Congrats on the Finals and a successful off-season! Allen should be a terrific addition backing K-Mart... not sure what's going on w/LeBron in OKC though; don't he and KD play same position?

The game will probably slide Durant over to shooting guard, though the AI will come up with some weird rotations for the CPU teams.

Andrew wrote:Good stuff, though LeBron's comments towards Cleveland were too kind. Should've said "I'm taking my talents to the Sooner State", too. ;)

I kinda thought they were too kind, but you wouldn't say "this Cleveland team is nothing but scrubs" on public TV.
Helios3D wrote:Lebron to OKC!
I see that you made some moves to your championship roster. Btw, I'm intrigued with your 2nd rounder rookie

OKC is sure to challenge me for the title. It'll be hard getting out of the Western Conference in the playoffs.

I just thought I'd put a criminal-type player in this dynasty, so a generated player is a good way to go.
Durantula_MVP wrote:THUNDER TIME. I predict next finals results, Thunder new NBA champion :D

Indeed LeBron was brave enough to move out West. I bet OKC will give me a good challenge.
Clutch wrote:can you say, (B) DEEEFENDING CHAMMMPIIOONNSS!!! (B)

You could say I won this offseason, I cleared some more roster space, and traded away a brick shooting Ariza for a pure shooter in Ray-Ray, a very reliable backup for K-Mart. Funny how I was searching for LeBron, and I saw he wasn't with the Cavs anymore, so I searched every roster and found him in OKC!
Andrew wrote:The game will probably slide Durant over to shooting guard, though the AI will come up with some weird rotations for the CPU teams.

Actually, the game put LeBron at SG, Green at SF, and Durant at PF. Westbrook is still PG. Pretty weird lineup, but I guess it's acceptable.
Martti. wrote:The King wants to be a prince everywhere. :D

Indeed this isn't the last surprise of the offseason. In a little bit, I will post the big names that switched teams.
Thierry. wrote:Great addition in Ray Ray (Y) . Looking forward to the coming games then.

Thanks. :) Might take awhile to play my first game, I still need to mess around with the settings.

George7 wrote:Congrats for the Ring despite beating the Bulls

Thanks, that Bulls' roster made a great Celtics-like run from real life. Their roster just wasn't good enough to beat my roster.

Bad thing about it is I have to face OKC four times a season. (N)
z02 wrote:Welllllll, LeBron's with a star - hope OKC does great things. NBA MVP and NBA Scoring Champ team up to fight evillakers

I already defeated the evil that is the Lakers. Though in this dynasty, Kobe is the reigning MVP, and Kevin Martin's the scoring champion.
Durantula_MVP wrote:About Ariza trade, sorry but (N)

Why would you say that? All Ariza was good for was worsening my FG%. Ray Allen is sure to make me want to take a lot of threes, especially since I usually stay away from them.

Sucks for Dallas. The Kings are likely to be a top team in the West now.

Glen Davis is a traitor. Larry Hughes wasn't gonna get much playing time in Boston with Ray Allen over him in the rotation, so I saved him.

2010-2011 Season Preview

The Starters
ImageImageImageImageImage
C Yao Ming | PF Luis Scola | SF Shane Battier | SG Kevin Martin | PG Aaron Brooks

The Bench
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage
Ray Allen | Donte Greene | Kyle Lowry | Chase Budinger | Chuck Hayes | Jordan Hill | Jared Jeffries

IR

Gregory Costa | Brad Halstead

What is expected for this team:
This team was built by Daryl Morey to succeed. Anything short of a repeat is an epic failure. From the inside presence of Yao, to the outside presence of Kevin Martin, this team is sure to make loud noise in the West. But the Rockets will need to watch out though. The Oklahoma City Thunder made the biggest off-season move in signing LeBron James, who can really dominate the game alongside Kevin Durant. Also, the Sacramento Kings built a nice combo, with Tyreke Evans and Amar'e Stoudemire. Also, the 2010 Draft class comes into play, and it will not disappoint.

Amory Miller, the projected first overall pick, was taken second overall by the Clippers. The guy really has skills. He is a 6"7" SF whom is a great shooter and very athletic (he was scouted by the Houston Rockets, just to see what all the fuss was about). The Oklahoma City Thunder had the first overall pick and drafted a 6"9" center (I forgot his name :shhh: ), whom was projected to be taken second overall. He has the potential to be a bust, but he is the big man the OKC was looking for, since they already had Kevin Durant at SF, they did not take a chance at Amory Miller. In this draft class, Yao Ming has competition for being extra tall. Dan Williams was taken third overall by the New Jersey Nets. He is a 7"6" center who can shoot the ball pretty well, and is a great rebounder, his job will be to back up Brook Lopez on the Nets.

This will be a tougher season for the Rockets, with teams making good off-season moves, and the strong draft class.

Good News: I think I found the right settings in which to play now. I switched from All-Star to Superstar, and played my first game (exhibition) today. I won, but it was a pretty tough game.

To make this dynasty a bit more interesting, I'll start doing some stories.

A FUCK YOU!!! Welcome

"Yao, say hello to your new teammates," Daryl Morey proudly announced to the big guy before practice started. "Gregory Costa, Brad Halstead, and Ray Allen!" Daryl Morey said, with a huge grin on his face.

"Hello there guys, I'm Yao, as you all probably know. Nice to meet you guys. I hope you guys are comfortable on this team," Yao welcomed the three newbies. "It's very tough switching teams. I've always wanted to play alongside you Yao," Ray Allen replied. "I don't know anything about that, I've been on the Rockets my entire career. Anyways, come and meet the rest of the crew." Yao replied, making Ray-Ray feel at home. "Gregory Costa, it's an honor to meet you Yao," Costa introduced himself. "Watching you play inspired me in my teenage years. My gameplay is similar to yours."

"I seen you play before. I saw your NCAA game vs Ohio State, you played excellent, too bad your team lost," Yao replied. "Meet the rest of the guys." "Hello, Brad," Yao said looking down on Brad Halstead. "You think you're so tough big guy, I've seen you play, you're amazing, but our center at Fresno State could compete against you." Brad said arrogantly. "Whoa! I don't roll that way man. You've got a lot to learn about manners, rookie," replied Yao, a little uneasy.

The 4 of them went to meet up with the rest of the crew. "Alright guys, let's get down to practicing, if we want to repeat, we need to get serious," Rick Adelman said. "Aww, come on coach, can't you give us a break? It's more important that we get to know our teammates," whined Kevin Martin.

The team socialized for a few minutes, except for Halstead, who sat down, picking through his pockets, in search of a cigarette. He found none, and cursed under his breath.

"Alright guys, social time's over, let's work on our conditioning. Line up at halfcourt, we're doing suicides, but we're starting easy, just jogging first." Rick Adelman yelled out. He seemed to be in a pretty bad mood. "BRAD!" yelled Adelman. "What are you doing? Line up!"

"Man, I don't need to line up, I don't need practice!" replied Brad, angrily. "Oh yeah, if you don't need practice, why were you drafted 38TH OVERALL in the draft?" replied Adelman, simmering. "That's just a mistake, nobody realized the talent that I am, so the Grizzlies came to their senses and drafted me, then it turns out that I'm getting traded to a fluke-championship team." said Brad.

"Hey! Hey!," replied an annoyed Kevin Martin. "Does a fluke championship team sweep their opponent in the Finals, and have the scoring champion?" replied Kevin. "FUCK YOU!" said Brad, having not payed attention to what K-Mart had just said. "Whoa, c'mon guys, calm down," said Yao, holding an angered Kevin Martin. "We need to treat each other as a team if we want to win another championship. We can't cuss at each other, or be arrogant. C'mon Kevin, let's get on with practice Coach, I think we should just leave this rookie here," said Yao, ending the discussion.

Throughout the whole practice, Brad sat on the bleachers, eyeing Yao and Martin angrily.

It's a hard difficulty, but the AI knows how to use double-teams and help defense fairly well.
