REGULAR SEASONOkay, so I decided what mechanics to use for the regular season. You just have to predict the correct winner in every game this month.
Point distribution is as follows:
Predict correct winner: 1 point
Correct W/L record: 3 points
W/L record within 1: 1.5 points (i.e. you predict 10-5, correct W/L record is 9-6)
(BONUS) Get everything correct: 5 points
(BONUS) Predict how many triple-doubles LBJ gets: 2 points

nice brekaway 360 dunk from the rook

but tough loss for ur team.. LBJ almost a triple-double in his 1st game

im thinking hard of revising my prediction
Tue Sep 15, 2009 12:50 am
XpLosibo, dont worry dude, getting triple doubles is hard so I think that your prediction is okay..
Everyone, I think I forgot to mention that I won't be playing every game this season.. I'm doing it like this: play whole game, sim, 3rd quarter intervention, sim and then play a whole game again. The next recap I will be doing will be the Game of the month which is against Derrick Rose and the Detroit Pistons.

Cavaliers Re-acquire Varejao from MilwaukeePosted: 29/10/2008 10:15:00 AM
"Wild Thing" is coming back home.CLEVELAND, OH -- The Cavaliers and the Bucks agreed on a trade that will send center
Anderson Varejao back to Cleveland in exchange for guards
Ramon Sessions and
Damon Jones. This will be the second straight year that the two teams have dealt with each other.
Cleveland has engaged in talks with different teams in order to acquire a backup big man as early as the preseason. And when
Josh Powell got hurt in last night's season opener, the Cavs GM decided to pull the trigger on the deal.
“Last night made us realize how much we need another big body in our lineup,” said Cavs GM Resurreccion. “Bucks GM John Hammond indicated that Andy wasn't in their long term plans and that they were on a rebuilding stage so we gave them two expiring contracts in Sessions and Jones. We're really happy to have him back."
Varejao played only 5 minutes in Milwaukee's season opener win against the 76ers and finished with 2 points and 4 rebounds. Last season, he averaged 4.3 points and 3.9 rebounds in almost 13 minutes of action. He is expected to bring his energy and tenacity to the Cavalier's second unit.
Sophomore guard
Ramon Sessions showed improvement during the preseason after posting 8.75 points and almost 4 assists per game. While
Damon Jones averaged 5.6 points in 43 games including 15 starts last season. Both players have expiring deals and probably won't get that much playing time as the Bucks' rotation at the point is set with
Mo Williams and rookie
Russell Westbrook.
The Brazilian center will miss tomorrows game against the Charlotte Bobcats but is expected to join the team on November 1 when they face their rivals, the Washington Wizards. With 14 players under contract, the Cavaliers still have a roster spot open which could be used to add another piece to their championship puzzle.

Great deal for you. Not so good for the Bucks.
Too bad you lost the season-opener, although Lebron was amazing. Thompson's dunk was nice.

weird... are the Bucks trying to out-small coach Nellie or something?

Varejao doesn't seem right playing anywhere else other than Cleveland. Nice job bringing him back.

I think it was a fair trade ratings wise, Sessions and Jones both have a 66 rating while Varejao is a 72...

Hehe.. Don't worry I'll try my best to win against them.. With regards to the Bucks, I guess they want to play small ball, they did get expiring contracts...

Wanted: Sixth Man
It was another disappointing evening for the Cavaliers. They dropped their third straight home game and to add insult to injury, the Boston Celtics handed them a severe beat down. The C's demolished them by a whopping 33 points which prompted Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert to hold an emergency meeting immediately after the game.
"Somebody please tell me what the fuck is wrong with our team? Anyone? We can't afford to have games like these," Gilbert shouted.
"I think it's our bench Dan, we are in need of a bench spark, a glue guy, someone who can really anchor our second unit," Mike Brown explained. "Andy and Roger are good role players but I really don't think they are ready to be that x-factor night in and night out."
"You have a good point Mike, gotta agree that our bench isn't what it used to be since Gerald, Penny and Deke left." Gilbert replied whose anger have seemingly changed to concern. "Haven't you been dealing with some of the free agents out there Zoilo?."
"I have sir. We have actually been in constant talks with the players and their agents. We have narrowed the list to three; Josh Childress, James Posey and Jerry Stackhouse," the Cavs GM said.
"We still have our Mid Level Exception which we can use to sign one of them. Their agents and I have already discussed the numbers, so signing one of them is just a phone call away."
"How about J.R. Smith? He's a bit of a problem child but that kid is just phenomenal, he's instant offense." Brown said.
"I completely agree. Our second unit would be great with him but Smith's agent is asking too much for him, I have tried to negotiate a better contract for us but they haven't returned our calls," said Resurreccion.
"So who do you guys think should we sign? We really need a boost right now. By the way here are their stats from last season."Player | Games Played/Started | Minutes Per Game | Points | Rebounds | Assists | Steals | Blocks |
Josh Childress | 82 / 9 | 17.7 | 7.4 | 2.5 | 0.9 | 0.96 | 0.49 |
Jerry Stackhouse | 82 / 0 | 18.7 | 7.1 | 2.7 | 0.5 | 0.8 | 0.48 |
James Posey | 81 / 8 | 18.6 | 7.7 | 3.2 | 0.5 | 1.12 | 0.52 |
"Hmmm.. Stats are almost identical. Posey is a proven winner, we all saw how he helped Miami win a title right? Plus he also did a good job last year in Boston, he plays defense, can knock down three's and will be a great locker room presence." assistant head coach Rafael Saez said.
"While Stackhouse is a former All-Star and will be a great veteran presence for our young guys. He knows the ins and outs of the NBA and he'll be an excellent backup for LeBron,"
"Problem is, both of them are already in their 30's, why not go for the young guy. I think Childress has the potential to be one of the best sixth men in the league and he's only 25 years old. The kid has tons of potential," said Gilbert.
After about two hours of debating and brainstorming the Cavaliers' top dogs finally agreed on which player will be dubbed as their new "sixth man". Cavaliers GM Zoilo Resurreccion immediately got on the phone and called the player's agent.
"Hello, Mr. Bartelstein, it's Zoilo we've arranged flights for you and your player. This contract really needs yous signatures."

It's Childress.

I would've love to try coaching a reckless player like JR Smith, and the toughness/experience of Posey.. But J-Chill could be an interesting player for the Cavs as well.

Cavaliers Signs Posey to a 2-Year DealPosted: 8/11/2008 10:44:00 AM
James should be happy not to face this
kind of defense anymore from Posey.Cleveland, OH -- The Cleveland Cavaliers announced today that they have agreed on a contract with free agent swingman
James Posey. Cleveland used their Mid Level Exception to sign Posey to a two year deal reportedly worth 11.14 million dollars.
Posey, 31, played a vital role in Miami's 2006 championship run where he showcased his tough defense and timely shooting. He would play another season with the Heat before signing with the Boston Celtics last season where he averaged 7.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.12 steals.
"We are very pleased to have
James Posey in our team," Cavs GM said. "We looked into other free agents but decided that his style of play would very much help our team especially come playoff time."
Posey had a second year option with the Celtics but he and his agent,
Mark Bartelstein, decided to opt out in hopes of negotiating a better deal with them. But the two sides weren't able to come to an agreeement.
"I was hoping to get a better deal with them but obviously, the talks fell through," Posey said in the press conference. "I'm happy to be part of the Cavaliers and hopefully help them become a competitive team."
The crafty veteran is set to debut tomorrow at The Quicken Loans Arena when Cleveland faces the visiting New Jersey Nets.
