I'll say Toronto

p.s. Sit is probably the only one here, who can get to second page in his dynasty before he even reveals the team :D

Hate the Pistons and don't particularly like the Raptors (Lamrock is the only one who can make it funny enough to read about..), so I'm guessing (and hoping) it's the Magic

I'm normally not into reading the long passages, but the short articles like your previous post are nice. I don't really want to see the Raptors; they have a really nice team right now and are pretty much set for the future, aside from minor additions. The Magic would obviously be the toughest task, but the Pistons are kind of in a weird spot too, even though the do have more young pieces. I don't really know much about Knight, if he's good or not. Anyway, all three teams would be interesting.

EDIT: I just saw it's likely you'll do the Raptors. It'll be interesting to see what you do with them, and in my eyes, you don't have to do much.

Thanks! I hope that it's enjoyable...

I knew that you would like seeing me take a team to rebuild. I was soclose to Minnesota but decided that it would be too easy to win with them within the first 3 seasons.

Ugly court yes, but I like the Raptors jerseys - maybe because they have the same colors as Portland, but still.

Yeah, I disagree with Valor. They have a very respectable team now. Bargnani could average single digits in PPG and they could still make the playoffs (I have a feeling he'll average like 14 PPG this season). I like their name, jerseys, court, ect. They have a distinctiveness to themselves. I don't know what makes a franchise ugly though, other than those things.

CHAPTER 1

”Ready to come in?”
Robert Jones put the magazine down on the coffee table, “Sure.”
The personal assistant waited for him to get up before chirping, “I like your accent.”
“Why thank you,” he replied then smiled.
His agent, Dijon Smith, was waiting inside for him.
“Grab a seat Bob,” Dijon invited him and motioned to the empty seat opposite him.
He sat down in it.
“So you have been to see everyone,” Dijon stated, “What did you think?”
“I liked all of them,” Bob spoke of the teams recruiting him.
The Toronto Raptors, Detroit Pistons, and Orlando Magic had all enquired about him. The media had it wrong in regards to what he was actually offered. The only team that was asking him to take over as General Manager were the Raptors. The Magic and Pistons both only offered him a role as a consultant and advisor to their respective General Managers. Truthfully, Bob was interested in the role with the Magic. He could foresee a lot of fun with the team but he knew that it would be a while before he would really have the reins.
“I like Detroit,” he said.
“Why’s that?” Dijon asked; he was a little surprised.
“Joe Dumars seems to have a direction for the team and I think that I would have a lot more of an input with that club,” Bob replied.
Bob was impressed with what Dumars had told him about his vision for the ball-club and that he potentially had a future with the team in a larger capacity.
“So what do you think?” Bob asked his agent for advice.
“What about Toronto?”
Bob had given a little thought into Toronto. He was impressed that their reps had flown into Florida to meet him. Bob drank some water from a glass. Analysing the merits of each team was giving him a headache.
“They’re all offering about the same for you,” Dijon noted matter-of-factly, “I know that with your credentials – you could ask for more.”
Bob shot back, “But you know that that’s a long shot.”
He was right. Bob had initially sought a coaching position but no team wanted to take him on. Despite the fact that he had won four Euroleague titles as a player and then two more as a Head Coach – no team wanted to even have him as an assistant.
“It’s a bit unfair isn’t it?” Bob stated, “But I am quite confident that I am going to show them what I’ve got and become a Coach one day.”
“You will make it. And if it becomes frustrating while you’re waiting… well, just don’t forget that you should be used to being overlooked by the NBA,” Dijon joked.

* * *

“Sorry,” the voice said over the phone, “We don’t have a spot on our roster for you.”
“Ok,” Bob replied but didn’t say no more because the front office staffer for the San Antonio Spurs had hung up on him.
Bob shook his head and looked up at his coach.
“Bad luck kid.”
Bob managed to smile, “It was expected.”
He was in the prime of his career at 27 years old and having come off three consecutive Euroleague titles. He was sick and tired of hearing about how great Toni Kukoc was for the Chicago Bulls, coming off a Sixth Man of the Year award and another NBA championship.
“Coach, I should be there. I played against Kukoc for heaven’s sake,” Bob blurted out, “He’s not that much better than me. I belong in that league.”
Bob though knew why he could not get a break and make an NBA training camp roster. He was frustrated but he knew that he had considerable red flags against him. All of the NBA scouts harped on about it to him.
“He’s too slow,” some would say.
“He’s not strong enough,” other would say.
“He’s gotten old,” most said every day.
Bob signed a contract to stay with Barcelona for another four years.

* * *

“So do you want to make the call or not?”
Bob snapped out of his daydream, “What?”
Dijon repeated the question.
“Oh yeah – right,” Bob was coming back to his senses.
“If this is really what you feel is right for you then go for it,” Dijon briefed his client, “but I just think that you may want to wait a bit and see if there are any others.”
“No,” Bob was firm with his response, “I’m set. This is where I want to go and what I want to do.”
Dijon picked up the phone off the hook and smiled, “Then let’s do this.”

Their colors are not bad, the designs on the jerseys are what makes them ugly as....I prefer the old VC era ones...http://vivianonlineshop.com/images/Chea ... rs-013.jpg

Lowry's a prima donna and a (quoting Stephen A here) marginal point guard at best, Valanciunas is a project that might not pan out, and DeRozan does nothing good aside from dunking.....

At least Sit's Stealth had decent players and the city had a history of winning....

I wouldn't call them respectable...they still look like lottery-bound to me and the roster reeks of a 25 win season, but hey I could be wrong. By the franchise being ugly, I meant the management and the way this team has been constructed, coached, and managed over the years....

Anyhow, nice Chapter Sit, all signs are pointing for you to pick the Pistons, but given that it's you it could be just a smokescreen to throw us off, with a catch coming in the next write-up and you end up going to Toronto or Orlando....or is it just me over-analyzing?

Martti is correct. For many of you who don't know me, I am a long-time favorite of Navarro and Calderon. mmmm....

And Valor - don't forget that I made the Stealth a good team :P Pulling off moves to get Tyson, Kidd, Lee and Bogut. Durant was only a youngin' when I picked up 2k9

Raptors? I thought its going to be Detroit since you like to start with at least a franchise caliber player. Both Monroe and Drummond (well based on potential) can be that kind of player.

Texas Durant is better than the current Raptors roster added together.....they are all scrubs

and @dare, Monroe n Drummond are role players at best....
