Sucks to drop two straight, but that's pretty much expected on the road for you (and for my Warriors...), hope you'll at least get one at home, but it's looking more like a 0-4 sweep for you, tough luck :?

Heat One Win Away From Sweep

Image

(1) Heat @ (8) Bobcats | NBA Conference Quarterfinals Game 3

Miami once again dominated from start to finish as the Bobcats continue their win-less streak in the post-season. The game was not competitive as the Heat won the first quarter 35-21 and never looked back. Chris Bosh and LeBron James both had incredible games, while Pekovic was the only bright spot for Charlotte. The Bobcats will hope to avoid a sweep and an 0-8 all-time playoff record in game 4.

Wilson Chandler received the sixth man of the year trophy before the game. Unfortunately, he had just 9 points on 4-13 shooting in 26 minutes off the bench.

Heat 115
Bobcats 99

Heat lead series 3-0.

L. James: 38 pts, 6 asts, 5 rebs, 15-24 FG, 8-9 FT

K. Walker: 18 pts, 5 asts

Good to see this one still going. (Y) Disgruntled to have been traded from Philly seeing how well I was doing there. On the bright side though, we are giving the Lakers more than they can handle so that's pretty awesome.

Heat have had an easy time going up 3-0. Here's hoping Bargs lights 'em up next game to avoid a sweep.

Yeah, your player is pretty good but being traded to Utah was a bad break. Da'Vonte is a good fit but the jazz randomly stockpiled starting caliber point guards.

Game 4 soon. Will Charlotte get swept again or grab their first playoff win ever?

Shame that it hasn't been a better series for you. But getting to the playoffs is a big accomplishment considering the team you started with.

On another note, congrats on getting the 6th man award - even Chandler edged me out for it. Glad to see my guy is at least getting some recognition :)

Losing the first 3 games to lull them into a false sense of security, before back-end sweeping them, thus Inflicting maximum humiliation on LeBron.

Risky strategy, but worth it if you pull it off. :cheeky:

Seriously though, I hope you win a game or two to give you a positive to take into next season. (Y)

Heat Blow Out Bobcats To Complete Sweep

Image

Much like their first, the Bobcats' second playoff appearance ended without a win. Charlotte was embarrassed on their home court as it was an absolute drubbing from start to finish. The big three alone outscored the entire Bobcats team as Pekovic and Bargnani continued to be the only players able to get going.

Miami wlll advance to the conference semis, where they will face Andre Iguodala, Josh Smith, Al Horford, Joe Johnson and the Atlanta Hawks, who are coming off a sweep of their own against Orlando. Charlotte meanwhile faces a challenging off-season, in which they'll have to find a way to improve from the middle of the pack.

Bobcats Playoff Averages:

Andrea Bargnani: 25 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 2.5 TOPG, .475% FG, .286% 3pt, 19.9 PER
Nikola Pekovic: 12.3 PPG, 7 RPG, .800% FG, .895% FT, 21.7 MPG, .864% TS
Kemba Walker: 10.7 PPG, 6.3 APG, .389% FG
Wilson Chandler: 8 PPG, 5.7 RPG, .316% FG
Damian Lillard: 6.8 PPG, 3.5 APG, 2.3 RPG, 17 MPG
Gerald Henderson: 6.8 PPG, 2.5 APG, 2 RPG, .455% FG
Luol Deng: 6 PPG, 4.2 RPG, .300% FG, 0.7 PER
Andre Miller: 4.7 PPG, 2.5 APG, 2.3 RPG, .545% FG

Leo Lai Wins 2013-14 Most Improved Player Award

Image Golden State Warriors guard was named the NBA's most improved player for the 2014-15 season. Lai largely rode the pine as a rookie out of Hong Kong, but earned a starting spot this season. Lai seized the opportunity and tripled his scoring average, and helped the Warriors make the playoffs for the first time in seven seasons.

2012-13: 6.6 PPG, .497% FG
2013-14: 19.8 PPG, 2.9 APG, 2.8 RPG, .450% FG

Round 1 NLSC'er Averages:

F Andrew Watson (Rockets) | 2nd year
7 games, 20.1 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 5.7 APG, .522% TS, 23.9 PER

Watson has upped his usage and helped weather the storm at home to get the Rockets past the resurgent Mavs to the second round. Facing the Jazz provides Watson and the Rockets a great opportunity to get to the conference finals.

F Da'Vonte Hughes (Jazz) | Rookie
7 games, 15 PPG, 7 RPG, .543% TS, 15.5 PER

After a slow start to the season, Hughes has quickly become a key cog in the Utah Jazz. He led the team in scoring in the playoffs so far, and saved his best performance for the game 7 upset in L.A.

G Axel Gomez (Jazz) | 2nd year
7 games, 6.6 PPG, 2 RPG, 1.9 APG, 11.9 MPG, 21.4 PER, .497% TS

Now on his second team, Gomez is still struggling to get decent minutes. He provides a spark off the bench but is regulated to just a quarter of the game. Expect he and/or Darren Collison to be moved this summer.

G Leo Lai (Warriors) | 2nd year
7 games, 16.9 PPG, 3.4 APG, 2.4 RPG

Lai's Warriors were eliminated in a heartbreaking 7 game series. It was nonetheless the team's most promising season in years, and Lai won the Most Improved Player award this season.

F Justine Crewhead (Pistons) | 2nd year
5 games, 8 PPG, 11.8 MPG

Crewhead struggled to get playing time as the team's addition of Granger has continued to hinder his development. On the bright side, the Pistons destroyed the Wizards and could be a dark horse contender.

G Julian Martin (Mavericks) | 2nd year
7 games, 12 PPG, 6.6 APG, 3 RPG, 25 MPG

The Mavs are out but their effort to push Houston to 7 games was commendable. Martin did a solid job at point as Kidd's replacement of sorts. His performance should warrant a starting role next year as well.

G Vinson Duroy & G Janis Kalnins (Magic) | 2nd year
Duroy: 4 games, 6.8 PPG, 7.8 MPG; Kalnins: 4 games: 3.8 PPG, 1.7 APG, 9.5 MPG

The Hawks got even more revenge for the Magic's 2010 beatdown of them by sweeping them as the 5 seed. They continued to share minutes backing up Jameer Nelson and the result has been erratic play.

NLSC Second Round Recaps

F Andrew Watson (HOU)
14 games, 19.8 PPG; 5.2 APG, 4.3 RPG, 23.2 PER, .559% TS

Despite a great series from The X, his Houston Rockets were upset in 7 games by the 6 seed Utah Jazz. Despite the disappointing end to the season, the year as a whole should be considered a success, as he played well and they came a game away from the conference finals.

F Da'Vonte Hughes (UTA)
14 games, 15.9 PPG, 7.2 RPG, .540% TS, 15.8 PER

Da'Vonte Hughes's rookie season continues to get better and better as he leads the Jazz to the conference finals. He'll need to play even better though if they are to stand a chance against the Thunder.

G Axel Gomez (UTA)
14 games, 6 PPG, 1.8 APG, 1.7 APG

Gomez is likely to be traded soon, but gripes about playing time aside, he will enjoy the Cinderella run and give Utah what he can in limited minutes.

F Justine Crewhead (DET):
10 games, 6.3 PPG, 1.8 RPG

The Pistons didn't get it done, and I bet Crewhead bets things would have turned out different against the Knicks if he were given more burn.

Around The NBA

Image Howard himself had a strong season, averaging 17.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1.3 steaks per game. Howard wins this award for the fourth time, and first since 2010-11. Coincidentally, his Magic were also eliminated as the 4 seed by the Hawks in those 2011 playoffs.

2014 Conference Finals In Review

Image
It will be a re-match of the 2012 Finals (yay)

(1) Miami Heat (61-21; 8-3 in playoffs) vs. (2) New York Knicks (52-30; 8-3 in playoffs)

The Heat had no trouble dispatching the Knicks, who were without the injured Tyson Chandler. Miami thoroughly dominated, as they sweep their way into their fifth straight NBA Finals appearance.

Knicks 92 @ Heat 108 (MIA leads 1-0)
Knicks 97 @ Heat 109 (MIA leads 2-0)
Heat 105 @ Knicks 95 (MIA leads 3-0)
Heat 98 @ Knicks 93 (MIA leads 4-0)

LeBron James: 30.1 PPG, 5.9 PPG, 5.9 APG; Carmelo Anthony: 22.4 PPG, 9 RPG

Heat win series 4-0.

(1) Oklahoma City Thunder (56-26; 8-4 in playoffs) vs. (6) Utah Jazz (41-41; 8-6 in playoffs)

OKC returns for a 2012 re-match after a sweep of their own. Utah's unlikely run to the conference finals ended quickly as they were stomped by the more talented Thunder.

Jazz 80 @ Thunder 100 (OKC leads 1-0)
Jazz 100 @ Thunder 112 (OKC leads 2-0)
Thunder 108 @ Jazz 106 [OT] (OKC leads 3-0)
Thunder 102 @ Jazz 95 [OT] (OKC leads 4-0)

Kevin Durant: 25.1 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 4.7 APG; Al Jefferson: 17.5 PPG, 9.1 RPG)

Thunder win series 4-0.

NLSC'ers in the Conference Finals

F Da'Vonte Hughes (UTA)
18 games, 16.4 PPG, 7.1 RPG, .534% TS, 15.6 PER

Hughes was disappointed to see his team lose two consecutive overtime games in the playoffs, as his team got swept by the Thunder. Hughes nonetheless had a breakout playoff run, as the team's second leading scorer with solid efficiency and some clutch moments.

G Axel Gomez (UTA)
18 games, 5.6 PPG, 1.8 APG, 1.5 RPG

Axel saw just 32 minutes of playing time in the Western Conference Finals.

2014 NBA FINALS: Miami Heat (61-21; 12-3 in playoffs) vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (56-26; 12-4 in playoffs)
