I gotta say, that was bad D lol. Gotta control the big and hedge hard. I know the switch was the last thing wanted but with so little time and difficult shot over my 7 ft guy would be the best outcome.

I'll admit, it wasn't my best defensive effort ever.

But I still kinda got screwed by that damn 2k basket mechanics BS that happens a few times a game for the CPU. I rarely get those shots to bounce in like that :x

You're really getting screwed on those simmed games. Do you ever use SimCast?

Nope, never have.

But maybe that is something that I can start doing next season. It would give me more control over those simmed games.

I really struggled to get through 82 game seasons before they added that. Mind you, I don't play 41 full games (more like 15 or so), but I'll usually jump in if the margin's within single digits going into fourth.

This was a frustrating game to play. We were up by 10 and cruising in the second quarter, but then I got sloppy and they slowly closed the gap.

For the entire second half the margin was never greater than two possessions either way.

Vucevic missed a fairly easy shot in the paint in the final seconds and we hung on to win

I think playing half the games every season is just about the right amount for me. The season goes by quick enough to keep me interested, but I still get to enjoy playing the game.

Next season I should definitely take more control over the simmed games though. It'll just depend on how lazy I am :P

It's the rumored comeback cheese from CPU, I can't seem to hold leads either. You pretty much have to play perfect to get a blowout win unfortunately.

This was a massive win for us. After that recent losing streak Utah had closed right up behind us in the race for the final playoff spot.

Yep. I've definitely had a few games this season where I've been cruising and then suddenly the CPU just go on crazy 10-0 runs out of nowhere.

It's good to see you're getting some solid production out of Alex Len. He was a beast for me in NBA 2K16 MyTEAM, so he's become a player I like a lot.

It was always going to be a tough job controlling the Suns, but you're doing well so far. Keep it up (y)

Latest 2017 draft rankings have Duke big man on top

Image

As the NBA playoffs approach for sixteen teams, the time has come for the fans of the remaining fourteen teams to turn their attention to the upcoming draft. There is particular interest this year because the 2017 draft class is rated as one of the best since the legendary 2003 draft.

This year is a bit different from recent drafts though. There hasn't really been an Anthony Davis type player that has stood out above the rest over the course of the college season to be labelled as the consensus number one pick. Literally all of the top ten prospects could be selected anywhere between the first and tenth picks. Another unique thing about this draft class is the amount of guards expected to be taken early on.

After a few years of big men dominating the lottery, this is definitely the year of the guard. The likes of Markelle Fultz (Washington), Dennis Smith Jr (NC State), Frank Ntilikina (Belgium), De'Aaron Fox (Kentucky), Lonzo Ball (UCLA) and Malik Monk (Kentucky) are all projected to be top ten picks.

The Boston Celtics are in prime position to land their first number one draft pick since the league was renamed in 1950. They have the right to swap first round picks with the Nets thanks to the trade that sent Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to Brooklyn in July 2013. Swapping those picks will see them rise up from the late twenties to potentially the first overall pick. It really was an incredible deal made by Danny Ainge.

A team that is familiar with being at the pointy end of the draft is Minnesota. They are looking at their eleventh top ten pick in as many years, with four of those being top three picks. It will be interesting to see what they do with their pick in such a guard-heavy draft after they took Kris Dunn with the fifth overall pick last year. Harry Giles would be an ideal selection for them as he would fit in alongside Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins quite nicely.

Washington are still on track to have two lottery picks after the John Wall trade, despite an upturn in form lately. They will very much be looking to land one of the point guards available as a long-term replacement for Wall.

One familiar face that will be missing from the early stages of the draft this year is Philadelphia. After picking up Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, Jahlil Okafor, Nerlens Noel and Dario Saric in recent years, the Sixers have taken a different approach this season by trading some of their accumulated assets to acquire all-star guard John Wall in a trade with Washington and Phoenix. That deal saw them trade both of their 2017 first round picks.

Their 2017 first round pick that is now owned by the Suns is likely to be in the mid-twenties anyway, thanks to their impressive form in recent months. Philadelphia are no longer the laughing stock of the NBA.

It is somewhat ironic that after taking big men in three consecutive drafts, the Sixers actually won't have a high-end pick in a draft that is full of guards.

We've done much better than I expected this season. I was actually expecting to get a decent lottery pick when I started this.

If we can secure the eighth seed, our reward will probably be a first round series against either Golden State or San Antonio

Len has been the biggest surprise this season. He actually got a triple-double in one game

Hopefully he doesn't ask for too much money at the end of the season.
