Nope sorry - that's why this is funny. But let me just say, I have seen the right name floating around in this thread.

Rumors Link Gilbert Arenas To Detroit Pistons
18 August 2012

Sources have indicated that the Detroit Pistons have their sights set on veteran NBA guard Gilbert Arenas following the surprise signing of Greg Oden.

30 year old Arenas made a comeback last season with the Memphis Grizzlies after off-court troubles and injury problems. The three-time All-Star averaged a modest 4.2 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 1.1 apg in 17 games played. Those averages were well off his career averages of 20.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 5.3 apg. Arenas was happy with the chance to play in the NBA but the Grizzlies unfortunately did not offer him a new contract and parted ways this Summer.

The Pistons would be Arenas' sixth NBA team if he signs with them. The Pistons do have stiff competition in competing for his signature as it is believed that Arenas and his agent have been exploring opportunities to be signed by a title contender including the LA Lakers, Miami Heat, and San Antonio Spurs. The Pistons are considered to be a dark horse in signing the player formerly known as 'Agent Zero' because they can offer him a bigger role and longer term contract.

Arenas is not the only player being put in the same sentences as the Pistons. Michael Redd, Earl Boykins, Josh Childress, and Adam Morrison have all been named in the past week as possible signings for the franchise.

Love the signing of Oden. Gil would be a great addition too since he's so overrated in this game, but he may be expensive.

Glad you approve the addition of Oden. Was preparing for some backlash over signing a 45 year old who has no knees.

L-Train - would you like to join in the fun?

Pistons signed 2 other players - 1 point for each correct player named. To give you some help, I signed two guards/forwards.

Oh about that, the Pistons apparently signed a new assistant GM. Talk about being realistic.

LMAO - I didn't know that!!! Can you give us a link? (I'm too lazy)

Funny how some parts of my stories have mirrored real life. My old Lakers yielded Kwame and Artest to the Lakers, of course both happened IRL later down the track. If you count Boozer to Lakers as a decent PF to Lakers and say that correlates to Pau to Lakers then I will take that haha.

And in ALIB, Joe Johnson + D William - Check
Andrew Bogut + David Lee - Check

Yeah... I can't remember anymore.. maybe there aren't as many as I thought. I will give a point for anyone who can think of any others haha (Y)

I think there is a Lakers lineup of Bynum, Pau and Kobe in ALIB II

That was on the default rosters. Pau was on Lakers by time 2k9 came out. He went to Lakers during 07-08 season. 2k9 was for 08-09 season.

You also called Durant becoming the back-to-back(-to-back?) scoring champ.

Does the Durant-Westbrook feud count? They didn't exactly sleep with the other person's gf IRL and Westbrook didn't get traded, but a feud is a feud :P

Was it similar to real life? I might let a third party be a judge here. I can't remember the basis of my story and what happened irl between the two. :) Maybe if you can explain?

IRL - two or more altercations/heated arguments between durant and westbrook with westbrook continuing to be a selfish hog
ALIB - (as far as I remember) Durant was a dick to Westbrook, they have a few fights in practice n butt heads in games then u traded Westbrook away for the draft pick that got you Ty

Morrison, because you still love how he was waving towels during the Lakers two Championship runs. Redd, cuz his shot is valuable.

I'll go out on a limb & say Boykins, because I know you love him. The other being Josh Childress, because of the Euro connection your GM guy has & that Childress played in Greece.
