OK, I'm introducing Willie Lewis (Houndy66) into the story as Brad Halstead's agent:

Willie do good for Brad?

"Wow, what a game for Brad Halstead, 43 points, 17 rebounds, 10 assists, 4 steals, and a block, as the Vipers blowout the Dakota Wizards 112-78." started Vipers' play-by-play. Brad Halstead had done superb in his fourth game with the Vipers. "The Vipers now move up to 9-0 for the season," continued the play-by-play. "As Will Conroy dribbles the clock out, we've been informed that the Houston Rockets have also blown out the Toronto Raptors a few minutes ago."

"This was a great effort by the Vipers, it won't surprise me if Brad gets called up to play in Houston." said the color commentator. Brad Halstead, as always, left the court without shaking hands with any of the Dakota Wizards. He went into the locker room, and sat down. A few minutes later, he was ready to get on the team bus, as head coach Chris Finch came into the locker room with the rest of the team. "Excellent job out there Brad, you may not be with us for long," said Chris Finch.

"A game or two like that, and you'll be starter on the Rockets," joked Will Conroy. "I plan to be a star in the NBA," said Halstead. "Well, I have a step for you to take here then, Brad," said Chris Finch. "What do you mean?" asked Brad. "You need an agent; you never hired one before the draft, and you need one to get somewhere in the NBA." continued Finch.

"Where can I find one?" asked Brad. "There's one outside the locker room; go talk to him," said Finch. Brad opened the door of the locker room, and peered outside. There was a man in a coat and sunglasses leaning against the wall. "Hi, my name is Willie Lewis," answered the man. "Are you the agent Chris was talking about?" asked Brad, a little puzzled. "Yeah, let's go grab a bite to eat, and I'll tell you a little bit about myself," answered Lewis.

"I can't. Gotta catch the team bus," said Brad. "Well, do you got a minute?," answered Lewis. "Yeah, how do I know whether or not you're a good agent?" asked Brad suspiciously. "I have a reputation for helping D-League players improve. If it weren't for me, Sundiata Gaines wouldn't have had a successful rise to the Jazz last season," Lewis answered proudly. "Before that, I helped Donte Greene get called back up to the Sacramento Kings, and now look at his success on the Rockets," he continued.

"How does an agent help a player improve?" asked Brad. "I tell you what to improve on, I lure NBA teams toward my clients, and it always pays off," answered Lewis. "I don't know man, how do I know you're just trying to take my money?" said Halstead. "Fine, I'll just go help another player succeed," said Lewis.

"No, no, no... You're hired!" exclaimed Brad. Willie Lewis began to walk away, grinning at his accomplishment...

Introduced you to the story. PM me for any details you wanna include to yourself.

Unfortunately, the last story was good to Brad. (N)

Well, last season Danny Granger was excellent (in this dynasty), he was an MVP Candidate at some point too. Ben Gordon is the surprise for MVP Candidate to me. :o

lol you keep saying your team is 'struggling' in the recaps yet you're dominating and own the league's best record!

the opposition's gonna be real sorry facing the MING dynasty when you're not struggling ;)

Well, it's struggling, because I think the first half is a very important part of the game, and we struggle so much in it. The 3rd quarter is always our savior in all games, for some reason, I'm always a good 3rd quarter player. :?

Halstead's still dominating, but he's also a moron. Martin can't be happy with Halstead's recent play.

Halstead won't be in the D-League for long. Might put him to play sometime this season.
Thierry. wrote:How I can be part of the story? :cheeky: Nice read.

Well, try to think of an open spot (Vipers play-by-play, assisstant coach, court sweeper :cheeky: etc.), and PM me once you've made up your mind. Include any details you want, and you're in (if you really want to be in the story though  ).

Given that anyone can be a part of this dynasty (as Thierry. wants to be a part of), can I be the Viper's play-by-play commentator?

Hey, nice wins, huh! I'm just surprised that K-Mart only had single digit points in the game against Utah. Sim Engine really sucks. Anyways, keep this up! :D

I trade him, the stories go right out the window. Maybe I can think of something else once he's gone.

Anyone can, but I don't want too many people in the story, but sure you can the Viper's play-by-play. I don't know how long I'll keep Brad in the D-League though. :?:

Rockets sandwiched by Mayo [20-3]

Postby Axel The Great on Mon Sep 06, 2010 9:39 am

3-game Recap

[18-2] Houston Rockets 99-92 Washington Wizards [10-11]

Image
Kyle Lowry for the dunk contest anyone?

After many easy games for the Rockets, it was a relief to finally come across a challenge. It wasn't always like that, as the Rockets opened up the game on a 12-0 run, and it appeared to be more dominance by the Rockets. However, as the game went on, the Wizards would slowly chip away at this deficit, finally gaining their first lead of the game in the fourth. With a four-point lead, the Wizards would choke. The Rockets clawed back, and found themselves up by 1, 91-90. Andray Blatche missed an easy field goal, and Kevin Martin would make a difficult one, to go up 93-90.

After another miss by the Wizards, a basket was needed to prevent the Wizards from tying the game, and nobody other than K-Mart, who had a game-high 37 points after starting out the game on 2/10 shooting, would make that basket with 15 seconds left in the game. The Rockets would then close out the game with free throws. "It's good to know that there are teams out there who can give us a challenge," said an exhausted Martin.

[19-2] Houston Rockets 96-81 Dallas Mavericks [6-14]

Image
Every Rockets player scored at least 3 points. (Y)

This was another garbage game. After their last encounter, the Rockets knew how to stop this Dirk-less Mavs team. They allowed only Caron Butler to bring the scoring load, since there is no way to stop him. Jason Kidd scored 20 points, but every other Mav was just quiet. The Rockets now extend to 9 wins in a row.

[20-2] Houston Rockets 85-92 Memphis Grizzlies [11-11]

Not even a nice defensive effort could stop the Grizzlies.

In a very defensive-oriented game, the Grizzlies have snapped the Rockets' 9-game win streak. Early on, Kevin Martin was struggling, making only 4/10 field goals. "It wasn't my night, damn referees wouldn't call any fouls either," said a disappointed Martin. The Rockets made a good run in the second to put themselves up by 1 at halftime. In the 3rd quarter though, the Grizzlies, led by OJ Mayo, would make a surge, and just dominated the Rockets offensively and defensively.

In the 4th, the Rockets found themselves down by 12, and all hope was lost. Down 73-85, Kevin Martin sparked a 12-0 run to tie the game. With less than a minute left, OJ Mayo scored a three, and that literally sealed the game as the Rockets couldn't come away with their 10th straight win.

Yeah, for some reason, field goals just weren't falling for us. In that 12-0 run, I thought I actually had a chance to win, but OJ Mayo's three just killed my hopes. :(

Oh crap, a lost against the Grizzlies.

Jordan Hill takes jump shots?

Keep Halstead in the D-League for a while. So if scouts will discover him, he will have a high trade value, assuming there is the D-League. Also, I can still enjoy my job.

Nice wins there, but that loss was a total domination of the Grizzlies.

All the players topping the categories of Memphis were better than the Rockets' leaders,so eventually the team was performing better

IRL Hill doesn't take jumpshots, but in the game, he's pretty effective with them.

OK, but eventually I will put him to play on my team, just so everyone can see how he looks, and how he plays.

The Grizzlies were just better than us. Kevin Martin was the only one willing enough to bring the scoring and play defense, everyone else disappeared. :(

^^ hah!

stinker loss to MEM but not entirely surprising... your team's reminiscent of the 90s Bulls... 8-9 game win streak, main man dropping 30+, loss to a so-so team, another W streak etc etc... so far the pace is looking good for a repeat ;)
