Overtime period 2

Second time this season that Beal has scored 50 points. Not sure what I was thinking on that last play in regulation with Wall.

PS3 froze after I tried to view Beal's highlights after the game. I wasn't going to re-play the game so I just simmed it and used the partial box scores to make this report. And of course Wall got injured during the simmed game. :x

Oh man, the end of regulation ... sry to say that, but that was bad execution :D At first, Pierce gets this wide open shot - I'm sure you were respecting his drive, but imho two points would not have been bad for you - so stay close ! ;)

And then Wall's final possession, just drive, try to get the foul or maybe even hit a contested shot with him, dunno if he has the finisher or acrobate signature which could surely help.

Good to see some game footage. Some high scores you have, what is your team shooting % this season? I am always messing aroudn with the sliders to get real FG% as well as good scoring results but it's tough imho.

I've been pretty sloppy lately when it comes to finishing tight games. I should probably just use Wall's speed to get to the basket instead of taking contested shots.

He's not bad, is he? :P

I wonder if he can reach 50 for the third time before the end of the season.

Wall frustrated by injury interruption

Image

Almost everything has gone right for John Wall this season. He has led his team to the brink of challenging for the top seed in the eastern conference, attended his first all-star game as a reserve and was being tipped as LeBron James' biggest rival for this season's Most Valuable Player award. But now his perfect season has hit a bump in the road as he will potentially miss two weeks with a hamstring injury. He starred in the Wizards' amazing double-overtime victory in Boston last night scoring 10 points and dishing out a lazy 20 assists. Reports emerged on Twitter after the game that Wall was seen limping his way onto the team bus and rumours started flying.

Then today the Wizards held a press conference to announce the extent of Wall's injury. "John felt tightness in his right hamstring towards the end of the game yesterday," general manager Steve Kerr told reporters. "An MRI revealed a small bleed within the muscle, which will keep him sidelined for possibly two weeks. Of course we will miss him, as any team would with a player of his quality, but we have confidence that Greivis [Vasquez] can step up and help us deal with John's absence." It's a big blow at a crucial time for a team that was looking like a legitimate contender for the top seeding this year alongside Philadelphia and Miami.

"This season has been almost perfect for me," Wall told reporters. "I'm glad that it's only a minor injury, but we have some important games coming up and it will be hard to watch my guys out there without me." Wall was particularly disappointed that he would miss two games against Miami. "With all due respect to Philadelphia, I still think that they [Miami] are the team to beat out here. I think we've shown this season that we can mix it with them and hopefully in the future we can keep improving and be the ones who are feared."

This injury will deprive fans an opportunity to see the two leading MVP candidates go head-to-head tonight as the Heat travel to the nation's capital to take on the streaking Wizards. Washington are the hottest team in the league at the moment and have won nine of their last ten games. The season series between these two teams is tied at 1-1 with the home team grabbing the win on both occasions. It could be hard for the Wizards to continue that trend tonight with Wall missing though.

Thanks for posting. Seems like your shooting is off the chart a bit and you are also having problems getting realistic numbers. I am still working on my sliders during my story and I get better results here and there, but I am simply missing a high scoring game at times ...

Postby Phil89 on Wed Jun 05, 2013 10:32 pm

I've never really messed around with sliders because I'm not really sure what to adjust or how it will affect the game. Usually I just up the difficulty and challenge myself to improve my game. I agree about having realistic looking stats, but I'd really just rather focus on playing the games and enjoying it than trying to make it ultra realistic.

I might increase the difficulty for the playoffs. If I crash out after having a great season I can just use the "young players having their first playoff experience" angle for my story. I know the reason to play these associations is to win, but I'd honestly feel a little guilty if I managed to get a ring with this team so early into the project. I want to develop Wall, Beal and Noel into legitimate stars so I can feel that it was my players rather than the difficulty setting that got me a championship.

Next up I have to face Miami without Wall. At least it's a home game. :?

Monta Ellis always seems to catch fire against me. Even when he doesn't score 30+ he still makes critical shots that stop my momentum. I just couldn't get within the 6 point margin after the first quarter.

I went into this game 99% sure that I'd win because Dallas are the worst team in the league this season. So I decided to have a go at some records with Beal just for something fun whilst Wall is injured.

Beal now holds the franchise record for: Most field goals made (23) and tied DeShawn Stevenson for three pointers made (8).

I fell 5 points short of tying Gilbert Arenas' scoring record of 60. I took too many bad shots, particularly from long range. I also had other players scoring which didn't help Beal.

Beal set personal records for: points scored (55), FG made (23), FG attempted (41), 3PT made (8) and 3PT attempted (20).

DeRozan had his best ever game for me but was overshadowed by Beal. He had 22pts, 13reb, 8ast, 2blk (10-11 FGM/A) and only 1 turnover.

It is weird seeing them playing so poorly just a few years after winning a championship. They did lose a lot of their players from that team though, I guess. Not to mention that they shot themselves in the foot by trading their 2014 first round pick to Minnesota for Jose Barea, despite already having Darren Collison and Rodrigue Beaubois on their roster. So they miss out on Wiggins for a backup point guard.

Silly AI trades..:facepalm2:

Re: Wizards [48-17] - Kobe vs Beal

Postby Phil89 on Tue Jun 11, 2013 2:38 pm

Forgot to mention that I've qualified for the playoffs officially now. First time in six years for the Wizards. :bday:

I keep thinking about how good my record is, but when I look at the standings Philadelphia are always a few wins ahead of me. They have gotten even better since trading for David Lee. Obviously Miami will always be the team to beat out east as long as they have the big three, but the 76ers have Bynum-Lee in their frontcourt and will be a huge test if I end up facing them at some point.

I'm excited about the draft as well because I'm in pole position for Mr Wiggins as it stands. At some point before next season starts I'll have to figure out my wage structure moving forward. Wall and Cousins will be getting paid this off-season (If they stay), and in a few years Beal, Noel and potentially Wiggins will want big money as well.
