I'd go one of these two. I seriously contemplated doing an expansion team, making them the new Sonics. Does 2k11 let you add a 31st team to Association? If so, I might do it myself at some point. I was thinking the usual team can protect 7 players under contract. 50% cap in 1st season, 75% in 2nd & 100% cap by 3rd season (I remember doing this in my Bobcats' one, happy days (Y) ).

I don't think you can. If you want to put a new team, you have to remove one.

I played a game with Detroit and had possibly the most enjoyable game of 2k11 yet lol but I've got a story idea I've been thinking about for months so I'll go with that instead. Austin Daye is a beast btw.

Started a Toronto game, simmed the first season and got the third worst record in the league and got the 3rd pick in the draft. Did some trades, traded away dead wood and such for some draft picks. I traded my 3rd and some players for the 1st pick.

Drafted Harrison Barnes, Kemba Walker, Shelvin Mack and LaceDarius Dunn. Due to my trades I had around 25 Mil in cap space, which ended up at around 17 Mil after I signed my draft picks. I signed Carmelo Anthony, TJ Ford and a D-League center to fill the roster.

After pre-season I saw that Ford was playing crappy and that the Clippers had both Kyrie Irving and Brandon Knight. I traded TJ Ford, Demar DeRozan, my D-League center and my 2013 1st rounder to the Clippers for Brandon Knight, Randy Foye and their 2012 first rounder.

Currently my starting lineup is:

PG - Brandon Knight (Rookie)
SG - Harrison Barnes (Rookie)
SF - Carmelo Anthony
PF - Ed Davis
C - Andrea Bargnani (All-Star last season)

I have Kemba Walker and Shelvin Mack coming off the bench for Knight, Randy Foye and LaceDarius Dunn coming off the bench for Barnes, Al Thornton and Linas Kleiza coming off the bench for Melo and Amir Johnson coming off the bench for Davis. Daniel Gibson and Kevin Seraphin are my Injury Reserve guys.

I need to trade for a center, because currently my best backup PF's are too small to play center. I like my lineup though, it's a lineup for the future with Melo's firepower that will keep us in playoff contention for the present :)

After playing on pro level, I have decided to give the association a try. I don't know what team to use though but here are my choices:

Lakers - try for a three peat and beat the crap out of the cHeats.
Clippers - Other side of L.A and with the "Incredible Griff"
Bobcats - Kwame is the main reason here.
Wizards - What to do with Arenas
Ballers - Just found out that they have a jersey that just looks like the one in my dynasty.

Also if ever I'm going to start another thread, I'm going to wait to upgrade my pc for now I can only play with low settings. :(

Haven't gotten 2K11 yet. The Association issues seems like a game breaker to me.
Couldn't care less about My Player and figured I'd be bored with the game once I finish the Jordan Challenges so Association is always the buy reason for me like always.

Finished a season in a 2K10 association with the Thunder that has Durant and Chris Paul.
Number 1 record in the league until Durant had a season ending injury in March. There goes Durant for the MVP race. Followed by injuries to Jeff Green and Thabo Sefolosha that left them unable to play for the regular season. Chris Paul was also playing with an injury so I was forced to try out Chris Quinn, Antonio Daniels, and Stephon Marbury for backups. Quinn got the spot.

From the number 1 ended up as the 4th seed in the West. New York finished number 1 in the East  followed by Miami. While the Rockets took first in the West and Lakers next.
Swept Utah in the first round but got eliminated in the 2nd round by the Mavericks in 5 games. Dirk was unstoppable. New York almost choked as 8th seeded Bobcats pushed them to 7 games.
Finals was between Spurs (beat Lakers to face Mavs) and Heat (beat Celtics in ECF). Spurs won in 7. I think Bosh was injured. Duncan Finals MVP.

Start of new season. Got Shaq, Raja Bell, and JJ Redick from FA. That sob Thabo left. Also got Joel Anthony and Ben Wallace from Heat as trading block offers (forgot who I traded for). Wallace is slow but he can still rebound and block, he posted 12-8 reb-blk in a game. Joel Anthony is doing well that he's ahead of Nick Collison in my rotation.
Julian Wright is my favorite scrub that I got. Those players that suck irl but are amazing in a videogame, it's him now for me. Pretty lethal in PnR situations.

Starting five now consists of Paul-Redick-Durant-Green-Shaq.
Bench are Ibaka, Wallace, Bell, Wright, Quinn, Anthony, Krstic, Collison. I didn't sign or dropped the rooks. No rooks in the team.
Might have to get another guard by trading Collison. Still figuring out if Shaq is better off the bench than a starter.
Hoping this time the injury bug doesn't get the team.

Association issues will be fixed, and even with them, the Association is as good as 2K10's with all the new features and player roles not causing big men to chuck 3's.

2k10's gameplay... now there's a game breaker.

NBA 2k11
All-star
8 minutes

Houston Rockets

I haven't lost yet. 3-0
Lakers was defeated, I contained Kobe Bryant, Yao got 5 blocks.
Warriors were really good, but Aaron Brooks rose up and finished the game with 43 points, his career high.
I had a hard time dealing with Denver Nuggets(last game), our score was 96-99(me). Nice three-point shot by Kevin Martin to win the game.

Ahhh.... just an update in my Association in the PSP version of 2k11.

My record now is 10-0, gunning for my 11th consecutive win against the Bulls. After my 3rd consecutive win, I signed Allen Iverson to the Mid-Level execption. Then, after a span of 2 games, I traded him along with Jared Jeffries to Portland in exchange for LaMarcus Aldridge. Then, I traded Ariza to the Nets for Courtney Lee. Seeing that I have a logjam at the F and C spots, I traded Jordan Hill to the Thunder for Daequan Cook. I also waived Jermaine Taylor and David Andersen.

My starting 5 is Aaron Brooks, Kevin Martin, Shane Battier, LaMarcus Aldridge and Yao Ming.

The bench:
Courtney Lee, Luis Scola, Brad Miller, Patrick Patterson, Chase Budinger, Kyle Lowry, and Daequan Cook. Chuck Hayes is on the reserve list.

I'm planning to develop Patterson so what I do is I give him enough exposure in the game. Currently, his PPG is 8.8. K-Mart#12 leads the team and the league in scoring at 29.0 PPG.

Any thoughts?

How's my association going? I dunno...I want Jermaine Taylor to be in the court, but since he's a reserved and I can't think of anything to waive someone. I must trade someone instead, but who?

Of course I'm going to read your dyansty. I only read dynasties involving the Rockets.

Give Taylor extended minutes. The Rockets' guard rotation is ok. Maybe put Chuck Hayes in the reserve because the team has a logjam in the forward and center positions.

The two people you waived in your association - horrible choices. :shake: I'm expecting better choices next time.

I'm getting slightly more interested in the Rockets now that I've seen a good bit of their game yesterday. They should have beat the Lakers yesterday.

Outside of the animation loss of control that you want to break your controller moments, I'm pretty satisfied with the sliders and settings (nogster's) I've applied to make it enjoyable for me.
Besides, I sim most of the games and only play about a max of 10 games per season (that includes the Rookie/All-Star games if I have players in them) since I play with 12 mins. quarters. I have my own system of choosing which games to play instead of simming and I almost always prefer playing on the road so that cuts in half the preferred games I play in a season. Even during playoffs I go with a play-sim-play-etc....for each series.
Still planning to get 2K11 once the patch comes out because it's omg! Sports game of the year! Yeah! 9.5 from IGN! Incredible!

Go directly to bottom of this post for following summary.

Anyway, continued from this...2nd season.

Final roster was Paul/C.Lee/Durant/Green/Shaq, with bench of Ibaka/Gortat/R.Bell/Krstic/J.Williams/M.Taylor/J.Wright/Weaver/N.Collison/the greatness that is Joel Anthony.
Made Shaq a starter because I noticed that we lost most of the games when he's off the starting five.
Had to trade Redick because he sucks on D, even though he was deadly with the three. I gave him away plus a first and 2nd round pick for Courtney Lee.
I previously had Shaun Livingston who was doing well in Paul's absence. He was even a candidate for MIP but I traded him because he was really intent on being a FA and I'm not ready to break the bank for him. Orlando wanted him bad because of Nelson also wanting to test the free agency and his usual injury spree. so I gave away Livingston and Ben Wallace in exchange for their offer of Gortat and their 1st round pick. Had to part with Big Ben because of the similar contributions I could get from Gortat.
Dropped Quinn (because he sucks) and got Mike Taylor from the FA pool.

Paul got injured and missed the ASG. Durant went nuts in the game as he ended up being the ASG MVP with 45 pts. Defeated the East with about a 20pt. margin. Any shot I threw with Durant went in, doesn't matter if he's hounded by LeBron or Gerald Wallace.

Finished with the best record of 58-24. Magic led the East with 56 wins. Durant was MVP with him being also in the Defensive 2nd team. Notable was Caron Butler who finished as the NBA scoring leader (31 ppg), Durant was second with 30.

Defeated a Carmelo-less Nuggets in the 1st round because of injury. Advanced past the Jazz in 6 games in the second. Went the distance to 7 against the Lakers in the WCF to advance to the Finals.
The East was a shocker. 1st seed Magic got eliminated by the 8th seed Hawks in 7. Turns out that Marvin Williams became into a Josh Smith type of player with 3-point range  . He averaged double-doubles in pts.-rebs. during their run. The Hawks also dispatched the cHeat in 6 games in the second round but they were swept by the Celtics in the ECF  . The Celtics didn't even have Ray Allen, he was traded to the Heat for Mike Miller. So it was that surprising for the Hawks run only to be swept by the Celts.

Finals went the distance of 7 games with the home team winning each of them. Shaq was the difference maker. He helped in the first game blowout win with his 20-11, Thunder defeating the donut Celtics with a 50+ margin because of foul trouble to their frontline, also doesn't help when Nate was chucking away shots. Rondo was getting triple-doubles that kept the Celtics in the series.

Game 7 was fun and hard to play, with my players easily getting tired after only 6 minutes on the court as a result of the Celtics D and progressive fatigue of the series, good thing I had a dependable bench. Game was really close for 3 quarters. They were now containing Shaq. Nate was sinking his crazy shots even with Lee on him and their rookie PG was also hot. Rondo was in foul trouble so was Chris Paul and Jeff Green. KG was keeping them up as Pierce was contained by Durant and Bell. Durant was cold but at least Green was getting it done despite KG hounding him.
Shaq finally broke the game open in 4th with his inside offense and defense. He led the Thunder to 10 point lead by the middle of the quarter, I had to sit him down in the 5 minute mark as he was already exhausted (less than 50 stamina left) even at the 8 min. mark yet I was surprised that he was still able to grab the boards and blocks to lead the Thunder run before that. Durant finally got his shooting touch back to maintain the lead and win game 7. Shaq had 16 pts. 13 rebs. and 3 blks. in game 7 to be the Jordan PotG. He decided to retire after this season, and we got to send him off with a ring  [/joy]
Durant was finals MVP. Good season for Durant as he finished ASG, regular season, and finals MVP. Only players to have done so were Unseld, Jordan, and Shaq.

What made this playoff run fun was that I only played 3 games during the playoffs, the rest were simmed. I only played to hopefully break a 2-2 tie against Utah in the 2nd round, the first and game 7 of the Finals. Wanted to play game 7 of the WCF against the Lakers but still decided to sim it. Means that I assembled a good enough team to win it all the way.

Off season was a bitch for losing Jeff Green who decided to follow the money trail to Dallas and join Kidd, Butler, and Nowitzki. I offered him a decent contract that he liked (full bar) but not max money. I didn't want to give him max money because he's a tweener as it is on my team. He's good on offense but I already have Durant and Paul for that, he's decent on defense but not good enough to guard against the big PFs.
Made me wait until near the last day of the FA signing period which made me lose out on Marc Gasol. He was my backup plan in case I lost Jeff Green. Gasol accepted my offer but I turned it down because I was still waiting for Green because his profile says 'Extremely Loyal'. Granted that a brain fart played on my part, forgot that I have Bird rights to Green and can still sign Gasol even if Green hadn't accepted yet, but Gasol was only an option at best. Extremely loyal my ass. Got Jonas Jerebko instead with a 6 year contract that's front loaded so it's good, at least.

In a notable offseason happening, Carmelo joined the Jazz. Their lineup is the same outside of the bench in my association, now add Melo to that.

Lineup coming into the third season - Paul, Courtney Lee, Durant, Jerebko, and Ibaka as my starters with Gortat, Patty Mills, Raja Bell, Afflalo, Tiny Gallon, Andre Miller, Kyle Weaver, Joel Anthony, and Nick Collison for the bench. I extended Chris Paul's contract for the max, so some of those front loaded contracts I have are really going to help when Paul and Durant's money starts to kick in my team salary cap. Still under the cap btw, with about 500K left.

tl;dr - I'm enjoying my association as I go for the two-peat with OKC in my 3rd season.

After patch comes out I'm considering running a 82 game Seattle Sonics Association. This will likely just be a non-story one since everybody is raping the Sonics. The plan is that the Sonics never left town for OKC. A parallel universe I guess. Lamrock's dream.

Same here. Plan on doing the same for 2K11.
I'm tempted with bringing in the Payton-Kemp Sonics to Association or just find a suitable trade to get Chris Paul and have him join Durant's Sonics team.

Damn straight it is. I'm currently developing him in my 2K10 association to be a defensive beast like Ben Wallace! :headbang:
It's also a contract year for him in my 3rd season. I plan not to accept the team option so I can re-sign him relatively cheap while his rating is still low as he has already stated that he wants to have "the most money" he could get with a contract once he's a FA in association. If worse comes to worst, I'm prepared to break the bank for him. I don't want a repeat of what happened to Jeff Green. :x
I have a soft spot for defensive bigs.

Decided to rebuild the Cavs. Hasn't gone over so well as the team has failed to have any 25 win season under my 6 year tenure. However, LeBron's shoes have finally been filled:
