Dynasty HOF: 2004

Postby Sit on Wed Nov 04, 2009 5:06 pm

We are wanting to pick out the top dynasty threads from each year so that they can be stickied and thus displayed more promiently in the Dynasty Hall of Fame.

I have created polls for each year and depending on the results (hopefully we do get people voting) as well as depth of the contending threads, we will choose which ones and how many from each year to display. What I propose is that the winner of the poll gets direct privilege of being sitckied while the voting thread remains open for you to add discussion on what other stories deserve merit.

So please vote as well as leave your opinions!

Here are the nominees for...

2004

Andrew’s Chicago Bulls Click Here
Cocobee’s Pictures Are Worth 1001 Words Click Here
HonorGlow’s Lakers Dynasty Click Here
Mafia’s Memphis Grizzlies Dynasty Click Here
Micchy Boy’s Lakers Dynasty Click Here
Shadyon’s NLSC Team Click Here

The Poll runs for 14 days. A winner will be announced and this will be forwarded onto Andrew - as will suggestions for threads that did not win voting to be conisdered for being sitckied.

Good thread man. However, if the DotY voting is any indication, turnout may be low. Is it possible for a bulletin about this to be posted on the main news page?

I voted for Andrew's. In addition to it not mainly consisting of a million dead picture links, it is very well-written and thought out, and is a relic of what dynasties were back in the day before people started getting crazy with BBCode, pictures and storylines. While all of those things are great, it is surprising the amount of substance in Andrew's Bulls.

Well, hopefully people find the poll as simple cause all you need to do is click instead of sending a pm to Martti. :) A poll also allows you to be anonymous... which I guess is enticing also.

Meh, would still like to get as many people to participate as possible. Also, are you voting?

Going with Andrew's Bulls... it's the only dynasty I've ever read, without pics (not counting Sit's ALIB II).

I don't think a main page post would be out of order. :)

Shame Cocobee's thread is full of broken images, users who weren't around when he made that dynasty won't be able to see how innovative it was. His 04 one set like the tone for future dynasties.

Agreed. Not many people know but his 2004 dynasty was the primary reason I started my own ones & a big reason why I signed up to the NLSC forums. Definitely the best Live 2004 dynasty & one of best ever without a doubt IMHO. But as jxuusa said, the fact it's broken images means everybody can't see the brilliance of it, which still would blow away dynasties of today

Andrew, mine and Sit's text dynasties will be the ones left standing when 2012 rolls around. The X's dynasties seem to still have working picture links, though there are some dead ones in the second half of the Bobcats one.

I will have to check into that

EDIT: That seems to be the Image Shack ones. I don't think there is much I can do about that as I think the pic's were lost one of the times when the CPU died (much like the old Bobcats .dbf files). That sucks. Wish I had them all on Photobucket :(

That's a shame, but they are there for the first couple of seasons, and there is far less harm done to yours than to say, Cocobee's, or even Mafia's.
