Game 1 - Nov 1st 2011
Oklahoma City Thunder (0:1) - 106
@
Los Angeles Lakers (1:0) - 114
On November 1st 2011 a new era started in Staples Center when Dwight Howard put on the Lakers jersey for the first time in an official NBA regular season game. Expectations where very high and he delivered...
Howard and Bryant smashed the young Thunder almost by their own. Lakers office was very pleased what they saw from their new contracts Dwight Howard and Dorell Wright.
While Kobe lead the Lakers in the first half , Howard increased his presence in the second. Dwight who still wears #12, blocked 7 shots combined with 35 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite 44 points from Kevin Durant and 27 points from Russel Westbrook the Thunder were not able to keep up with the Lakers.

Warriors force Lakers into overtime
Game two of the regular season contained all what a Pacific Division Classic needs. The warriors who claim to be a playoff contender this season delivered a tough campaign against the favourited Lakers.
Dorell Wright who faced his old teammates could not connect to his numbers of the previous day. So it was again a game depending on Howard and Kobe, both again surpassed the 30 point mark, Howard also added 18 boards and Kobe booked 9 assists.
Curry, Ellis and the former Laker Meta World Peace combined to shoot 18 threes, keeping the Warriors in chase throughout 4 quarters. In Overtime the Lakers could finally take the reigns and win the game with their domination on the boards.team comparism

Suns fall in second half
Going into the half with a 5 point lead the Phoenix Suns could not hold on to their game and defend their home court. A reason for that the excellent shooting effort from the Lakers in the second half. A raise from 48% to 56% secured the third victory of the young season.
Again Kobe and Dwight ran the show, but this time there was also a bit more production from the Lakers second row. This is very needed as the season goes on and L.A. cant always rely only on their two superstars.
Steve Nash once again had a great night, almost a triple double collecting 18 points 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Shannon Brwon seems to be the Suns offensive number one choice theese days. Brown scored 30 points sinking 6 out of 12 threes.team comparism

Nothing special tonight as the Lakers collect their fourth win this season against the New Orleans Hornets. This time it was more a team effort which sealed the victory.
Six of the Lakers players in double digits, Kobe scored 16 points in the first half but rested most of the second half on the bench. Dorell Wright took over the scoring part and delivered 22 points.team comparism

Lakers still undefeated
With a nine point margin the L.A. Lakers managed their 7th regular season win for this year. Leading the Pacific Division with 7-0 far ahead the Clippers (3-2).
Only three undefeated teams left in the NBA, the Lakers (7-0), the Mavericks (8-0) and in the east the New York Knicks (7-0).
This seven game streak was not really expected as the team changed on so many roster positions. The trio of Wright, Kobe and Howard works fine so far, but it is still early and the second half of November is going to be much tougher. Continuing with the start of December when teams like the Heat, Magic and Mavericks face the Lakers.team comparism

Lakers drop first Game of the Season
The Detroit Pistons were the first team this season to beat the Los Angeles Lakers. This was very unexpected as it was even a loss at Staples Center in L.A.
Detroit shot 50% from the field and dominated the boards with Maxiell, Monroe and NBA veteran Ben Wallace.
Despite the Lakers lead throughout the first three quarters they were not able to close out the Game. Detroit picked up the speed in the last quarter outscoring the Lakers 35 - 22. Ben Gordon scored 17 of his 30 points in the last 10 minutes of the Game.
Even Kobe Brant dished 10 assists he could not be satisfied with his performance, Kobe shot only 5 out of 15 from the field. Dorell Wright was not able to acquire the scoring role, only 12 points and some missed shots in crunch time.team comparism

Lakers survive in classic
After two weak games against the Pistons and Wizards the L.A. Lakers came up with a strong performance against the New York Knicks.
The Knicks who currently 2nd in the Eastern Conference were lead by Amare Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony and their resurgent NBA veteran Baron Davis. The Lakers used their powers from outside shooting 12 out of 22 threes. Dorell Wright had 21 points at the half, he faded a bit when Kobe started to reign the floor in the second.
A solid defense performance and good work on the boards finally sealed the 9 point victory.
The Lakers are now going on a small roadtrip to face the Grizzlies (3-6) and the OKC Thunder (7-4).team comparism
