New Celtics GM Scott announces four trades
The new Celtics general manager, Jordan Scott, announced that he has made four trades since his hiring. The four trades are as follows:
Celtics trade: Rajon Rondo, Jordan Crawford, 2015 first round pick
76ers trade: Michael Carter-Williams, Nerlens Noel
The Celtics get the 76ers two first round picks who will almost certainly be franchise cornerstones, and deal Rondo who didn't want to stay in Boston and lose. However he goes to another bad situation in Philly where he has to deal with Evan Turner and Thaddeus Young being his other two options.
Celtics trade: Jeff Green
Raptors trade: Greivis Vasquez, John Salmons
Boston didn't want to have any players with multi year deals besides its rookies, so they deal Green who had 2 expensive years left for Vasquez, who will be a great backup to Carter-Williams, and Salmons, who will provide a veteran presence off the bench.
Celtics trade: Courtney Lee
Thunder trade: Thabo Sefolosha, 2014 first round pick
The C's decide to get another first round pick this year, and deal Lee for an expiring contract in Sefolosha. Thabo will provide good depth and a defensive presence off the bench.
Celtics trade: Gerald Wallace, Brandon Bass, Keith Bogans
Jazz trade: Richard Jefferson, Brandon Rush, Andris Biedrins
Boston got 3 expiring deals from Utah here. Jefferson is set to start at SF for Boston, Rush will provide guard depth, and Biedrins will mentor young centers Noel, Olynyk, and Faverani. Boston also gets rid of Wallace's and Bass' horrible contracts and get more cap flexibility for the future.
