Bulls preparing for the summer of stars 2010

Wed Feb 03, 2010 8:47 am

Well, i'm doing a chicago bulls dynasty and here is my current roster.
Centers
J.Noah 78
D.Sanders (Cpu rookie signed last offseason) forgot his rating but its either in the high 60's or low 70's for sure as i remember he has a good midrange shot of 74 before training camp
_________
Power forwards
L.Odom 87-I traded My rookie center from a strong draft that i drafted in the first round he was 69 i think or high 60's, not yet 70, i also added Terrance Kinsey who i signed last season during season one and Kirk Hinrich because i know that the Lakers are in need of a more experienced star gaurd in Kirk Hinrich. Hinrich is better in my opinion than Fisher and Farmer, and also the lakers will be getting a 4 year player in a rookie center 6'11 who can dunk and has a great midrange shot, his rating in field goal shooting is at least an a.
T.Gibson 70
P.Pardo 70-Signed in the offseason the first year

Small forwards
L.Deng 82
J.Johnson 70
V.Cleaver 69-I signed him during the offseason after season one, he has a good midrange and three point shot and i think he'll develop nicely
______________
Shooting gaurds
S.Jackson 79-I'm a big fan of how he has been playing for the bobcats in real life so last year i traded John Salmons and i think pargo or hunter or some point i know for sure for Jackson
S.Vujacic 71
________________
D.Rose 84
S.Rodriquez 67-Decent, not great but decent midrange shot that i have to work on quite a bit

With all of these trades and loss of free agents including Tyrus Thomas whom i decided not to resign, because i needed better scoring big men whom i didn't have to train much in offense than i had in Thomas. Thomas wanted too much money and i don't want to be over the cap by this summer, we're in season two. My team is a few hundred thousand dollars under the cap. Joahkim Noah is a free agent this year, but i don't think i want to resign him because of his poor offensive game, and if the draft is strong or very strong, then i can always draft another center to replace him who has a better midrange jump shot. I may add some inside scoring to this team, if we're 5 to 10 million under the cap then i don't think we'll be able to sign any big names like Dirk Norwitzski or chris Bosh. But we should be able to sign at least 3 young stars. We have at least 2 or 3 roster spots open, and with Noah becoming a free agent we should have at least one roster spot maybe two after the rookie draft, i may or may not draft a second rounder, not even if the draft is strong or very strong. But depeninding on what the draft looks like this year, i may draft a center with my first pick. So, do you think what i'm doing with this young bulls team will help me bring an nba title to chicago? Do you think i'm doing the right thing? What do you think about what i'm going to do with Joahkim Noah by not resigning him? Because if i don't resign him, i think it'll free up some where betweeen 5 and 10 million, because he'll be asking for more money.

Shame you lost Tyrus, but Odom should be a great fit.

Yeah thanks for reading and replying, I wanted Odom because i'm trying to get veterans so that this team can win now. Plus as you know, the bulls in real life really needs to upgrade their big man position, they need to add an offensive big man, and boy i loved Tyrus Thomas but i just didn't have the patience to wait on him to grow offensively. I'm still doing this dynasty. I'll do more updates soon. I would like to add a point gaurd, i forgot if i still have Kirk Hinrich or not i may have traded him, even though he was a solid member of the team and i enjoyed his presence, but i'd like to get point gaurd who's more of a passer, because Hinrich likes to shoot the ball too much, i want to have at least 3 passers on this team, one at small forward to back up Luol Deng and a passing point gaurd. I think i'm passed the summer of stars where there was a lot of big names, i have to check my dynasty but at the time we had over 3 million under the cap. Sorry that this was in the wrong place, i didn't realize that this could be a dynasty story, but updates including roster updates are coming soon.

I'll be working on Dudley because i like his three point and midrange shot and he'll provide some nice bench points once he improves a lot. I'm also working on Deng's defensive skills, his stealnig stat is 71. As you can see i have four small forwards because i love small forwards, I have i think 3 free agents and one of them is Derrick rose and i hope to resign him.
I may trade Odom or some other players for a better power forward, or i might keep odom and just train my back up power forwards in their offensive skills and turn them in good offensive players. I'll probably trade Cleaver and Pardo(Although i hate to give Pardo up because of his high), for a shooting gaurd or i'll just draft or sign a shooting gaurd.
So the main things that this team needs are the following, more rebounding, so i'll train my young big men in their defensive skills, i want a power forward who can shoot from long range, a shooting gaurd and i want Jared Dudley to be a great midrange and three point shooter especially three point.
The season hasn't started yet but i think we'll win at least 40 to 45 games this year, although we have almost no bench so we'll struggle at times. I'd like to get a better bench and see this team's defensive skills improve dramatically so we can hang with cleveland. We want to finish at least 2nd this year, and at least 6th, 7nth or 8 in the playoffs, hopefully we'll make the playoffs.
Who do you think i should trade to get a better more experienced center, i'd like to have a one year answer so that means someone like Marcus Camby or something, i'd also like to get a highflyer as well. So if you have any suggestions on how to improve this team, especially defensively.
