Celtics officially hire Linas Kleiza as new GM

Linas Kleiza is retiring, leaving Fenerbahçe Ülker in Instabul to take over the basketball operations
for the Boston Celtics. From the moment he retired from his career as a basketball player last month,
Wycliffe Grousbeck decided make some significant changes by firing Danny Ainge from
the team and hiring Linas Kleiza, the former NBA player as the Celtics new general manager.

Linas Kleiza was drafted 27th overall in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. Spent four
seasons with the Denver Nuggets and three with the Toronto Raptors. Kleiza later played for Fenerbahçe
Ülker in Turkey before retiring. He averaged 8.7 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in his NBA career.

Celtics suggested the contract could be worth up to five years and as much as $15 million US.

Keith Bogans gets waived from the team for fighting in practice

Keith Bogans was cut off the roster for starting a fight with the rookie Kelly Olynyk during practice
before the Toronto Raptors game, October 30th. It happened while Olynyk was practicing his post
moves with Jared Sullinger. Bogans said he came to Olynyk and asked something from him. When
the center refused, Keith punched him in the stomach. " He [Olynyk] didn't do rookie duties, so i
decided to give him a lesson. " - Bogans said.

Boston Celtics new general manager - Lithuanian Linas Kleiza decided to make a move on the roster
to prevent team chemistry going down. Kleiza waived Bogans off the teams roster. This was the
first official move by the Celtics new GM.

Kelly Olynyk didn't suffer any major injuries.

Rondo leads the team to a season opener win

The Boston Celtics won a close game in Toronto against the Raptors. The game was very close, and
the results were decided in the last seconds of the game. The game was tied when Jeff Green hit
a game winning three-pointer with 11.8 seconds on the clock. The Toronto Raptors managed to
inbound the ball to Kyle Lowry, who passed it to John Salmons for a wide open three, but Salmons
missed it. Brandon Bass grabbed the rebound and the game was over.

Rondo performed nicely in his first game after the injury he suffered. Rondo torn his ACL in January
27, 2013 in a game against the Miami Heat and missed the remainder of the season. Rajon Rondo
scored 24 points (7-12 FG), grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 14 assists along with one steal and
a block. It was a brilliant performance despite the fact that Rondo turned the ball over 4 times.

All three rookies got playing time in the season opener against the Raptors. Kelly Olynyk, Vitor
Faverani and Phil Pressey. The Canadian 7-footer Kelly Olynyk scored 8 points and grabbed
team-high 11 rebounds along with 2 blocks. Olynyk was drafted 13th overall by the Dallas
Mavericks and traded to the Boston Celtics for Lucas Nogueira and two future second round
picks. Vitor Faverani, the Brazilian center signing of the Boston Celtics made it to the starting
lineup. He scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Phil Pressey played 4 minutes, recorded an
assist and 2 turnovers.

Bradley defense simply too much for visitors

The Milwaukee Bucks visited the Boston Celtics in TD Garden hoping for a hard thought game because
of the fact that the teams are both bottom caliber teams. That wasn't the case with this game. The
Milwaukee Bucks got destroyed by the Boston Celtics in their home court. Bucks got hammered by 28 points,
and didn't even stand a chance.

Bradley played the hero part in this game. His defense was amazing to watch. He limited Bucks
leading scorer in O.J. Mayo to 12 points, in what was a 5 out of 20 shooting night for Bucks star. Bradley
recorded 5 blocks, 3 steals, and in addition to that he scored 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Bradley
made a huge impact on the teams willingness to defend, in fact, everybody on the team had a block,
except Pressey.

Rondo added his talent to the victory as well as anybody on the team. Rondo Scored 11 points, picked up
7 rebounds and dished out 13 assists, along with 3 steals. Rondo also made a wide open three-pointer at
the shot clock buzzer, which isn't usual for the player.

Forwards Brandon Bass and Jeff Green led the team in points, both scoring 18. Both Bass and Green snatched
6 rebounds.

Celtics fall to Piston in Detroit

Detroit Pistons win at home against the Boston Celtics in what wasn't really a hard game for Detroit.
Detroit Pistons showcased great defense, forced a lot of turnovers which caused easy fast break points
for the Detroit Pistons. Detroit starting forwards in J-Smoove and Monroe showcased a great game.
Monroe scored 19 and picked up 9 rebounds, while Smith scored 17 in addition to his 11 rebounds.

Brandon Jennings left the game in the end of the third quarter because of a what looked like a wrist
injury. It turned out that Jennings suffered a dislocated finger injury and will be out for 1-2 weeks.
Jennings scored 17 points and collected 4 assist before leaving the game.

Rajon Rondo was the main man for the Celtics. He scored 10 points and dished out 14 assist, also
grabbed 4 rebounds and managed to pick up 2 steals. Detroit Pistons defense affected the passing
of Rondo, which was the reason Rondo had 4 turnovers in the ballgame.

Brandon Bass also joined Rondo as the second Celtic to perform a double-double. Bass scored 14 and
grabbed 10 rebounds.

Avery Bradley showcased his defense as usual with 4 steals. Bradley scored 13 points, had 5 assists and
5 rebounds.
