loaded instead of what's in the .viv file, the same as with all other art files.

So should I remove the same file in the sgsm, or just leave it? Can u PM me a version of the portraits file with ALL portraits in it?

Have you thought of changing the metric system from CM to Feet & Inches?

It is not in cm.It is already in inches.I don't see anything wrong with it.

Mines shows up the same way
it says height and weight but it looks like this
Height(inc)76 I cant really tell how tall the player is
Weight(lbs)215

12 inches = 1 feet.. .'. 72 inches = 6 feet. start from there...

Quick question, where exactly is the function for changing the All-Star teams?

Any loose portrait files in .big format that are in your sgsm folder can be left alone, they should be loaded instead.

Its on the drop down arrow like any other team ;draft pool, retired, etc
but for some reason it does not move any new players to the rookies or allstar teams such as team chuck or team shaq??
it only removes players

Yea well thats no good it would be more user friendly if it said num of feet and inches
at times im too tired to add numbers just for the height

what? there no difficult on that? I believed you do have some backgrounds in math.. unless if your're still an elementary level.. start at 72 coz this is equivalent to 6 feet. then just add 1 inches in every succeeding value of the height of a player.
example. 73 means 6'1'', 74 is 6'2'' and so on...

Yes, I know how to
select the All-Star teams. I was referring to the function to add players to the All-Star team that was added in v2.3.

Me either, so I was interested to know whether it was a separate function for the All-Star and Rookie Challenge teams, as that would be ideal.
The ability to edit coaches would also be handy, that's something I've somehow forgotten to mention thus far.
Mon Aug 06, 2012 4:13 pm
sir why is it if we create a player in this tool(F2),then even I didn't assign a ratings and when i press done, and play that created player he has already his default ratings? is this ratings are randomly distributed after pressing done? or this rating is also base from the height or position of the player? i mean if a point guard player is created, will the default ratings are also appropriate for point guards ability? like assist and dribble are high..and so on..
Mon Aug 06, 2012 4:41 pm
When a player is created the ratings go to the default rating no matter what the position, height and weight is.

Coach editing will added on next update. And about All Stars function is on Players tab under player's info but little mistake on drop down West All Stars should be East All Stars and East All Stars should be West All Stars, I'll fixed on next update swap both of them

Sounds good. Thanks for pointing that out, seems I completely overlooked that function in the bottom corner there.

Being able to add players to the Rookie and Sophomore teams will definitely help out too. If players could be added to teams with the FIBA teamcodes too then that'd also be useful, though I guess we can always use import/export for that.
Tue Aug 07, 2012 1:06 am
Maybe add Barclays Center to the drop down list of arena names
Tue Aug 07, 2012 7:42 am
That's what the stadium renaming fields are for.
